    My advise...Mull over it. Then order the exact truck you want with whatever options and color you like. Many of the options on that truck you don't need and are a waste of money as well as more to go wrong in the future. Don't be in a hurry and shop between dealers. You can email and work out the deals without traveling all over the place.

    I'm like these other guys, it's crazy spending $70 to $80 thousand dollars for something that will depreciate $5000.00 as soon as you drive it off of the lot! Not to mention all the expenses of maintaining a diesel engine, I wouldn't keep it past 100,000 miles cuz the Duramax will not last like a Dodge Cummins.. I'd buy a good used truck for under $10,000 & buy a new John Deere Gator for hauling buckets or buy a new John Deere tractor... something that makes you money & doesn't depreciate!! There's 2 things in life that will never make you money & that's a house & a vehicle & they both have alot of maintaining maintenance all the time! Just my opinion of getting older & wiser :-) It's your money though...

    Also if you get a 3500 better be getting some bigger trailers

    If that's the truck you want Ryan, buy it. All that matters is if it fits your needs, aa long as you can afford it. Do you homework any brand and model, they all have their good points and flaws. I'll tell you what the old man tells me, "in farming, you have to learn to separate your wants from your needs".

    The hill descent is for steep downhill travel under 30 mph and it uses the braking system. A 3500 Denali seems like a lot to haul a few buckets of corn, especially if you don't tow, but it's your money to enjoy as you please.

  • @wvrockcrusher
    @wvrockcrusher 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Nice truck indeed! Too much garbage on that truck for farm work. I am a firm believer in less is more (value). Order yourself up a 3500 work truck package without all the bells and whistles and you'll thank yourself later down the road not to mention save quite a bit of money. I've had a fancy truck and the novelty wore off pretty quick when the bells and whistles started going wrong. I found myself asking why do I need this extra crap on my truck to haul feed or seed corn? Answer: I didn't. Just my 2 cents, not telling you what to do, just my experience. Have fun!

  • @dimduk
    @dimduk 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    I just bought a Silverado 1500 and I love it, they have leather and rubber inside instead of my Fords plastic and cloth. The voice command is a little sketchy though but mechanically the 5.3 liter Chevy is much better then the Ecoboost F150 or Toyota Tacoma's V6's I have owned. For farm work you want the 3500HD, it's better to have the extra capacity and not need it then need it and not have it.

  • @catyellow6054
    @catyellow6054 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    buckets? lol....ive put out more feed out in a Kawasaki mule and Polaris ranger than that thing will ever see...across rough ass Central Texas, you don't need a 70,000$ truck to do that...if you want to buy a nice new truck just say it, don't make up bullshit excuses about it...just curious but does that 60,000$ GPS attachment to your combine really pay off if you only make 5,000$ a year? how much more does it make your corn grow?you can't bullshit a bullshitter bro

    I drive a 5 ton box truck daily at work with a Cummins backed with an Allison auto trans and its one bad bitch!! It never gives me any problems and has gobs of power. But, my personal truck is a Powerstroke! :)

  • @georgiaswampman4542
    @georgiaswampman4542 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    That's a expensive truck to haul "buckets". Its you money, youtube must be paying very good. I personally upgraded last year and I wish I could have bought a diesel, but I looked at the expense of the diesel, all the new problems associated with diesels,like DEF and all this new emission crap. I settled on a F250 with 6.2 gas, it will pull anything I have to pull and mileage is ok, not as good as diesel, but I looked at the long term costs and I think and hope I made a good decision. That truck is twice what mine cost, I got a basic XL and hey its good enough for me.

  • @ishmael3506
    @ishmael3506 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    70 Thousand dollar trucks are for Suburban wankers like me that don't have room for a tractor. That said I have two GMCs in the driveway with combined 500,000 miles with no costs other than oil changes and brakes. The 6.0 liter gas will out last the body, interior and your will to drive it. Cheers and enjoy.

  • @venam1991

    Maybe farming isn't so bad if you're going to buy a truck for $65,000 to use on a farm! Lol! I own a 16 2500HD 6.6 and love it but I wouldnt use a new truck on a farm?! But you can do whatever your wallet allows you!

    You DO NOT NEED that glamour wagon. You need a farm work utility truck. Save your money from going into a piece of new glitzy, techno-complicated crap. There are absolutely great deals in the used sector. Good value for your money.

    "I need a work truck"......... buys a 70k denali..... not hating just saying there's much better trucks out there for working out of around the 20k price point. I would get something DEF free or at the very least delete it. DEF kills

  • @chevyon37s

    Damn.... some people here think having a nice farm truck is silly... having a nice farm truck is great if you're not a moron and take care of it. All of ours have leather and heated seats, etc. they still put out hay with a bale bed, tow, check cows, and see plenty of mud without a problem.

  • @jasonrowe268
    @jasonrowe268 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Do whatever you think is right. It'll start off as the 'car' for going to town shopping, parts and feed from the farm stores and still do light chores on the farm. Eventually in 5 years + you can downgrade this one to farm use and get another or an SUV. A car or SUV you have to sell when it gets old as their no good on the farm.

  • @brandoncaldwell95
    @brandoncaldwell95 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    You dont beed a denali awd truck. Its screw you over in the mud among other things. You need a basic 3500 4x4 work truck. You might love to have a really nice truck, but its not reasonable being a farmer. $65k for this doesnt make up for a $50k dodge that you get more done having the same and better amenities..

    Doesn't matter who's paying for it, just tough hauling wagons and sliding buckets in the bed and using it for normal farm work. I have one and it's difficult keeping it clean in normal living , let alone farming, done that till I was 30 also. Look in the cab of your tractors.

  • @chorton38305

  • @bedspread02
    @bedspread02 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    based on what you have said about your needs with a truck I think that you would be better off with a 4x4 1500. The heavy loads are already being hauled by the heavy trucks and the farm tractors. Save yourself a lot of money and get a nice half ton.

  • @bearkatljl
    @bearkatljl 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    The scoop doesn't cool the engine or the transmission. It brings cooler air into the intake. Colder air creates more hp than warmer air. GM had to do something the Cummins and the Powerstroke were getting too far ahead of the Duramax when it comes to performance and capability. Nice truck though love that blue. The 2017 Duramax is much improved over the old ones at least according to the different reviews I seen and read on the internet.

    "very nice truck" that is the "Cadillac" of trucks. People got to remember, you do photography on the side and generate income. You can't be showing up in a old beater. We don't know your finances, we can't make the call. If you remember I said a pick-up would be my choice. It's going to double as your car and your truck. My wife and I do the same thing. If you get one, and plan to keep it long term, do the annual rustproofing. It's been our best alternative. A lot cheaper then getting body work done at 10 years old. It's a lot of truck but if you can swing it, go for it. KIT d

    I think you should buy one that is just a couple years old because when you buy that new the price goes down a lot and you could get one cheaper if it is used but that is just my opinion

    No doubt a nice truck. You are the best person to determine the best use of your dollars.... and you do deserve to enjoy the comfort you can afford!

    You should have checked out the new Ford Super Duty. And you can get them pretty much the way you want them you just have to order them the way you want them.

    Get a ram with a cummins. The Rams maintain there powertrain temps better then GM and are still cheaper with more working options.

    75000$ waste when you can buy a 10000$ truck that will do all you need

    The good thing about a new truck is that you can stretch out the payments if you want to and they hold their value way longer than cars.
