As funny as the scene was, I honestly prefer the trailer version of the scene, where we don’t hear what he says, but we cut to the punch in the elevator. I think because imagining what he said, makes it all the more funny….
This incident ruined her image of men so badly that she left the building and moved to a small farm town in Kansas where she found a green meteor rock that amplified her pheromones. Then she got a job as a substitute teacher and seduced Lex Luthor into proposing to her. It all fits.
@@davidward9737 It was a good episode too. Clark developed heat vision, and it ended with a good message. That it's okay to feel passion as long as you keep that passion in check.
There's hope, when people can laugh. Many today would consider these kinds of scene offensive, grounds for cancellation. Heck, some producers and actors wouldn't even dare do such scenes, anymore, even though they were outrageously funny in the past.
So, this is one of the reasons why we constantly have to hear the mandated and strongly worded lectures on what constitutes sexual harassment in the workplace. Thanks JIM! Right now, I'm not quite sure if I ought to laugh, or throw something against the wall in annoyance! LOL! An old boss of mine literally spent about three hours lecturing the work crew I was in about the importance of not commiting sexual harassment in the workplace , only to be fired three months later himself, for you guessed it, commiting sexual harassment in the workplace!
It’s not that he wasn’t lying. He could’ve just easily said, “Well, that’s because you look really stunning today.”, a statement that I don’t think any woman would be too offended by. People can still tell the truth without being a creep or a jerk. HOWEVER, I think that's why this film works. Because if Fletcher was written to be to modest or passive, maybe even really bad at saying "yes or no" to people, then I think the film's concept wouldn't really work. Therefore, the decision to write him be such an unsympathetic, selfish, self-righteous jerk kind of works. Since we probably have come around people like this more in our lives and wish their was a way for them to get what's coming to them maybe even confess to why they keep screwing with others. So to make a guy like that be force to tell the truth, but in a way that fits with how they behave, it kind of works.
This is my absolute favorite Jim Carrey movie followed closely by Truman then Grinch. My least favorite is Dumb and Dumber. It took me a few years to forgive Jeff Daniels for that. And then they went and did it again in 2014😡
Chica at 3:50, why should he be subtle? She sure as hell wasn't. She was blatantly putting her goods on display for that exact reason. Let's be honest grownups here. You seem way too uptight and very much part of the millennial crowd that acts like 80 yr. old church ladies. It's a friggin' Jim Carrey comedy! Are you not familiar?
I love how the young generation gets offended by some of the humour, but the older generation is fine and just laughs. This is why good comedy is gone .
Really?😂 That's why it's a fictional comedic moment. The film isn't telling you to go do it. In fact Jim gets punched for it, showing that it's not something you should do. The film is telling you he's a creep.
They hate that as much as you do. George used to be a cameraman in the adult industry and they had Cherie DeVille as a guest in the Boogie Nights reaction.
Funny as hell, but if she didn't want remarks like that then she wouldn't wear tops like that. Everything has rewards and consequences. You would think she would know that by now.
I agree. And that pisses me off. Women want remarks from men they approve of but not from all men. That is what is wrong. Women want CONTROL. Hence me saying, Rewards and Consequences.
