Derek So glad I found your channel I hunt in deep southern Alabama and the wma I hunt is similar to where you hunt in Florida so I’m enjoying this shared knowledge a ton. Definitely gonna try ground hunting this year as there is tons of places where getting in a tree just doesn’t work because it’s so thick.
Thanks for the tips. My back also reminds me how much I need a support. I've used a back brace that wraps around my core with some success when I don't have a back support built into the stand.
The chair I am running is the Helinox Café Chair at $170.00 its more money but you do not sit so low. It is like a regular chair. 3lbs. I use a back net also
Derek great video as always! I'm starting to ground hunt more now because of clear cuts. We have a lot of cypress swaps. I concur with natural elements in my hunting clothes bag. I do same thing. But I do buck spray on occasion. What do you use for buck spray? I'm using vanilla extract mixed with water. I do have Nose jammer not sure if I like that yet.
@heavydieselengine8989 not a stupid question, that dictates which management area's I hunt sometimes. Some management area's only allow parking in designated area's but the majority you can park anywhere that doesn't obstruct a road whether it's open or closed. It should say in the brochure.
@newperspective1318 I just looked so I didn't give you any bad info. Mine was like $80, it's a little different model than the $36 one that comes up first. The base looks a little different.

Do you practice shooting sitting down? I feel like I can't keep proper form unless I am standing up with my feet planted correctly. Right now I am using a double bull ground blind because I feel like my form is crap sitting down or shooting at a downward angle out of a stand.
@Steve-ev6vx For years I practiced standing, sitting, on my knees, leaning out from behind a tree, basically any real life situation I could dream up. Now that it's just instinct I really don't shoot much but for alot of years I shot every day as much as I could.

@@FinCityFL I don't use any scent blockers or cover scent other than a deer scent or the vanilla occasionally.
Don't hunt deer much on public, but when I do, I do it like you do

I ground hunt with recurve bow and I have a lot of hardware in my back that chair looks like the ticket.
My ghillie suit is all matted up with weed seeds and twigs 😂

Stupid question, where do you park in the Fl WMA? Do you just park on the side of the road? Is it required to park in the parking spot?

I still have not found a chair, I can sit in and feel comfortable. Imma see about the chair you use, maybe try it out.

What camo pattern or color is your leafy top??
