    This is really beautiful. I saw a similar technique and they sprayed the silver paint with diluted vinegar. It adds to the distressing when the black paint shows through it.

      Yes, the black paint showing through definitely gives it that little bit extra of authenticity! Thanks for watching.

    I already made vintage mirrors some years ago with another technique. But now I will do it again because I just love the idea using your wonderful stamps for that! As I did it I used stencils and decoupage paper. As the mirror medium I used Mirror Mist from Pentart. Unfortunately it is very expensive and you get just 9ml in a bottle. So you need 2-3 bottles or more for a huge mirror. It's alcohol based and I distressed it with vinegar which worked very well. But because its price I only made two mirrors and never did it again 😅 I don't know Krylon but I think it's solvent based? Unfortunately, I don't find it on Amazon here in Germany so I will use Pentart Mirror Mist again 'cause I love your stamps and btw all your other products! Thank god I found an Online Shop who sells your amazing products here ❤ and you found a new fan 😉 Thank you for the inspiration I will try this myself!

    instead of patting, add a technique I invented. Take your cloth and make it wrinkly. Then roll it into a hotdog shape. Then take the cloth roll and roll over the flat surface. It makes another dimension of distressing with the combination of patting. I use this method to do my distressing. Alone with some flicking.

    I'm never able to get that much ink on my stamps.......did I not condition enough?????

    • @IronOrchidDesigns
      @IronOrchidDesigns  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That may be the problem. Try conditioning again and see if you get better results - or try re-inking your pad and store it lid side down so that the ink stays on the surface. You could also reach out to your stockists and show them what's going on - I'm sure they'd be happy to help you get the results you're looking for. :)

    How do you seal it?

    • @IronOrchidDesigns
      @IronOrchidDesigns  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For this project we didn't seal it! We used the looking mirror spray. The sealer you use will depend on your personal preference and whether your project will be indoors or outdoors😊

    So confusing. Did you put the mirror finish on top of the stamps or on the opposite side?

      @@IronOrchidDesigns Ladies, I'd love that but would need to find the right frame...how much fun you must have...I'm stuck working right now but am in the process of getting things packed to put in storage so I have the room I need in order to focus on doing what you are doing..love it and am "drooling" to get started....since I don't have a mirror at least right now to do this to, let me tell you what I "see"... I see black with gold / silver scrolling entwined on the mirror and I love carved frames so see the scrolling cascade onto that frame ....you're both artists, so I think you can "see" what I am envisioning. YES? Where are you located? I'm in Houston. I've been painting furniture for years but nothing fancy like you do, just painted things to match the walls because I don't love dark furniture....I can hardly wait to get chalk paint in lots of colors, appliques and ....do it....I used to make wedding cakes so I have lots of molds just waiting to be used again!!!
