Nice! I used to visit the lake back in early 2000’s. We’d ride our quads and hangout on the sand beach. Heard stories from my Grandmother about how it used to be. Apparently the rollercoaster is under water now.

The park changed ownership a handful of times over the years. My parents used to take my sister and me when we were kids in the early 80’s. It was very run down at that point, and the attractions were minimal. They had an arcade, roller coaster, some kiddie rides, and my favorite which was a tilted house where the floors in all the rooms were on an angle, and you had to make it across the room to get to the door to enter the next one. By the late 80s, everyone had cable tv, video games and nightclubs had opened in the area. The focus of entertainment shifted to the high tech experience, and small theme parks died out. Owners couldn’t keep up with the maintenance and insurance costs, too.

I spent more time at San Souci Park, but went to Rocky Glen several times.I spent many hours listening to WARM radio. This video brought back many good memories. Too bad it is just memories-wish it could be the real thing once again.

San Souci was my favorite. I loved the wooden coaster and the trampolines. Great memories

Some very fine reminiscences. So interesting to hear this fellow, Mr. Shaver, share his memories. My fiancée and I crossed paths with Bobby Rydell in May of 2014 at a dinner concert where James Darren was appearing and Mr. Rydell mentioned a 'concert upstate' in passing and it's possible that he could have been alluding to his gig at Rocky Glen.

Harry West, The Harry West Show! I will never forget the intro when my mother would have it on every single morning before we leave for school..

People today, younger "folks" (as corrupt Brandon might say) can't appreciate how cool and hip WARM radio sounded compared to the Horrible other stations on the dial at the time. Good luck finding real rock in Da Valley before they came on our air. It was Easy Listening, Big Bands and Polkas. Who else found even Better listening at night from CKLW-WBZ-WLS-AND best of all WKBW-with Joey Reynolds? (who ironically finished his career being picked up on WARM as a syndicated late night show)

If not for Rocky Glen, I probably wouldn't be here. Something about my parents meeting at a dance there...

I noticed an identical segment of ladies in a group that are also in the Willow Grove Park video ! They appear 37seconds into this video. Why are segments borrowed from other park videos ? Willow Grove Park was in the Philadelphia area, not Scranton.

The park didn't start with Ghost Town in the Glen. It existed way before then and way more popular, going back to the 1880's.
