Kaiju 8 is such hot garbage it is insane to me how it got so popular. The manga is good for the first 50 chapters, then it is like the author got changed mid way, because it turns into Fairy Tail 2.0 very fast.

the santa twist is great, the old man puppet was in like 10 panels before the reveal was shown it really isn't as bad as kol makes it out.

Yeah the story literally played the reader by not showing on panel who Santa is. And then baiting you that Santa is the old dude when both are Santa. He just Skipped the part about perfect dolls and the nuanced paneling showing the emotions that create a Feedback loop.

i am a firm believer that if you liked the farm land arc in vinland saga, there is no way you will dislike chainsaw man part 2. it is basically the same, we got a new main character, we focus on the world and how people view devils, we focus on denji's character and his development based on everything he has gone through in part 1. while i was re-reading chainsaw man with KOL i noticed many thinks like, when the doll devil was saying to denji "what if everyone around you dies. do you really care just about the basic stuff?" and seeing denji's state right now in the manga is really sad, he really changed a lot. i think his char dev is really beautiful and touching.
i liked Kaiju's manga but it is... pretty much the definition of a shounen story
NO. Wash your mouth out with soap, CSM has NOTHING on Farmland Saga, that was beautifully drawn and dealt with some seriously brutally powerful character development.

Csm Part 2 just has an unlikable cast of side characters. I do not give a shit about most characters. Part 1 had way better side characters
@@Fokumemove That's wild. Yoshida, Nayuta, Fami, Fumiko are great. What kind of characters would you care about? One of the good things about chainsaw man is even if you dislike the side characters for some reason, at least you know they won't overstay their welcome because this series spends most of its time building mysteries and exploring its main protagonists (in part 2, denji and asa) rather than focusing on side characters. It doesn't exactly demand you to love the side characters.

KOL, If you see this comment, I think it's worth reading.
The reason many people don't like Part 2 of CSM compared to Part 1 is mainly because the pacing changed and less action-fighting. In Part 1, the pacing is extremely fast. I mean you just got through 2 arcs in 5 hours just as an example. In Part 2, the pacing is slowed down a little bit and the action/fighting scenes aren't as big a focus in Part 2. But I think due to the slower pacing and focusing more on the characters in Part 2, the story is ultimately even better than Part 1. If you prefer slower pacing (though the pacing is still fast anyways), and can handle less action sequences, then I highly recommend you read Part 2 as well. It may surprise you.
But also worth mentioning it's still not finished, I think right now it's at it's half way point I'd say.
Also because vast majority of people binged past 1 in like 2-3 days and are struggling reading a weekly, unfinished manga.
@@FiDjableexactly. CSM works more as a binge manga since it doesn't have too many unnecessary dialogues which makes the story flow better. Sure, the chapters are short but the bigger picture is always at play and Fujimoto is one of the best in bringing everything together, that and a little unpredictability too
@@FiDjable That is delusional. this isn't the first manga people have ever picked up halfway through. Ok maybe not delusional just stupid. The reason they hated it was because Fuji himself was having a hard time writing satisfying chapters on a weekly basis. There were some really short stinkers that are ok overall but fi you waited a week for you would be a bit annoyed. Anyone would. Some were just devoid of any story progress or even meaningful ideas.
I think he should binge it later rather than now. It's better to read Part 2 in its entirety
The biggest thing is the deviation from the main character at the start, we lost most of the beloved part 1 characters at the end of part 1 and part 2 only gave us 2 new characters who had major developments other than our protag, the story and the world don't feel as grand and as mysterious, I was hooked on part 1 of the manga, while I read part 2 on and off.
Kaiju is not any better than chainsawman tho.
KOL actually dumb, he critizes the Santa plot twist while not only missing all the hints in retrospect but not even realizing that Santa is literally evey Doll. And perfect dolle are the main bodies and the old body is not her grandpa, she literally is him theyre not seperate people.

Don't read chainsaw man part 2 a chapter per week, it's not the best experience. The reason part 2 is so polarizing is the pacing is too damn slow for weekly reading. But the problem disappears if you read it by volume. IMO it's better than part 1

The art has only gotten worse in current part 2. Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure fujimoto said he's loosing his passion for drawing. Either way it's definitely worse but definitely not horrible. Part 1 art and earlier part 2 is amazing

Part 2 is great.
Part 2 is really good tho, especially the first 30 chapters when it focuses on Asa's dynamic with Yoru and the last 30-40 chapters where it focuses more on Denji's character development

CSM part 2 is MID. The writing is poor, the drawing is Mid AF, character development is garbage. It had so much promise to begin with, I will admit I really enjoyed part 1 up to where the anime essentially ends and a little bit further. However once certain events take place, the writing just seems lost, I couldn't even tell you if its in an arc atm. Short chapters and chaotic story is not enjoyable to follow. It's almost like he didn't plan it to go beyond part 1. I have tried to keep reading... then I drop it and force myself to pick it up thinking "Maybe it gets better" and I have been disappointed for 40ish chapters and I refuse to pick it back up. It has been officially dropped. You can see the decline in Manga sales steadily going down and I understand that "It takes all sorts" Its okay for people to not like it, but I hate seeing people who are fans be like "Anyone who says that CSM part 2 is trash is illiterate or stupid, uncultured etc etc" can get off their high horse. The fact of the matter is the quality of the Manga is on the decline and only the die hard fans are keeping it alive atm.
TLDR Part 2 = MID, Lost and only Die hard fan's are keeping it alive somewhat.

Like part 1, Part 2 is masterfully structured and nothing about it feels unplanned to me. I don't think it's exaggeration to say that almost EVERY scene and dialogue in it either has thematic significance or foreshadows future events.

"Masterfully" structed is a massive stretch, it has a entire chapter dedicated to someone touching Denji's penis. I also didn't want to bring up too many points/spoilers even about what happens at the end of part 1 because no matter how much I have moved on and dislike this manga now I don't want to be a person who comments spoilers. sure it has some foreshadowing occasionally but the events that change the character dynamic from a generic 3 person troupe to what it is now is what has been lost. How about the decline in art? You should be able to find common ground on the decline of art and cover art? and what I initially said with "Fact of the matter" is a correct statement. I'm not comparing total number of sales, I said DECLINE OF SALES only. Which is a FACT. The anime didn't give a boost in numbers to Manga sales, its failed to convert a large % of Anime watchers to manga readers.
