Now these are my type of cars. I love the shape of these classic Ford cars and seeing the inside of this car makes me imagine driving it everywhere with full pleasure!
My father had a 2.0L in beige. Bought as an ex demonstrator from the local Ford dealer. Dead basic, but very comfortable and an excellent tow car. Upgraded to a mk 3 2.0 scorpio hatchback with manual gearbox and electric everything.
loved these back in the day, had a 2.8 rust bucket in blue, thought I was the dogz @#££@. you every thought of popping the bonnet and showing engine bay on your vids
Lovely Granada ❤ I own a 2.0 L estate, its the most comfortable car I ever had. It's from 1982 with the Pinto 4 cilinder engine, the previous owner added a 5 speed gearbox wich gives it a good miles per gallon range😊 Mine is dove grey 🥰
Are you sure the 2.0 litre only had 74Bhp. I thought the Ford Pinto 2.0 had around 100 BHP and the 1.6 pinto had around 75 BHP (90 BHP with twin choke carb).
Yes they are rare like you say many have been used on the track. Ford did actually make a special Granada for use as taxi's with special features and prices!
Wow that sure is clean ! Looks new , had a few in my days even 2.8 ghia x but my favourite was a standard estate model in pale green it was bomb proof I loved it 👍
Very nice car! My uncle used to own an early mk2 2.3L, he still praises that car today. In the village where I grew up, I used to see a late mk2 2.8 Injection Estate! Very rare car, never seen another example.
Looks modern inside for its age I have worked on an seen meny of these but never the basic 2.0l we had a 2.0l estate cream colour I like the 2.8 special with the white alloys an the recaro seats front an back spoilers mint an rare..
L for Luxury...steel wheels, 4 speed box, manual window winders, no FM or cassette...but lots of chrome and a ciggie lighter! The blanking plates between the cig. lighter and fan speed knob just rub it in that you have the povvy model...
Relative luxury - base Fiesta Escort of the period didn't get a clock (or cigar lighter, passenger side mirror - internally adjustable, vanity mirror, folding rear armrest, front centre console with armrest, intermittent wipers - variable delay, instrument illumination dimmer, front & rear interior lights - 4 door operated and twin rear fog and reversing lights etc.)
Amazing condition. I like the Ghia better though because of its looks (wheels, front and rear spoiler, extra lights and so on). upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/f/f3/1982_Ford_Granada_2.8_Ghia_X_(14338695644).jpg
KGF Classic Cars I didn't realise that Ford made such a sluggish 2.0 Pinto engine but apparently they did produce some detuned economy versions for various vehicles over the years . Most Capri , Sierra , Cortina 2.0 pintos were rated around 100BHP. As a base fleet model of the time fuel economy was the priority as fuel prices had increased in real terms considerably.
@@glpilpi6209 it was more to do with company car tax in the UK at the time.. anything over 2 litres was hammered so there were a lot of executive type cars with tiny engines to get the tax break
Thanks for all the great comments on this wonderful Granada!
KGF Classic Cars ive never seen quality cars like these,i wish i had the money for one

I have a mk2 2.8 ghia sapphire. I love it will all my heart. Wooow such a beautiful, clean car. That car is brand new.
I owned one! Luxury at a lesser price. Happy memories and very reliable!
Very nice!
I really enjoy looking at these vids, some of them take me right back. Please pop the bonnet open though.
Thank you for your comment all our cars have a album of over 70 photos on our flickr page where you can see all areas of the car!

Oh nice!
The Granada mk2 inspired a line of ford cars in Brazil in the 1980s and 1990s. The car is called Ford Del Rey. search...
Thank you for your comment!

Not sure, we will check
The 2.0 was 100HP,
I always saw them as a luxury car but that was literally a gear stick and steering wheel, lovely condition though.
Thank you for your comment!
Its sad that most of these were used as taxi's and banger racing. Good to see a few escaped it.
Yes they are rare like you say many have been used on the track. Ford did actually make a special Granada for use as taxi's with special features and prices!
I drive one as my first car, my dad has a Mk. 1 he has as a daily :)
but they did rust though, like nearly all '80s cars, and when you have a bill of £500 to fix a car that's not worth that when fixed, they get binned.
Wow that sure is clean ! Looks new , had a few in my days even 2.8 ghia x but my favourite was a standard estate model in pale green it was bomb proof I loved it 👍

What a legend of a car...
Thank you Paddy, we agree!

Thank you for sharing. These cars are very rare and special.
Had four of them back in the day great cars! 👌
Clock doesn't work bless it😂😂
Its the 'L' spec, the clock needs winding up.
This will get noticed out on the road. Lovely, just Wow!
All those dash blanks to remind you how poor you went! ;)

Yes, this is a basic car.
ANOTHER TIME MACHINE!
MUSEUM ,PIECES❤👍
Yes indeed!
Wow 4 speed and no rev counter.... and what would have been In the 2 round blanks between the cigar lighter and the fan speed knob ?
This was a basic model!
Not blanks - oil pressure light & diesel glow plug light ( or high series oil guage & ammeter).
@@aztimms may as well be a blank if its just for a light.
Cruise control and heated drivers seat😂

I’d own that Red Ford Granada as well in 5 Speed Manual & Automatic
Good choice!
This car looks fresh from the showroom. Would love to know the history of this car and how its in such superb condition
Explanation given in the 'History' section.
Just think of Cowley from the professionals
Steve Hillier Nobody would dare give Cowley a poverty-spec model like this.
and all controls function correctly including the Quartz clock…. 2:10?
Thank you for your comment!
You would have to spend north of a £100K to get the level of ride comfort that this 38 year old Grannie offers.
They are super comfy!
What's the crazy though of just one doormirror?
Optional extra!
Standard in rest of Europa!
Wow a 2.0 litre manual granada this is very rare. Nearly all went on banger racing circuit
Sadly yes thank you for your comment!
What a beauty! :)
Indeed!

@@KGFClassicCars lovely example of the model though!
thing has an analogue clock instead of a tachometer?
Yes its a base model no luxuries!
Relative luxury - base Fiesta Escort of the period didn't get a clock (or cigar lighter, passenger side mirror - internally adjustable, vanity mirror, folding rear armrest, front centre console with armrest, intermittent wipers - variable delay, instrument illumination dimmer, front & rear interior lights - 4 door operated and twin rear fog and reversing lights etc.)

The rear looks like a Mercedes SL
it so does.
where is the cd player ?
it simply does not have one that age

Yeah I've always loved the Mk2 Ghia but this 2.0L is in great shape for its age.
😍😍😍😍
paper jumpsuit, instead of...
Not even a radio!
Yes basic model!
Looks like a radio at 2:55.
Has a terry 2 knob. Has no rev counter though.
There is, but MW/LW only.
it does have a radio

Gutless wonder with a 2 litre 4 pot..
Yes the 2 litre was slightly under powered!

Sorry...But WHO in their right mind would buy a 2.0 L...KGF...Your valeting must be out this world 😂
The slightly under powered version but rare cars these days!
I think I would as a daily 👍🏻
I used to have a 2.8i Ghia X and the fuel economy was beyond utterly atrocious
