My best was not even the performances but that little girl at 15:39. she was so excited. and then she started shouting "press the golden buzzer" and the whole crowd took it up chanting. then when the golden buzzer was pressed she went into an overdrive. It was so epic. It showed the quality of the performances

For the more mentally evolved, or those who ride on their shoulders to see farther however this is far from true. Talent for the most part is a well practiced expression of one's innate abilities that one has been pushed to their limits by deliberate training to express. According to Dean Keith Simonton, a distinguished Professor of Psychology at UC, talent may be considered any package of personal characteristics that accelerates the acquisition of expertise, or enhances performance given a certain amount of expertise. In other words, talent allows a person to "get better faster" or "get more bang for the buck" out of a given amount of expertise. In a recent study, David Z Hambrick and colleagues found that deliberate practice only explained 30% of the differences in performance ratings (including music) leaving most of the variation unexplained by other factors. On of these factors may be our intelligence, as measured by the 'intelligence quotient' which for the bulk of it not acquired. The part of intelligence that is nurtured depends on the environment in which that nurturing takes place. Whether or not one gets that environment is not determined by the person himself or herself. A child born with an innate ability to sing in an underdeveloped country where he has to work in a coal mine starting age 6 will nto get the same nurturing environment that a child born to let's say born to a musician in France. There are other innate characteristics that come into play. The kid who is slightly taller than the others, or who can read just a bit better than others, will get picked first for the basketball team, or put into a slightly more advanced reading group. Over time, the ability level of the kid who was selected for advanced instruction and the kid who wasn't will widen. So No One, even if talent is "made" as you put it, not all its making can be chalked up to "being good at something" and "try and be good" (3) It is very becoming to disagree as crassly as you did. If you don't agree with someone it does not mean you have to lash out at them by calling them "pathetic" ... This puts a question mark across both the breadth of your vocabulary and your ability to explain your stance intelligently.
