First off, great reaction as always. Second: I've always preferred this film over the sequels because it was the most grounded in reality and terrifying. Also, it was very suspenseful. The only thing that always made me furious about it was the fact that it all could have been avoided if Derry had just minded his own business! What he should have done was drive to the nearest police station, report what he saw, and drive on to family for the holiday. I understand his compassion and empathy. I get it, and I, personally, would feel the same way. BUT! I would do it the smart way because one thing I know, and two fo sho, I'm going to live to see the next day, and I'm going to make it to the sequel! Because I don't time to be trying to play hero when I don't even know what I'm going up against. But overall, terrifying, suspenseful, creepy, and an excellent horror film. Classic.

About the silent behind the mirror scene, it looks like they filmed them not speaking because they really REALLY wanted to do that behind the mirror scene so bad that they only thought about the audience not hearing them on the creeper's side, but realized that it didn't make since unless they showed the siblings side at least once. But realized after filming and everybody went home, that they should have had them speak dialogue first incase they needed it. LOL

The problem with this movie is that the 2 main characters were SO FREAKING STUPID! Everything they did was just absolutely unbelievably stupid, it removed all empathy for their plight. I just couldn't feel bad for them at any point. In fact, i kinda wanted them to die.

The problem with this movie is that the 2 main characters were SO FREAKING STUPID! Everything they did was just absolutely unbelievably stupid, it removed all empathy for their plight. I just couldn't feel bad for them at any point. In fact, i kinda wanted them to die.
