- Here's a compilation of low notes in CHEST voice that JD sang through the years with the different quartets he sang with. He really was the lowest bass singer on earth and will still be the lowest for a long time.

I've been singing bass for decades and never heard the term chest notes.
It's another way of saying "Modal voice". It's the same thing but since in bass low notes compilations, it's usually called chest voice I've chosen to called it the same way.
