Idk, the premise seems cliche, trite and overused. I mean, they're just trying to revamp their menu to stay in business? Seems like it lacks substance. And why do they always have the Latino/a character with the chip on their shoulder (in this case the lesbian chick), who defies their strictly traditional parents? Lol. I find this amusing bc, as a culture, I think Latinos are more likely than others to defy our parents and do whatever tf we want. I know so many Latinos who ended up marrying outside our culture, ended up in open relationships, have kids w/different partners etc.
Just watched a couple of episodes. I'm impressed. The characters are growing on me and is quite relatable to my latino upbringing. The dialogue is witty and keeps you interested. ;)
As a darker Latina I can’t tel you how happy I am to see Julissa 😭 🇵🇦 🇵🇷 it was rare to see someone with curly hair and skin like mine on tv growing up. I’m glad things are changing.
Ever heard “don’t judge a book by its cover?” Let’s not judge the show based on a single trailer. Give it a chance. As someone raised Boyle Heights I’m interested/excited to see which locations they decided to showcase.
Gentefied/gentrified, anyone can. There was a lot of activity/activism down in Boyle Heights when/with artist from DTLA coming closer to the hood and taking properties and the rest of the consequences it brings. DTLA and real estate mongers from east coast changed up the landscape and businesses in the flats (what used to be DTLAs industrial zone now an artist loft retreat lol. I don't think it'll last because all roads eventually end up in DTLA and therefore have to share the streets with all other residents. I was in a pilot show once about a white kid being raised by a mexican nanny and showed how assimilated to mexicans he had become; the show never aired, though it was a start at portraying other stories we need the world to see. Well I need to see this show since I saw it first hand on Brooklyn and Fickett where our studio is located.

They always get other Latinos to play us, But if Mexican People were stealing opportunities from these "Latinx" people they'd drag us, They'll never be a movie or show about Mexicans & Chicanos that has a full Mexican / Chicano cast. They always gotta get outsiders who don't even like us or didn't grow up around our culture to mock us & Make money from us

I am currently binge watching this series on a Friday night. So far I am enjoying this series. Some people might be turned off by the English subtitles because Spanglish is spoken a lot. I don't have anything against gays or lesbians, however, ever series on television seem to have a gay or lesbian character. The black lesbian isn't Mexican. I assume she is Dominican, Puerto Rican, or Afro Cubana.
By the way like the other comment said she from the Bronx and is Dominican but with that being said there are Black Mexicans if you did not know and if you did not know this you should google it or youtube it so you can be more informed
This show is so amazing.. i can really relate to the characters. I was pleasantly surprised at the chemistry between the characters. Fyi, that girl who plays homies gf is so beautiful😍😍
I just finished watching all 10 episodes, and I'm sold. Such a spot-on topic with the changes happening in LA communities. I love the characters, rarely I say this......all of them. Love the direction, editing and dialogue. Just one little thing.....is the girl cook with the ring on her nose supposed be Salvadoran? I thought I got a glimpse that she is. If she is on the show, you have so much material there that you're missing. First, the character has to be more Salvadoran, the current one isn't, not in speech, mannerism etc. The writers can get a lot of funny dialogue, misunderstanding on customs and language street talk. If you need ideas on the character...shoot me a line. I can't wait for the next season.

Just finished Season1 loved it!!! Reminds me a lot of Kims Convenience store netflix series. Both real life struggles and warm hearted. Onto Season2 now! 👍🏽🙌🏽💯

I absolutely LOVE this show so much. Erik is the Latino daddy all should strive to be. I'm glad my teacher had us watch this show for our Chicano studies class instead of just reading a textbook. And I hope a season 2 is in the works, cause I CAN'T HANDLE THAT CLIFFHANGER YOU GUYS PULLED
I will give this series a chance because Joseph Julian Soria is in it. I almost didn't recognize him because he's let his hair grow. He was good in the 'Crackle' t.v. series, 'The Oath'. However, I prefer that Netflix do more movies than series.

Tried watching this show but I couldn’t. It’s like seeing a person trying to dig their way out by digging deeper. The high dysfunctionality, and self-sabotage most characters displayed gave me anxiety.😂 It’s tragic.

Tried watching this show but I couldn’t. It’s like seeing a person trying to dig their way out by digging deeper. The high dysfunctionality, and self-sabotage most characters displayed gave me anxiety.😂 It’s tragic.

Saw the promo on Netflix days ago and thought it looked fire!!! Still need to actual watch it but it looks so promising and funny. and kinds different from all the other shows around . and most importantly I AM LIVING for the diversity shown in Netflix shows recently!! latinos, asians, south asians ♥️ yes representation!! KEEP IT UP
