    I've always argued that Project management is a life skill. You've just proved it nicely.

      Thanks Mike. I totally agree about it being a life skill. It should be taught at school.

    This is uncanny! Having dabbled along with major changes, 'what will you tell your Future Self why your project failed' is a definite wake-up call🙂 - Love the 'de-risking' segment...wonderful analogies from start to finish, thank you Stuart to keep us on our toes, not just 5-9, but 24/7!

    Nice one Stuart. I would add that while this advice is useful, one of the main reasons why outside of work issues don’t get resolved is down to the fact that many personal issues are consumed by emotion, and therefore the rational resolution or response isn’t always as simple to implement as it would be in a corporate environment. Good video as always mate.

      Thank you! And yes, you’re right that the human behaviours and drivers are impactful. They can disrupt even the most well planned corporate projects 😩

    So sad that you have only 2k, this video provides real value and a good guide line and point!
    Why do people think they can successfully achieve at their projects without methods and plans?

    Another great video Stuart. My moto in life and trying to educate the next generation is that if you master only 3 skillsets in life, nothing will stop you
    -Problem Solving
    -Risk management
    -Change Management
    Anything one does in life can be presented as a Problem Statement, therefore you will want to solve it
    Solving problem will bring risk and consequently, knowing how to mitigate and management the risks (from assumption to risk realisation, when it is an issue you have a problem to solve, back to sill 1)
    Once you have resolve your problem and implemented the solution, you need to accept/adopt the change.
    What do you all think?

    • @InfluentialPMO
      @InfluentialPMO  ปีที่แล้ว

      I think mastery of those skillsets will take you far. The only addition I'd recommend is something around communication skills, which are partially covered in change management, but it's often overlooked which contributes to good ideas and solutions being ignored.

      @@InfluentialPMO ahah, that's your new problem to solve :) How to become good in communication what's the risk associated in becoming good at it and how will I adapt/adopt to the chamge. So, I would say it is still not a foundational skill ;) but I agree one to learn definitely :) in my humble opinion though.
