Your ladder experience mirrors mine. At my age I need to stay off them, although I still use A frame ladders too. My physician told me that after 60, you should stay off ladders. The wrench cleanup is great. It looks better than new. I already subscribe to Paul Shinns channel on Model A Fords. The first go-to channel for Model A info for me. Excellent maintenance tips for Model A fans, and you can see the obvious fun and joy he and his wife Tina have with their cars. Hawks and falcons started roosting in the taller buildings here in Cleveland. Nice lofty 'cliff-like' environments with plenty of prey to eat - named pigeons. They definitely thinned the pigeon population! I too love the model A and wanted one, but then saw a video of a gentleman driving one - clutch, choke, etc. I never did learn how to drive stick, so it seemed a bit over complicated to me. Yes, I know, I missed out on learning how to drive stick like the older folks did.

Falls are one of the biggest causes of death in the US, it's mostly older people and sometimes it's slow, they break a hip and can't heal then eventually weakens them so much they die and often it's hit to the head and their done for in a few hours or days. I can think of 3 family members that died from falls, two were in their 80s and one in her 90s.
I'd like a Model AA Truck for the Farm.

I agree with the ladders. My nephew came up to repair my roof with my 10 foot ladder. I can't get on the roof anymore because of neuropathy on my left side. Growing up In the cabinet and upholstery shop I was use to working with the quality of delta machinery. That's what I own today. My sewing machine is a pfaff 145. My opinion is I have the best. I told you the story of my father saying wood handle screwdrivers were the best. When I split the handle on a brand new never used flat blade he walked away with his hands in the air
One of my favorite stories with my dad. He said don't buy a tool you have to replace after you buy it. That's why I stay away from harbor freight. Thank you

As to your ballance I have it some but there are some exercises on here to help get your ballance back. It's important now because hips break and that can be it. Think back to what you don't do any more. For me it was not walking on rough ground and climbing trails. City sidewalks are good for plain exercise but not keeping your mind working terrain changes.

What a Fantastic clean up and restoration of that vintage Knox spanner 🔧 wrench. I think that offset was put in that spanner wrench to give more Clearance for the ✋hand especially in awkward and tight areas or rusted on nuts. Great to see the Dake in action to straighten up those bends👍. I like how you did the bluing on the inside of the wrench to embellish the lettering, fantastic job!👍.That polished look you did to the wrench 🔧 I think looks way better then the original forging done at the factory 🏭👍. I think the condition it was in you knocked that one ☝️ out of the park 🏟⚾️⚾️⚾️👍👍.
I will have to subscribe to Paul’s channel to see how he repairs those model A cars , seems to me it will be interesting to see how he does it. And along the way they tell you the history of the car and how it operates and how some of the moving parts of the car were made up of , very interesting to see.👍 Another great shot of Old Glory 🇺🇸 flying in the breeze. Before October last year I was eating typical American diet. Not much veggies. Never liked veggies. Now I only eat beef butter bacon and eggs with some kefir goat yogart, sour kraut, kimchi for gut health. Lost 82 lbs so far cutting out carbs, startches, sugars etc...The fat from the meat, butter and tallow keeps me full and not needing to snack. Usually only need one meal in my eating window then have a cup of kefir later or maybe cup of soup kraut.

I used to have quite a few hawks around my house because of the pigeon coop, but my pigeons were usually faster than the hawk. However, there were tons of young ones and stray pigeons that would keep the hawks away from mine. 😃👍

Whenever I hear "Model A" I get this stuck in my head:
"Have you heard this story of the Hot Rod race, when Fords and Lincolns was settin' the pace, that story is true I'm here to say,
I was drivin' that Model A."
I'm not complaining, there's a whole lot worse songs to have stuck in your head.

I would love to subscribe to Paul's channel but to late my model A pickup in my avatar is because I own it. Paul is sort of the unofficial guru of the Ford Model A so of course I subscribed years ago lol
SC being serious a Ford Model A it's one of the funnest cars you will ever to own and to work on its not like a modern car whatsoever, Henry Ford and his engineers designed the car to be worked on with basic hand tools by someone such as a farmer that had basic mechanical ability but wasn't necessarily a mechanic so it makes the car such a great classic as long as you understand it's a 90ish year old car so it in stock form isn't a race car in modern terms
Also Believe it or not for being a 90 year old car it still has great aftermarket support not only in the Hot Rod community which it definitely has aftermarket support because behind the 1932 ford the Model A is probably just as iconic if not more so. There is also a robust stock car parts community there is companies like Vintique or Ecklers a dozen others that either specialize in licensed Ford reproduction parts or performance parts ranging from the discreet and period correct to modern 12 volt conversions and electronic ignition systems or show winning restoration parts.
Also there is tons of stores around the country that sell the parts so you might not have to buy stuff online but you could get it locally I would imagine you living in New York this would be the case.
Anyways my point is if you can afford it I would highly recommend buying a Ford Model A you can get in a driving project usually for about 6 or 7k a fairly clean older restoration or original car for about 10 to 12 or a show ready restoration usually for about 20K (obviously certain body styles might be worth more or less but all are pretty reasonable for the most part) and to top it all off there is two door sedans four-door sedans coupes roadsters, pickups, big 2 ton trucks, postal vehicles, Woody station wagons and just about any other body style you could imagine...
Oh and how could I forget since you like swap meets, there is a swap meet in Hershey Pennsylvania and one in Carlisle Pennsylvania both of which are pretty well-known to be the swap meets of swap meets if you're into vintage car stuff, unfortunately they are a little far for me to drive to but they are fairly close to you, but I got a good one in Turlock California that is pretty close to a West Coast equivalent...
At any rate if you choose to go down that Model A path ever let me know I wouldn't say I'm the most knowledgeable person but I definitely know a little bit about the car and I have no problem sharing the knowledge. Also from my little bit of experience with Paul Shinn he is a wealth of knowledge and he is pretty good about answering people that comment on his videos.

It’s so funny but a bunch of people from our group are already subscribed to Paul- It amazes me how we all seem to share similar interests. One of the reasons I wanted a Model A is because of the simplicity and parts availability. I have an owned a few antique cars and it becomes a real hassle trying to find common parts for an uncommon car! Plus I’m a fan of Henry Sr. 😂👍

    • @AtomicReverend
      @AtomicReverend 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@ScoutCrafter I completely understand about how hard it is to get parts for certain classic cars. As an example My latest "Summer fling" is a 1952 Kaiser deluxe that I think got parked sometime in the late 1960s, I am hoping I will be buzzing around the local neighborhood in the next week or two but it will be far from clean because things like weatherstripping or correct interior upholstery patterns are next to impossible to find.
I didn't necessarily want the car but I put a stupid low bid on it at a local auction and I won it (I paid $52 for it before auction fees lol), I really like the strange and offbeat cars (Rambler Studebaker type stuff ) but this car is a whole different beast when it comes to getting parts that are not engine related (the engine came in a lot of vehicles because it is a continental brand), needless to say eBay is my friend and one piece of chrome trim has cost me more than the car lol.
Anyways with a Ford Model A you will not have that problem, pretty much any pre war ford is pretty easy to get parts for minus a few pieces of dash trim or rare options like stock early 1930s radios they cost just about as much as the car so not too many of them were sold but for the most part parts are extremely attainable and common and they are not too badly priced...
Now that being said I would recommend buying the most complete car you can find, even though replacement parts are cheap they can add up pretty quickly if you buy a toilet of a vehicle like I did with my 1931 pickup.
As for value, because they are so popular in the hot rod crowd, value wise a roadster and coupe probably have the strongest value and a two-door (tudor) or four-door (fordor) is probably the softest even though they cost more to restore, from a drivability standpoint the two-door sedan is probably the best for a bigger guy, the hardest part is getting your feet off the running board into the floor of the car there's only a 12-inch space but once you're in there it's pretty comfortable. The worst A to fit in is probably the pickup as the cab is just too small although it's part of what makes it really "cute" according to my mother and my ex as they both like the pickup the best.
Anyways you made a TH-cam channel that pretty much is for every man that likes old and vintage guy stuff, I keep hoping you will monetize yourself and make some money off this great community you started, you deserve it and you could probably easily afford said Model A if you did so or that house in the country but either way I just want to thank you for taking the time to make these videos and it's really cool that you respond especially with the amount of Subs you have these days (I think you were around 2k when I came across your channel).

Yep, the adjustable spanner wrench was bent on purpose. I know exactly why they bent the handle. Spanner nuts on things like machine spindles are often in a confined space and there is almost no way to get the wrench onto the nut and be able to get your hand onto the handle at the same time.
I would have left the handle bent as-is. Think of all the cussing you will avoid in future.
