- Out on the road, usually for extended periods of time, truckers may sometimes run into odd things out there. Here are three times that's just what happened.

As a UPS grizzled veteran, if anyone ever asks me to bring a package into their home, I politely sat the box inside the door way and leave. Never enter a strangers house. You never know what ill intentions people have.

I'm a tiny woman and I have been a trucker before an accident forced me to stop. I usually got to truck stop early in the evening to make sure I wouldn't be too far from the truck stop door and I usually chose big truck stop with lots of light. One time, though , I got stuck at the Canada / US border and I didn't make it to the truck stop before way past 8 PM. I was at the gas pump when this guy in the front row walked over to me and asked me if I stayed the night. I was a little bit uneasy by his questions since he was HUGE but I said that yes, I had planned on it. He told me the parking lot was pretty full and the only few spots left were at the back rows but he would be a gentleman and give me his spot. He asked me if I knew the seat belt door locking trick yet. I told him no, but I always locked my door and that's when I learned that even though Freightliners keys wouldn't start just any ignitions, it would unlock any Freightliners door and he proved it by unlocking mine with HIS KEYS. I freaked out. he showed me how to take the seatbelt and use it to tie the door, before buckling it. I thanked him and he gave me his spot while he went to the back. I can never thank him enough for showing this to me. There are some nice people out there

Too bad i don't get scared from scary stories, horror movies, or nightmares....like i rarely have nightmares but i wish i had nightmares almost every night but i don't...which seems like aweird thing to wish but I'm weird lol...i just don't get scared unless something actually happens but nothing has happened to scare me

I am a truck driver. And, I must say I've encountered some pretty horrid things, But if there's any advice I can give is this: NEVER EVER PICK UP A HITCHHIKER, and NEVER EVER PULL YOUR SEMI on some dirt, dark, dingy back road to rest. ❤ this channel. More semi horror stories please.

@@kattlinurlacher4986 Yes, I pulled off a dirt road to rest. Truck on. Lights on. Truck locked. Double locked. After I decided to get in my bed, not even half hr later my GS male and female started not only barking, but growling. At first, I figured they must have seen some rodents....until both started barking and jumping on my driver door. I got up, and looked through my window, 2 individuals, were getting ready to steal my diesel fuel out of the tank. Being that the truck was on, I couldn't hear them, but my GS babies, knew. I lowered the window just enough for them to see that I was there, my GS was about to break my window. They ran back to their car, which was parked behind me...and took off. I got up, put my shoes on, and took off to the nearest truck stop. This wasn't the worst, but imagine, if I didn't get up, just ignored my dogs?! It was a dark, and shady place. As for people who think they can get away by doing this....remember not everyone has a dog. Others carry weapons. A gun, a knife...and they will defend their truck, and everything they've worked for to the end. I work for everything I have. No one ever gave me anything for free. Wasn't born into privilege. Or family money. So, I don't let anyone steal from me. Now, it's my GS babies, and a weapon. I don't play. Hitchhikers I've never picked up. NEVER WILL. THAT'S NOT ONLY DANGEROUS, BUT YOU'RE ASKING TO BE KILLED. SO, NO WAY. And, I still work today and take my produce load from East to west, and west to east. You get to travel, see America, and make an honest living. By the grace of God, so far so good.

Regardless of the price of the camera, It's always a good idea to record whatever the hell can happen out there.

I do want to install a dashcam, but it apparently voids the warranty of the car(Volvo)

7. If you are ever in a dangerous situation, take in every detail of your surroundings and your attacker.
8. Always call the police immediately no matter how quiet that mysterious sound downstairs/upstairs was

REALLY? My ups guy comes in all the time. If I’m not home, I leave a note to bring it inside. I’m in the country though. People are different out here.
I think sometimes they will rationalize not following that rule in extenuating circumstances. I had a UPS guy offer to carry an extremely heavy package into the house because it was pouring out and it was too heavy for me. We didn't have an awning over the porch at the house we lived in at the time, so the package would have gotten soaked. He came in like 15 feet and set it in the living room for me. I really appreciated that tbh.

My dad's been a truck driver for nearly 25 years, I remember years ago asking if he had ever had any strange experiences or ghost stories on the road, he told me a story about when he was picking up a load somewhere in the middle of God knows where, he said as soon as he got to the pick up spot and was waiting to be loaded, he had a feeling that he was being watched by something he couldn't see, said after he was loaded and left the area he still felt as if something was watching him in the truck, as soon as he demanded it leave in the name of Jesus, the feeling that he wasnt alone in his truck was gone and he felt safe, seemed to me like something evil tried to follow him back home

A true spiritual follower of Jesus can discern that easily. You got that right no they don't & what gets me nowdays is everybody calling all these doctors & nurses the true heros & they r I will agree with that but what or who people r forgetting to also uphold r the truckers cause without them no hospitals would have nothing they need to work with to be these heros ya know what I mean .Our truckers also deserves some of these freebies everybody is giving to the medical people or so I think so .
The scariest part of this video is that it makes me wonder what kind of smell my house has to outsiders.
But....truckers deal with a lot of crap to be able to bring us our food and other supplies; I always made sure my drivers knew that I appreciated them, and to anyone reading this who delivers anything- no matter how trivial- thank you!
my mom drove truck around oregon in the 80s, and back then she was the only woman on the team.. stories like these remind me why she packed heat and she kept her dog in the cab with her.

I dated a truck driver once many moons ago. I would ride with him on short haul trips. This one particular trip after he unloaded, we decided to take a mountain road back towards home. It was beautiful and we stopped to walk a short trail. We weren’t exactly dressed for the occasion and I had on tennis shoes instead of hiking boots but we walked on anyway. We soon came across another hiker who stopped to chat with us. He warned us that a possible serial killer was in around the area. He said 2 kids parking and making out were attacked but lived and there were 2 women that were camping out were murdered and left inside the tent. My friend and I thank the guy and we waited for him to continue walking until we could no longer see him. My friend decided we best just leave since it was dangerous to be in that area of a possible serial. We left. We found out the story the hiker told us was true. I never went back to that area again. The killer has not been found or arrested.

The first story is just a case of hypnagogic hallucinations. He was so tired he started seeing things that seemed very very real but was just his fear manifesting itself due to his fatigue.
This could be true, I’m a driver myself , I’ve been so tired at times I see a shadow infront of me and I always end up hitting the breaks even though I’m alone in traffic. It isn’t a scary feeling , it’s more like I’m falling asleep let me pull over and sleep.
Huh. When I get overtired I usually hallucinate. It started when I would drive long distances, I'd see weird animals in the median of the highway. Dali's elephants and the like. Sometimes the lines in the road go fractal. It was never scary-- more of an annoyance because it's such a distraction that you can't physically drive. Honestly I'm insanely lucky that I didn't just fall asleep and crash. Or, maybe I actually died, and hell for me is thinking grad school was a good idea.

My dad used to be a truck driver. He told me how one time he was really tired while driving at night and hallucinated this massive pirate ship going across the road, scared the life out of him. He also had to drive down a haunted road that other truckers said sometimes the ghost of a man would appear in the passenger seat. My dad never saw the ghost though. Still interesting

First story, I'm a truck driver myself and I've had hallucinations, pretty scary stuff, I thought a tree was falling onto the road in the distance, as I go closer the tree was completely fine.

Another commenter pointed out that it might be something similar to the "black dog" myth,which is apparently supposed to be an omen and if you see the black dog while driving then that means a crash will happen and you need to get off the road.
Personally,I think that it was a crazy guy who hopped onto the back of the truck when the driver first encountered him,but you might be onto something.

I started driving trucks in 1987. The weirdest thing ever to occur to me was getting a flat tire on an old highway one Sunday morning, but fortunately being able to roll to a tire shop. The old tire place seemed like a throwback from the 1940's or '50's. A rather elderly man changed my flat, while his radio console was playing music from what I guess was WWII. When he finished, I found out he didn't take debit cards and I didn't have any cash on me. I promised him I'd be back to pay him, but he just shrugged it off.
The next town was less than ten minutes away, so I got to an ATM, and drove back to the isolated tire shop. I am sure I could not have missed it, but I never found the old tire place again.

I'm a truck driver, my brother and I drive shifts. I drive 7pm to 7am. I've seen alot of weird stuff throughout the country. The first story, is very similar to something I've seen multiple times.
I was a truck driver for 15 years before I was injured and forced to give it up. Anyway, I was laid over having to wait until the next morning to pick up my next load. So, I went to a Flying-J truck stop somewhere near Carrollton and Garland, Tx. to eat, shower and rest. I backed my tractor-trailer into a parking spot as all truckers do. The parking lot was shaped like a “U” with the truck stop at the open end. This place probably had around 50-75 parking spots for trucks. I decided to rest first. I left my radio(CB) on with the squelch turned way up. So, I would only hear close to me. As I lay there watching my TV in my sleeper I suddenly heard a man’s voice on the radio(CB) yelling “Stop that lot lizard! She took my wallet when she got out of my truck!”. I looked out and sure enough a dark haired woman wearing shorts,a halter top and flip flops was quickly walking across the parking lot towards the exit. Right then several (truck) drivers climbed down out of their trucks and cut her off before she could leave. I heard her yelling and cussing and so were the drivers. She yelled “Here’s his G-damned wallet. Leave me alone!”. All of a sudden she got thrown to the ground. It was all concrete. Several other drivers had joined in when they started kicking and punching her. She screamed bloody murder but the kicking went on for almost 10 minutes. When they stopped and walked away she just laid there. I could see that her face was bloody and she was curled up in a ball. A driver held up the wallet and a short fat man grabbed it and said “Thank-you. That fuc*ing bitc* won’t do that shit again.” The woman never moved or made a sound. She just laid there. She almost got ran over as several of the drivers got the hell out of there. After about 2 hours a woman walked over to her and bent down to talk to her. She turned and ran into the Flying-J. Thirty minutes later 3 police cars pulled in. One cop walked over to her and turned right back and called an ambulance. She was dead. I just watched a 16 yr old girl get beat to death over $40.
That’s crazy, I went to high school in garland. Did you ever call the police? How was she able to lay there for 2 hrs before someone checked on her?

My dad is a trucker and on his return from France saw what looked like a light coming from under his truck. He phoned the police and he met them at a service station.
This 1 old copper found a young lad around 20 clinging to the underneath of his truck. Was creepy as hell

These trucker stories are real! I had one encounter. I was sleepy and there was a HUGE black bird that almost grazed my dash window. It was the biggest bird I’d ever seen in my life. It was the size of my front window! One time I seen a girl in a white dress too. That’s a rush that causes you to wake up quick! Didn’t know it but a year or two later I worked for a warehouse and started chatting with a couple truck drivers while they waited on their load. They told me that those were ghost. It’s designed to wake you up on the road when you don’t fall asleep. They leave when you wake up and gain energy. He then told me a couple stories of his own. Like the “Rattle Snake” story! He says every driver that rides the south highways knows about it. Some old trucker named Rattlesnake died coming around a mountain. He said a lot of the drivers were killed there bc they get tired and the turn is tight. I think it’s called dead mans curve or something. But rattlesnake comes on the radio system of the truck drivers. They can all hear him giving codes like “Rattlesnake Here”! And “10-4”. The drivers are use to it now but it still freaks these grown men out till this day! But he told me that it only happens when you’re driving while tired.

I’m actually so glad I came across this comment Because for quite some time I’ve wondered why when I drive at night & I’m tired I start “hallucinating” and seeing figures that aren’t really there but seem so real-and it is in fact spirits/ghosts you say? Well that’s amazing and kind of heart warming in that case since they’re there and designed to keep you alive! I was always curious as to why i saw these damn figures . It would scare tf out of me!

I once read a truck drivers story where he stopped in the middle of nowhere, somewhere in the central US. He found a tiny little village that looked relatively normal aside from mannequins in the road and in the stores and houses. Like a nuclear launch test site from back in the day. He was creeped out because the whole village had power and the place was maintained pretty well so somebody had to be there, but he found no one. He got out fast and went to the next town he found for supplies instead and nobody knew what he was talking about when describing mannequin town.
Another one discovered this small town he found also in the middle of nowhere. He couldn’t find anyone in the stores where he was trying to get supplies or anywhere for that matter. He checked all the stores and gas stations and nothing. He saw a diner and decided to check that place out. He opened the door and inside the place was full of people dressed like the 1950’s with an old jukebox to boot. I can’t remember exactly but I think it even went as far as all the waiters being black men, like it would sadly be like in that time as well. They all stopped what they were doing and just stared at the guy until he left and he booked it out of there. He went back to that place sometime later and couldn’t ever find it again
As a trucker I've seen and experienced some weird things... early one morning I was driving up a highway that is usually very quiet between 9pm and 5am. I was going through this one area at around 3 in the morning when I hear on my vhf radio a static cut in and then some whispering voices that I couldn't make out on the air for about 10 seconds then static and then it was gone. Never heard it again after. Another guy I was traveling with heard it as well and was equally creeped out by it as I was. Another time not too long ago I was on the same road around the same time in the morning, absolutely no traffic at all, when i see this ball of light over the trees to my left, it stayed there for about 5 seconds then darted over the trees and off into the dark in the blink of an eye. There is a brake check on that highway I refuse to get out of the truck at in the dark as well. I get an uneasy feeling around there so I never stay more than a few minutes. The entire area around is thick dark forest that you cant see into more than a few feet. Another time I was driving this same highway only much farther away from the previous incidents, it was a foggy morning in the dark as I'm driving past a few houses when suddenly I see this woman walking down the highway pop out of the mist, shes wearing a bra, and a skirt carrying a purse and it looked like she had makeup running down her face like she was crying. I only seen her for a few seconds but she never waved me down and i had no idea what i had just seen either. It took me a few minutes to process what i just saw as it was so strange and something I've never seen before. These are one of the many reasons I dont do nightshift driving and only drive in the dark for maybe an hour or 2 before sun up. I've seen too many weird things at night so I just stick to daytime driving.

I was a trucker for over 40 years and can attest to many times when I was near exhaustion, "seeing people and/or animals" on the road. It happened often enough that when it did happen I knew it was time to pull over and get some sleep before I killed someone.

It is better to stop if you're extremely sleepy than potentially do the potential stalkers job for them by crashing.

I hear ya. Worst I've seen is what looked like a guy stepping out in the road right in front of me with a kid, had to do a hard swerve. Luckily road was quiet. I looked in mirror, couldn't see anyone. Got out looked around, still nothing, not a soul about. That was freaky af. Not my first hallucination but by far one of the worst. I don't push by the initial tiredness anymore. Got away with it when I was young but not anymore, not risking it.
Yup, I’ve seen whales and people. I knew I was hallucinating because lack of sleep. As a truck driver or anyone really, it’s best to find a safe area and rest. It bothered me he kept trying to push through, even swerving at times
As a trucker there’s no way you would pull over behind a car with flashing light on side of the road to check on them.
never go into someones house as a delivery person. after they sign leave it on the porch. and tell them you can not enter per company rules than leave.

You would be surprised how long it takes to get a truck to plow through everything speed, plus the entire front end of the truck is made of fiber glass that's meant to break away easily in case of an accident. It's supposed to "safer" in some way

My dad used to be a long haul trucker when I was younger, he told me about this one night he was going through Northern Nevada on the highway heading through Idaho to Oregon when he started seeing these really large green and red lights in the sky zooming back and forth, mind you my dad has traveled up to Yukon before so he knows what Northern Lights look like, and he said these were definitely not it. After a while they just disappeared, and zooming out from behind him was this black SUV with no license pate, and two men in suits who just stared at him as they passed then cut him off. The part that made me believe the story was how my dad told me he reacted by flipping on his brights and laying on the big horn which caused them to speed off - the way he always reacts to dumbasses cutting him off
I still think it was just two weird ass dudes pointing their lasers in the sky trying to spook him but my dad is so adamant that the lights were huge and definitely not lasers

Nah. The truck driver wasn't armed...didn't know WHAT the person who said 'Get Out.' had....it doesn't say the trucker HEARD sounds of scuffling or even moving- just screaming as he LEFT.... He immediately called actually ARMED, official authorities-- matter of fact...the TRUCKER was wrong for going BACK IN himself, it could be said-- this is what makes me doubt this story a bit..... what 911 do u know would tell u to GO INTO a crime scene BEFORE cops get there, on ur own...???

My Pops was a brakeman for Sante Fe for his entire career. He still to this day swears he saw a bull standing in the middle of the tracks on it's hind legs. He said it was wearing something like a hat and just casually stepped off the tracks still on his hind legs. I don't know what he saw, but I'm pretty sure I wouldn't want to witness it myself!
Our minds are most susceptible to hallucinations when we're extremely tired, falling into sleep, or immediately after waking up (which is why you often hear about ghost stories that take place at night in bedrooms of homes people just moved into or are visiting; hotel rooms, and after someone woke up for some reason late at night). Given that in one of the stories the truck driver saw someone when he was exhausted and on the verge of falling asleep, and right after he woke up after stopping, I'd say it's highly likely it was in fact a hallucination.

@@wesleybrame6846 in order to get 10 miles in an hour on foot you'd have to consistently sprint at 10 mph or higher, its highly unlikely to run that fast for that long at such a fast speed. Trained runners usually only run between 1-2 miles at such a fast speed

I used to drive a very rural route for FedEx out in the East Texas pines. You wanna talk about hills have eyes in real life, thats what it was. Running late some nights after dark was genuinely terrifying. Never went inside anywhere, never got out of the truck unless there was light around and always carried a gun
