Some prebuilt houses the door will snap into it without the pillar glitch. An example is the players house. The side door is missing, the one that leads to the car. Thanks for adding the PlayStation button, I hope you continue to do so!
Also, using the rug as the focal point of the group select "pillar glitch" works as well. If you don't need to move the door vertically, use the warehouse or barn door frames, since this will place the door on the ground. Your biggest issue is finding a flat enough surface to do this on. Once the door is placed, remove the frame and move your rug into position. Then group select and move the door! This will allow you to get a closer look at the door/door frame, to line up everything closer.
Peter Heizman. Lemme think for a moment. . . .I'm on pc, but have played it on xbox and use my xbox controller for pc. The button that you use to select an object in build mode is the one you're looking for. It would be the bottom button. On xbox it would be the "a" button. So, if my memory serves me correctly, it would be the "x" button on PS. To group select, you need to press and hold the "x" button, while the object is in the crosshairs. Items that are snapped together will automatically group select when this is done. If you are trying to pillar glitch an object, if the "pillar" is close enough to the desired object, it will highlight as well. If it doesn't, move your"pillar" closer. But, to group select, it would be the button that you normally use to select a single object in build mode. You just press and hold. If the object(s) disappear or "jump" to a place that you can't see, try selecting your "pillar" or last placed object and place it in the same spot. Also remember that you can use the trigger buttons to rotate, raise/lower and change distance on your selection. If you press R2/L2, all objects that are selected will rotate, right/left (clockwise/counterclockwise). If you hold the R1 button and use the left thumb-stick, you can change the height and distance and left/right adjustments of the object(s). If you select and object and hold the R1 button and use the R2/L2 you can increase/decrease the distance of the objects. I think those are all the right combos. Play around with them, and you'll get what you want. Hope this helps : )
Thanks for all hard work you put in you are different from other people on TH-cam you produce honest Vids that don't screw people over for views thank you
I found a neat trick if you are trying to move from one settlement to another with everything that you’ve collected you can equipped all your settlers with power armor so they can hold more and move your power armor and then load them up with as much of whatever they can carry and address them to move to the desired settlement
Hard work... That's what it is! And talent too. But yes, awesome videos. I just started playing Fallout 4, and with your videos, I have the impression to have uncovered a gold mine!
Hey school zone I just wanted to thank you for helping me in fallout 4 you’ve been a huge part of my TH-cam life and I want to thank you for that you deserve it man ❤️👍👍👍👍💥
I don't have anywhere near your level of patience--I'm on PC--and for years I used the script extender and a mod called Place Anywhere. After reinstalling Fallout 4, the script extender is being dumb and not recognizing that FO4 is installed. Since I didn't feel like reinstalling everything, I decided it was finally time to watch your videos and try out your tricks for myself. I'm enjoying the videos and having fun!
The poll from Nukaworld and the Marque are both snappable items, they don't snap to other things, but they have things snap to them so that's why they don't work with the rug glitch. If an item snaps to another object, it can't be rug glitched, and if something snaps to them, they can't be rug glitched. Good work hun, I look forward to your next episode. Byee!
Once again, love the videos!! Maybe I'm kinda slow or just not imaginative enough to figure it out, but I would like to see a video on walling your settlements and ways to possibly repair the walls and roofs on houses like in sanctuary, or at least make them appear repaired. Maybe your already planning a video on such, if so I'll just have to wait patiently lol. Hope you keep up the great work helping us make the commonwealth settlements beautiful! P.S. I'm also having trouble with elevators.
Hi David. Using the method in this video, you should be able to pillar glitch walls over broken ones: th-cam.com/video/M9OQAseCIcg/w-d-xo.html. But I do have a video on elevators coming up. Stay tuned! :)
I LOVED this video!! Sinking the generator underground yet still able to pull it back up! Genius! I wonder though if doing this would help on FPS when your settlements get to large and start getting laggy if burying generators and other things would lessen that fps drop. Furthermore you could use the conduit pipes to wire your settlement underground so you aren't left with wires strung everywhere. I love your videos Paul but I must confess I usually play with some mods. But I'm going to use this method to wire my city up having the wires underground (like in real life) instead of strung from roof top to roof top. I'd love it if after this series or possibly tangent to it if you could do a modded schooled zone. Covering tips and tricks to modded game play. Ranging from tricks like this one that even with a place anywhere mod this trick is still extremely useful to tips about load order and just all sorts of things. Anyways your amazing Paul!! Keep up the great work!
Saraphiene. To answer your question. No. Burying item underground will not solve any fps issues. It may, however add to them. Out of sight, is not out of mind in this case! The reason being, is that the game still loads the items, no matter where they are at! I found an example of this by accident while browsing some posts on a mod that I was going to download. The mod author redid College Square and people were complaining that the fps drop was heavier than normal. The mod author came back and explained that it was his fault. He had left four Prydwens underground, instead of deleting them! This made it almost impossible for lower end pcs to load the area without ctd.
Saraphiene, it would take some careful planning but you could totally run conduits around your settlement underground so no wires are showing. That would be kind of amazing. You'd probably want to leave some "pick up" points like I showed in this video because generators can still get damaged underground and need repair. Also, I think Court answered the question about the FPS issue. Since I don't use mods I wouldn't have known about that modder. Here's one of my issues with mods and why I don't use them. Whenever I watch a video of a modded settlement, I can never tell what was the true work of the TH-camr and what was made easy with the mods. It'd be like watching the Tour de France except some cyclists are using electrically modded bikes. Sure they still have to pedal a bit, but you can't really tell how much was their effort vs. the effort of the mods. At least that's the way I look at it. Whenever I see a beautiful no-mods settlement, I can immediately tell how much effort and creativity was put in by the TH-camr. When I posted Vault 42, I got comments for weeks from people claiming there was no way I didn't use mods. Haha. Some got nasty and called me a liar, clickbaiter, and sprinkled in expletives that got filtered into the spam folder. That right there was a message to me that mods have really blurred the lines. But I took it all as a compliment because if I can do a better job than mods, it's like beating electric bikes in the Tour de France on an old rusty Schwinn. LOL. Anyway, love your ideas but that's why I probably wouldn't do it. Plus, it's cool knowing I'm one of the only no-mods channels left. Viewers can come watch my videos and trust that everything was "hand-crafted" hehe. Know what I mean? Oh and by the way, did you notice the mining helmet on the front aisle desk? ;)
Skooled Zone I saw the mining helmet and loved it! Thank you! The only mod I use are scrap mod to get rid of trash really but I totally understand your Tour de France reference which has made me contemplate using mods at all. None the less count me as an avid subscriber because I love your work!
I also like to utilize the whole build area, but in some settlements I have to cut back a lot because some of the enemy spawn points are located inside the build zone, so I would get enemies spawning inside my walls during "help defend" quests, in other settlements with a similar problem I have to relocate the fast travel rug
Had to laugh. Very carefully set up the front door for one of the houses in Sanctuary--the workshop one. Moving the door closer.... closer.... closer.... wait. That door snaps. By itself. 🤣 [Very useful for all of the others, thank you!]
Lots of great advice and ideas. Have you ever noticed if you have the conduit touching the item you are trying to place it is harder to place? Love the sinking the generator idea, he helps keep things very clean. Awesome stuff.
If you pay REALLY close attention when placing doors, most the time you can see the hinges as you place it, and that will let you know what direction the door opens as you place it.
the vendors (general) that won't work with the rug glitch, to get them to work you just have to put a conga line of default rugs under it, like wayyy more than you'd think, like 10-20, and put the vendor somewhere in the middle, until it pops up on to the rugs, and boom it works
"Conga line" Haha. Good one. The vendors I was talking about though are the newer counter top ones. They snap to each other, though. So that's why they don't work with the rug glitch.
Another amazing video, thank you Skooled. Thank you. Oh and you should try putting some Vault-Tec Workshop mats under your power armor station. I'll upload a video to show you if you would like, or if you have a Twitter I can send you a picture to demonstrate. Thanks. -Fox
Oh man, more secrets I missed from when I played years ago. 👍. I am building Nuka World, going to try to make something amazing out there. Never got to unlock it last time before the crash!! I am so glad I came back to this game, it is the best game I think I have ever played. One question one the video, shouldn’t you have turned that laser turret around to protect the settlement, seemed like it was pointing at it, not at what was coming at it. 👍😉 Thank you for everything you do and all the hours and effort you put in.
I would like a resource and supply line video, but not sure if you didn't already include one in your curriculum for No Mods Shop Class or not. I have not progressed the game yet away from Sanctuary so I am sure there will be something to learn for this somewhere. For me it is almost 9 years that you did this series, my goodness, how time flies.
The fruit tree thing you are doing is such a fantastic idea. Before, i made fields, but this looks so much better! So thanks for that! And though i don't have the DLCs, I am going to try this on Croup Manor! 😁(or the door I foolishly scrapped in Jamaica x)) thank you so much! 😁😁
Good tip would be using furniture of various heights combined with the rug glitch to place items on specific shelves (to stock all those store rooms) also kind of surprised you dont use the steel and wood pillars from the warehouse and barn stuff, much easier to use than the concrete pillar.
Thanks Snake Jawz. I actually do use the iron posts for "pillars" when I'm in cramped spaces. I just prefer the scaffolding for outdoors. As for placing items on shelves, what would be an example of an item that wouldn't normally fit on a shelf?
well a good example would be using trunks or lockers or hampers, objects of different heights that allow placement of stuff on top of them (like a tool box) to specifically place that toolbox on the first, second, or third shelf in a rack of shelves. (also requires the rug glitch)
It honestly wouldn't surprise me if Paul gets no hate comments........he is just so thorough in his tutorial videos, never says anything even remotely controversial and his voice is actually really soothing.....no homo 😂
Love the 💡 of a miscellaneous tips video. This was a super helpful way to allow me to place doors I like, rather than always using the butt ugly ones from the warehouse or the totally non-private glass ones (also warehouse). I dunno about sinking generators, though. I tend to use 1 big, but fairly compact generator, the bluish one with a fusion core that gives about 100 power to power up my entire settlement. It's a bit tricky to try to sink that and run power everywhere. I usually wire everything up high, sometimes even putting that generator on a rooftop. Have the 💩iest luck with the pipe conduits, too. Can never seem to line it up properly. So, REALLY looking forward to the upcoming video on wiring. I also wouldn't mind knowing what you do to use these kind of tricks in areas that are cramped, where you can't maneuver well. I'm gonna check out the kitty name poll. 👋
Thanks for comment Lora. Yeah, I think the next video will help you a lot. But yeah, I used the nice fusion generators at Vault 42. One buried underneath the elevator and one way up near the brig. Tried to wire everything around with conduits and through walls so it would be clean and unseen.
paul i hope u see this becuse i was watching ur hunting head part 2 and heard what u said about ada id like to remmind u u can always give her attacktrions lags with the robot workshop that will get her to move faster and run fast i did this it help alote
That door glitch is the hard way. The easiest way is to use the Wharehouse door frame , please any door , delete the frame. Then use a small rug next to the door ( as close as you can , then place. This way you have a better view to where you place the door.
2024, rewatching all :D I remember pillars can be used anywhere if you place down a campfire first. It has earth/ground around it, so pillars works everywhere with it. Later remove campfire. Sorry if mentioned in later episode, i just remembered this random fact.
A tip for anyone who doesn’t already know, the best item of clothing to add ballistic weave to are the army uniforms/military fatigues. Idk if that’s the exact name but the army ones are a dark drab green and the other fatigues are sort of yellow green camo kinda. But the reason they’re the best ones to ballistic weave is because they’re one of the few that can be worn UNDER other armor, like the vault suit but you can’t weave the vault suit.
To sink the generator under the marquee, you don't need the rug since you're using the pillar glitch though, right? I'm pretty sure I sunk a generator at The Visitor's Center in Far Harbor, with only the pillar glitch with the conduit only. I hadn't yet seen your video wuth the wire glitch at that time.
If you can make it work without the rug then that'll definitely save some hassle. But if it gives you any trouble, you can add the rug as an option. You can also use stairs with the rug as another useful option for sinking things, like I did in my junk fence video: th-cam.com/video/Emv1ZfOOFdQ/w-d-xo.html :)
Skooled Zone Your video on the junk fences was quite the welcome relief from wrestling those damned things around in my game. I can't understand why on earth they made them so hard to work with. I notice that you are good on giving rationale for things, which gives a better understanding for them (As a former nurse, I really appreciate that.), so what's your theory on why Bethesda made them that way?
bigguygrizz67 is correct. I actually mention in the next video that at one of my settlements I buried a generator in a rock wall and still had to pull it out and repair it after an attack. So it must be random because there were no explosions even close to that area.
I saw a comment about the pole and marquee no rug glitching because they both snap. Just wanted to mention that the low counter style stores also snap (to each other).
Jason, there's another one I noticed. The Vault-Tec Population Management console. Know what I'm talking about? Can't seem to rug glitch that one either. Does it snap to something?
Yes, if you build two or more they'll snap to each other side by side. I'm not really sure why the developers did it that way. I've never sussed out a functional reason to have two of them. However, (you may already know this) if you build one of the vault-tec terminals and one of the vanilla terminals (with the the round screen), only the population management functions will show up in the vault-tec terminal. All the electronic functions (on/off switches, turrets, delay settings, etc.) will show up on the vanilla.
2022, this method is not working for me on PS4.. I followed everything you said as close as I could but when I try to group select it only selects the scaffold and conduit but not the rug or generator. I tried moving things a round a little with no luck. Was this patched or am I doing something wrong? ...Anyone else have the same problem? I don't see anyone in the comments with issues. Thanks for the hard work you do on your videos. It's easy to follow and informative. You deserve way more followers and views.
PSA, you can stack beds in same cell with small toolbox or mats to save space, the settlers may not reach the physical bed, but the bed count still registers. I did this in Covenant, where placing a sufficient amount of beds is challenging with the allotted space..also, you can place lights inside existing lights in covenant to produce more lighting, you can fit a single string lightbulb into the middle of the cieling fans already in place, and fancy lights in the existing fancy lights.
the vending counters that are not made of wood and other junk are infact snappable to eachother and the marque (?) sign has snapping point for the letters
I don't use the forums, but a lot of these glitches have been around for a long time. I just try to find new and innovative ways to use them by experimenting with things in my free time.
i used the chassis, (not sure how you spell it), to set up a section of junk fence on my red rocket build...thanks. by the by, i made the discovery that even though you have a chassis set up, some times it's too far away from where you are trying to set something precisely, (i'm kinda ocd, but i still don't consider it a, "dissability". but who needs really needs details anyway?). ANYWAYS, with your door placement as an example, you can turn your chassis assembly 180 degrees and place it from the opposite side with a better view. of course you can't see your pillar; but if you keep a weather eye on the, "place" command in the workshop interface...you can make any adjustments and as long as, "place" is highlighted, you are golden...just sharing the wealth. i did the, "don't feed the bears", trick to park the sign by dogmeat's house at the red rocket...and that was one long way to hump a sign, but it was kinda worth it...and the adventures i had getting it there...but that of course is another story.
Rewatching all your videos after a couple of years, it's like going back to school. I thought I would tell you what I do with my "sewer" generators, From your idea with the conduit, as you often mention if something is lore friendly. So instead of getting my settlers to travel down into the sewers I use 2 curved conduit and 1 straight, all sticking out of the ground. Curved for air intake and exhaust, and the straight one for fuel top up. I Hope your still playing fallout! Are you looking forward to fallout London?
Glad the videos have helped! Sounds like you're on it. As for Fallout London, I don't use mods. But even if it I wanted to, it's only for PC and I play on an Xbox. Oh well. Hope it's fun nevertheless!
I hid a generator in a shrub in sanctuary hills and placed a rug near after the fact to group select it out after. I havent tried this with hiding a generator in the ground but it would probably still work
I'm sure you probably figured it out by now, but that seems to be the hard way to install a door into a house. All you had to do is use the pillar to lower the door after deleting the wooden frame, the use group select with a rug or the same pillar and move it into place. Beauty about that is you don't have to stand 20 feet away and try to guess if you are lined up properly or not.
You may not have noticed in the video, but the pillar doesn't sink on all surfaces. It didn't sink on the porch for example. So the only way to make vertical adjustments was using the method I showed.
Has any tried to use this combination glitch to sink a pre-built structure into the ground? Creating a basement or, perhaps, sinking a complete vault-like structure underground? Curious. BTW, the Nuka pillar looks like an exhaust system for the bus. :-)
Skooled Gnomes? They would make excellent students/faux audience. I'm thinking along the lines of Mystery Science Theatre 3000. Fallout Skooled Gnomes Theatre 2273? Yeah whatever works. Just tossing out random ideas based on things you've said. ;)
if you put the rug next the door when you have it outside instead the pilar and the conduit you can take the door when you want easy. Is another method. Only you need that the door be a llitle more up that the rug.(or exactly in the same level, now i don't remember it. If is in the same level you only move the rag with the pilar help exactly to the same level where is the level of the door in the frame door outside. Then you take door and rag where you want easy)
I'm curious. I tried to utilize the pillar glitch to put in the end of the long building at Sunshine Tidings. I used four full floor pieces (Warehouse), warehouse walls with windows, four roof pieces, and two full warehouse walls. I tried the concrete column, both inside and out, but I could not get it to go active. Is there a better way of doing this?
Sometimes these things work perfectly and other times it can frustrate for hours. Try taking advantage of the natural snapping feature by putting a foundation piece as close to where you want the wall on the outside and then see if a wall will snap to it. Hope that helps. :)
I'm still having trouble trying to put stuff on the middle shelves not the top or bottom really well yeah the bottom too but the middle Shelf it's my enemy
at the start of all your videos, you have a 2-digit display over your shoulder showing a number - what does that number represent? Your video number, maybe? Also, I'm old enough to know that those displays are Nixie tubes, and I even have a few!
Yes, that's the video number in the No Mods Shop Class series. Hehe. And yes those are Nixie Tubes that came with Wasteland Workshop: fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Oversized_Nixie_tube
@SkooledZone Paul I sent you an email (I think) about a new no mod wire glitch that replaces the conduit rug glitch completely. in fact it replaces every wire wire glitch you could think of allowing you to attach any conduit to any conduit or powered object through any obstacle reguardless of distance. Through walls, any conduit type, any way you could imagine with no limitations!
Absolutely. That's one of the three methods that you'll see in tomorrow's video. It'll be good to know all three techniques because each one has it's use. :)
I've just recently started playing and have only done it to two houses, but it let me put them right in the door frames. Clicked right in as if I had used the built door frame. Of course this was in Santuary so maybe that had something to do with it.
The very next video made mention to that. And yes this was helpful for these others doors. Thank you. I've been practicing with a lot of the things you have shown us so far and am working my way through the rest of these very enlightening and informative videos. Thank again for all the time and information.
I don't think this has been commented before but sorry if I missed it. I think technically the marquis and cafe counters ARE snappable items because things snap TO them - the acrylic letters and sneeze guards, respectively. Maybe this is why the rug glitch doesn't work with them.
You are correct. If they even only just snap to themselves, they can't be rug glitched. I mentioned that in a follow up tips video ;-) th-cam.com/video/D76HR039mDI/w-d-xo.html
The incredible density of screw related puns all arriving from a single incident is very humorous.

I just started a survival playthrough and these vids have been game changers. Especially the wireless power glitch
I have a theory that part of the reason this guy's videos are so good is because of his voice; he's definitely got a voice for radio, so to speak. The information is always important, but so is presentation, and Paul knows how to present it.
Wow, thanks Jordan. 👊

@shawnleek4970 LOL that why the Hymm says "IF the Army and Navy ever look on Heaven' Scenes. They find the streets guarded by United State Marines."
The gun shield is a great way to lock your turrets line of sight for ground targets 😂
I had a pointer acceleration issue for the longest time and couldn't play FO4. Since the changing of hands I am able to play again. Been too long! Anyhoo... I've been bingeing your vids. @Warren Ricardo Thanks for your reply. I got to the site through google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff now.

@Warren Ricardo It worked and I actually got access to my account again. I am so happy!

This will allow you to get a closer look at the door/door frame, to line up everything closer.
how do you do group select with PS4

That's okay Ron. Thanks for your continued support!!
I had never thought about sinking the generator! great video!

Thanks for the tips, I usually use the doors of the warehouse because you can place them without needing a frame, but now I can use any door!
Hey school zone I just wanted to thank you for helping me in fallout 4 you’ve been a huge part of my TH-cam life and I want to thank you for that you deserve it man ❤️👍👍👍👍💥
Really appreciate the kind words 👊
I don't have anywhere near your level of patience--I'm on PC--and for years I used the script extender and a mod called Place Anywhere. After reinstalling Fallout 4, the script extender is being dumb and not recognizing that FO4 is installed. Since I didn't feel like reinstalling everything, I decided it was finally time to watch your videos and try out your tricks for myself. I'm enjoying the videos and having fun!
I'm supposed to wake up early and I'm totally marathon ING your videos. Learning a ton. You rock. Crack me up too. Thank you.
Thanks Paul. BTW, that's my name too!
Byee!
You're totally right. I forgot it can work in reverse too. Mystery solved. Thanks SushiKat!
NP hun, I hope you have a great day.
Another great video. I definitely like the idea of the different tips and tricks from your viewers put together in one video! 👍
Thanks Kaya. That's in the works. ;)
I keep coming back to these and learn something each time thank you Skool 👍👍👍👍🍺😎
That's awesome man 👍
LOL - that's just the house I was trying to add doors to. Thank you for this amazing series.
Out houses are very useful for keeping doors flush with the ground before you go to move it. Helps work around the gap that doorways create.
great video and awsome job teaching the class i enjoy learning these tricks thanks for sharing your knowledge of one of my favorite games
You bet! 👍🏻
Stay tuned! :)
Here's that elevators video if you're interested: th-cam.com/video/FpXVAMmo2WM/w-d-xo.html
I thank all you cats, your vids have completely changed my Fallout experience. 1st time ever trying the franchise...I'm using the PS4
Hey thanks Frederick. Glad these videos are helpful and you're enjoying them!
Deathpaw is clearly the best, I'm totally calling my cat that.
Still playing this game and loving it. Thanks for the great tips.
Some really cool tips here! Thanks for the video and for sharing your thoughts, ideas and experience with us.
Glad it was helpful!
I love your puns it reminds me of my pastor at my church it makes me happy
Well he is kinda doing a mod shop class cuz you can use every tip and tricks with mods
But it is a good idea to build the cables underground ;)
Oh and by the way, did you notice the mining helmet on the front aisle desk? ;)
Interesting. Where did you find that? I don't believe I've come across that in over 1500 hrs. gameplay.
Skooled Zone I saw the mining helmet and loved it! Thank you! The only mod I use are scrap mod to get rid of trash really but I totally understand your Tour de France reference which has made me contemplate using mods at all. None the less count me as an avid subscriber because I love your work!
I always upvote some Skooled Zone. Thanks for posting :)
Perfect teaching voice to keep your attention.
I also like to utilize the whole build area, but in some settlements I have to cut back a lot because some of the enemy spawn points are located inside the build zone, so I would get enemies spawning inside my walls during "help defend" quests, in other settlements with a similar problem I have to relocate the fast travel rug
I love the basketball hoop shield idea
Had to laugh. Very carefully set up the front door for one of the houses in Sanctuary--the workshop one. Moving the door closer.... closer.... closer.... wait.
That door snaps. By itself. 🤣
[Very useful for all of the others, thank you!]
IKR? Funny how some of them snap and others don't.
Omg I am enjoying these videos so much, I’m learning so many new things. Thank you!!!!
Thanks Shelby. Really appreciate that! 😁
Lots of great advice and ideas. Have you ever noticed if you have the conduit touching the item you are trying to place it is harder to place? Love the sinking the generator idea, he helps keep things very clean. Awesome stuff.
Thanks. And yes, if the conduit collides with the object you want to place, it gets a little trickier. So I try to have back just a bit.
Thanks.
-Fox
You're welcome. And I don't usually use power armor but I bet that would look cool.
Love these Videos and they have really helped me to become a better builder in Fallout 4 been having lots of fun building up some Rad settlements.
👍
Answered my question in the last video in this one lol.😊
Awesome videos! I’m learning a lot and appreciate your creativity!!
And 𝙄 appreciate your comment!! 😉
Keep up the great work! 👍
I haven't done a specific supply line video but I did mention it in this video: th-cam.com/video/OE0tLm3wgFc/w-d-xo.html
Paul wasn't kit cat my idea for a name? I think it was thanks soooo much for choosing that you made my day, again a huge fan
There were two viewers that suggested KitCat, you and Broccles. So good one! 😸
👍
Another great video paul you keep showing me more things that I can do with fallout 4. Keep up the awesome videos.
Will do Alexander!
Good tip would be using furniture of various heights combined with the rug glitch to place items on specific shelves (to stock all those store rooms)
also kind of surprised you dont use the steel and wood pillars from the warehouse and barn stuff, much easier to use than the concrete pillar.
I love these vids always so helpful! I was even inspired to start my own building channel!
👍
Also can we see more fallout related vids???
It honestly wouldn't surprise me if Paul gets no hate comments........he is just so thorough in his tutorial videos, never says anything even remotely controversial and his voice is actually really soothing.....no homo 😂
Really appreciate it GamingBiscuit! I still get hate once in a while like any TH-camr does because hatahs gonna hate and trolls be trolls. LOL.
Great videos man.
Smart idea with a miscellaneous tips and tricks video!
Great Video!
I know I'm late on watching your no mods shop courses but I feel like I'm really learning!
Also, what settlement is that?
Glad you're enjoying the videos! The settlement is this :) th-cam.com/video/ylga9zWD8YE/w-d-xo.html
Hey, just A silly question but have you attempted using the conduit/pillar/rug glitch to build outside of the traditional build area?
I've tried. You can go a few inches but not much. :)
@@SkooledZone thanks
For the advanced lessons you should make a giant no mods shop class on spectacle island
Can u do a video on conduit. I have no idea how to use it and I think it would be better to hear it from you than on some forum online. Thanks
Hi Finn. In case you haven't seen it yet, this method is actually better than using pipe-conduits: th-cam.com/video/3TIo77uMUxc/w-d-xo.html
Sorry, it took awhile to respond but thanks for the help.
paul i hope u see this becuse i was watching ur hunting head part 2 and heard what u said about ada id like to remmind u u can always give her attacktrions lags with the robot workshop that will get her to move faster and run fast i did this it help alote
That door glitch is the hard way. The easiest way is to use the Wharehouse door frame , please any door , delete the frame. Then use a small rug next to the door ( as close as you can , then place. This way you have a better view to where you place the door.
2024, rewatching all :D
I remember pillars can be used anywhere if you place down a campfire first. It has earth/ground around it, so pillars works everywhere with it. Later remove campfire.
Sorry if mentioned in later episode, i just remembered this random fact.
Funny you said that because the video set for Saturday features that exact trick! 😊
Totally. And funny enough, even those utility coveralls I wear in my building videos has the ballistic weave on them.
If the settlement is attacked, can those buried generators take damage (directly or through RNG), or are they always protected? Great series BTW.
If you are not there to defend the settlement, what gets damaged is randomly chosen. I've had generators in concrete rooms with no doors get damaged
bigguygrizz67 is correct. I actually mention in the next video that at one of my settlements I buried a generator in a rock wall and still had to pull it out and repair it after an attack. So it must be random because there were no explosions even close to that area.
Love your vids ad Ive learned a ton thanks to you. Have you done a Croup Manor rebuild yet?
Glad the vids help! I haven't tackled Croup Manor yet but it's on the list. :)
I was wondering how what is the button to throw items in PC? at 13:23
I saw a comment about the pole and marquee no rug glitching because they both snap. Just wanted to mention that the low counter style stores also snap (to each other).
You're absolutely right. I never snap them together so I totally forgot about that. Thanks Jason.
Thanks a bunch. Btw, all glitches still work :) th-cam.com/video/xKX4E1yQkig/w-d-xo.html
Good tips! Check it out: th-cam.com/video/Jl-idDvy-PE/w-d-xo.html
the vending counters that are not made of wood and other junk are infact snappable to eachother and the marque (?) sign has snapping point for the letters
Indeed. A couple other commenters pointed that out.
Great ideas, thank you.
Ur vids are still amazing
I dub this: The Pug Glitch!
How do you find these glitches, do you use the forums or do you find them on your own?
Right on!
Do the next class room in murkwater construction site. It was made to have construction in it!
Actually, I'm building another type of settlement there. It's going to hint at where Fallout 5 might be located! But it won't be done for a while.
Catmeat will probably be the cat's name.
Zeni Max Plays actually In thinking it'll be Deathpaw which is super cute even though I liked Mr Tibbles😃
Maybe, Catmeat was on 100% a couple of minutes ago.
catmead sounds way cuter that dogmead so we can live with
But i like pinkie pei more (but thats me meaning :P)
Zeni Max Plays Catsworth ;)
Flyshy 8 mead?
Do you have an architectural background? The door thing, and then the centimetre thing (as an American) seemed a bit random. Hi from Australia :)
I don't have an architectural background, but I'll take that as a compliment. ;-)
Just tossing out random ideas based on things you've said. ;)
I like that idea! Now if I can just remember where I put them all. LOL.
if you put the rug next the door when you have it outside instead the pilar and the conduit you can take the door when you want easy. Is another method.
Only you need that the door be a llitle more up that the rug.(or exactly in the same level, now i don't remember it. If is in the same level you only move the rag with the pilar help exactly to the same level where is the level of the door in the frame door outside. Then you take door and rag where you want easy)
This is amazing.
😊
Only thing I found that helps is to crouch before entering workshop, start on bottom and stay back. Good Luck
butterball 27, did you try the second part of "Tip #3" that I went over in this video? th-cam.com/video/sDza5oblD1g/w-d-xo.html
Great stuff dude. Do you have anything on how to password protect locked doors and containers?
I don't think that's possible in Fallout 4 (maybe in Fallout 76).
at the start of all your videos, you have a 2-digit display over your shoulder showing a number - what does that number represent? Your video number, maybe? Also, I'm old enough to know that those displays are Nixie tubes, and I even have a few!
Yes, that's the video number in the No Mods Shop Class series. Hehe. And yes those are Nixie Tubes that came with Wasteland Workshop: fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Oversized_Nixie_tube
What’s the difference between storing the item or scrapping to recover resources?
Storing an item puts it into your workshop until it gets broken down when needed. Scrapping breaks it down immediately.
What's the thing at 18:10 that sounds like cicadas. Is that in game, or is that coming through your mic?
Yeah those are from the game. Certain environments, especially near swamps, have that cricket noise.
Wich settlement is that again
Thanks for asking. This one: th-cam.com/video/ylga9zWD8YE/w-d-xo.html
@@SkooledZone Thank you very much
@SkooledZone Paul I sent you an email (I think) about a new no mod wire glitch that replaces the conduit rug glitch completely. in fact it replaces every wire wire glitch you could think of allowing you to attach any conduit to any conduit or powered object through any obstacle reguardless of distance. Through walls, any conduit type, any way you could imagine with no limitations!
Absolutely. That's one of the three methods that you'll see in tomorrow's video. It'll be good to know all three techniques because each one has it's use. :)
Ty Skool 👍👍👍👍🍺😎
I've just recently started playing and have only done it to two houses, but it let me put them right in the door frames. Clicked right in as if I had used the built door frame. Of course this was in Santuary so maybe that had something to do with it.
Yes, some door frames will let you snap in the door. This video was helpful for the ones that won't.
The very next video made mention to that. And yes this was helpful for these others doors. Thank you. I've been practicing with a lot of the things you have shown us so far and am working my way through the rest of these very enlightening and informative videos. Thank again for all the time and information.
I've got an idea! Underground electrical using the conduits and the pillar glitch!
