In Paige's defense she offered to leave her references and Claire straight ignored that and invited her to dinner instead. Paige just knew Claire was an idiot 😂
If anything about this film for me was the acting duel between Rebecca de mornay and ernie hudson in that powerful emotional and triggering scene. From what you showed in a clip discussing the behind the scenes on what ernie said, the larger content was rebecca was always in character and took time to prepare to be in character before filming, so you had two thespians dedicated and very good in their craft locked in an acting duel with eachother which makes it more thrilling for the viewer. An acting duel is usually when an actor tries to either out act the other or see if the other can keep up and stay in character. You often see them in several movies in the 90s when they pop up and before then. Copland with stallone is another example and even predator with carl weathers and arnie confrontation which carl won but arnie kinda did kept up with him.
I totally agree! The chemistry between Hudson and De Mornay was very good! Although Solomon was so much bigger than Paige, he always seemed so small in scenes with her. Hudson did an amazing job with emoting fear in this movie
You are killing me with this reaction! Peyton is such a classic villain…even watching this 30 years later, she had me gagging over all the crazy stuff she pulled. And when she tells Solomon “Don’t f-k with me, [r-word]”??? CHILLS. I miss these thrillers from the 80s/90s…they don’t make them like this anymore! Speaking of 90s thrillers, would love to see you react to either SINGLE WHITE FEMALE or MALICE with Alec Baldwin & Nicole Kidman!
Ernie killed it in this movie. When you see him in this then watch him in requiem for a dream, it even shows more how awesome he is. Great reaction love. Just found your channel. Love it!!
I've always enjoyed this one! Peyton is such a true Shakespearean villain... planting all these little seeds of doubt and suspicion into the mind of our protagonist. 😂
@@SistaGurlonFilms it also makes me think of another good thriller called Pacific Heights. Came out around the same time but with Michael Keaton playing a crazy tenant that just won't leave. Good performances and suspense - Keaton steps out of his comfort zone and plays a really good psycho! 😂
I loved Ernie Hudson on this role. Also, the perv doctor's wife turned into a full blown Karen and blamed the woman for her husband molesting her. But Michael is my favorite husband in a white led horror movie. 😆 Forgive my description. But he was supportive, faithful, and a good father.
Your description is right on! In Black led thrillers, I notice that the husbands are usually very much like Michael and a lot of times in White led films they are either dismissive, the cause of the terror, or just outright, are the killer 😂
@@SistaGurlonFilms 😂 this is so true especially the options for the husbands being the cause of the terror or the killer. The black horror movie husbands immediately listen.

Good Reaction! 🖒 This as well as the movies Fear and the Good Son are all part of the group that's probably the scariest because they're totally based within reality. Where the usual innocence becomes twisted up and turns into some really chilling thriller flicks.

She was very naive. Also, throughout the movie, she second guessed herself. And when she finally "trusted her instincts", & spoke up, she was actually wrong, & ended up publicly embarrassing herself. So I'm guessing that initially, didn't help her confidence in her own judgement. But Peyton expertly set that up.
@IChooseJesus9091 she was 99% to blame! Lol... some random woman that stopped a bus, you never checked out and you let take over your household while you're there!:

Hey Sista good afternoon!!! Definitely a great thriller movie, The Hand that rocks the cradle (1992)!!! Rebecca De Mornay was so creepy as a deranged nanny!!! Kinda felt bad for Peyton for losing her unborn child before she became demented. She pulled it off a great performance as well. Annabella Sciorra very talented actress, she was great both this and Jungle Fever. The asthma attack scene was so realistic bc I have a history of asthma as well over the years but I’m healthy now!!! Ernie Hudson is an underrated actor he’s really good in his roles!!! Satisfying villain death at the end she was fuckin psychotic!!! Great reaction ma’am♥️✨
I can see why Ernie Hudson wanted this role as it was a good character to play and test his acting chops however despite the role not being black in mind the very fact ernie did get to play him automatically puts it into an old hollywood troupe of the happy go lucky almost stupid black man or sassy black woman doing a demeaning job for rich white folk who is the voice of reason and conscious to these white folk who cant see whats going on. And sometimes will put themselves on the line to save their employer. Usually this troupe was seen and originated in nonsense like gone with the wind and similar films. Which oddly if you have seen it but spoilers ahead if you haven't makes django unchained quite clever because it takes this troupe upside down and reverses it and also makes it appealing to a black audience on their true feelings on what a character presented like this is really like.

Yes....I'm not about to allow ya'll to be traumatized by this movie!!!! Not on my watch! (in my Iyanla Vanzant voice lol)
Ernie killed it in this movie. When you see him in this then watch him in requiem for a dream, it even shows more how awesome he is. Great reaction love. Just found your channel. Love it!!
Ernie Hudson is really underrated in Hollywood! I hate that for him 😩 Thank you for watching!!!
That's Keith David in "Requiem For A Dream," not Ernie Hudson.
