- We are in Antwerp (Dutch: Antwerpen), the second largest city in Belgium (after Brussels). Antwerp has some beautiful historical buildings in Flandern as it was a financial and trade center in the 16th century.
On this windy walking tour we start at overlooking the city's Scheldt river. We cross the Ernest van Dijckkaai and walk the Suikerrui street to the ciy centre. There we see the Grote Markt with the Antwerp City Hall (Stadhuis van Antwerpen) and explore the area around the Cathedral of Our Lady Antwerp (Onze-Lieve-Vrouwekathedraal Antwerpen).
The Hoogstraat we head south. We see the Plantentuin, a small botanical garden and get further south to the Leopoldplaats. There we soon turn around, pass the arts theatre Stadsschouwburg and walk past the Rubens House, which is also a tourist attraction.
The Meir walking street is getting quieter after the shops are closed. We make our way to the Groenplaats, see many streets and areas and end the walk at the Saint Carolus Borromeus Church.

Though I remember almost nothing of the city, this video has reminded me of half-forgotten experiences and I liked doing it, I was there in 1985. 03:50 - 47:35 - 51:10 I remember that beautiful square. A very quiet city? I remembered it more lively, 15:27 is 7:16 pm. in June!!! ... I guess it was Sunday.

Many people don't know that the stock exchange, that we now know world wide, is born in Antwerp. And you missed Napoleon his palace on the Meir.
And i see that you have a lack at traffic rules, with a bad habit to ignore red lights.

No problem. 😎👍 You may also check out the channel's video tab and playlist to discover other places. I often record a couple of videos in larger cities and post them one by one over a longer period. This makes the mix of 2-3 videos per week a bit more interesting

why you didn't make a travel vlogs channel so your and subscribers community see you instead of silent walking tours channel ?? i like your channel and your video
Some editing with additional info of these clips could happen sometime. I enjoy more the walking side with video + photo taking rather than editing on the computer. Talking at the same time + the camera pointed at me would be too much.
There are already tons of vlogs and normal travel / guide videos so the walking video niche is more my thing. People enjoy the original unedited sights and sounds for relaxation like "slow tv".
I see that the all that footage could be reused and enhanced with maps, infos like naming sights for more of a guide. Will see if I do it myself some or I could hire an editor when the channel is big enough. We'll see

Currently the ads provide near $500 per month. It varies a lot - December was good, January not so much. That's the status now with 500k views a month, 155 videos now - 3 new per week. This income is nice as it covers coffees, snacks and the SDcards/harddrives I am spending running around. The travel costs (trains, hostel / hotel etc.) are higher though I'd spend that anyways.
I may open a tip jar for viewers or sell photos and t-shirts this year to make it more sustainable. I'd also like to get some drone (Mavic mini) for additional footage and am saving for that a bit.
I still see the channel as a hobby as it's more fun with the work. One couldn't live from the ad money in Europe alone and that's OK. The channel is still growing so we'll see. I'm happy how it goes 😎
