      Nah he actually went about it the wrong way. You can see in the slow-mo he didn't actually grab the wall. He was trying to get his arms over the edge but he didn't go high/far enough.

      Uh no that thing he does where he turns around while climbing sideways (3:05) isn't more efficient, he does this often for fun and calls it "showing off" humoristically himself. It tires out your hands more but since he has incredibly strong hands it's ok and just makes for a cooler & slightly faster movement.

    I don't think I've ever seen this man's grip give out, excluding the times he's tested his grip strength specifically. The ease with which he got through the grip sections with really no experience on the obstacles really puts into perspective how good he is

      yeah he’s insane, i mean he can hold his whole bodyweight on just one finger so i wouldn‘t expect a top tier climber like him to fail on grip strength, just the big dynamic moves like the one he fell on are the big challenge for him

      That's what makes me actually think that very last obstacle like moving wall got him by surprise so eventually he did not catch a solid grip. Had he known this was going to move towards him, I bet he would have caught it easily despite his tiredness.

    I have never seen anyone else stopping to shake out on the cliffhanger. Sadly does not have much experience in gimnastic style obsticles. He didn't even train for this much. Magnus is the best.

And by the way to shake out the pump most need a reasonably good hold. But Magnus does it here on a 2 inch ledge without feet. That is a seriously impressive endurance skill.

      @@gergelymartonffyclimbing Good on you George. Just saying it's probably not 'because of tendonitis. He is just super pumped from extended crimp. A one armed dead hang off a 2 inch crimp is pretty easy for anyone that climbs on the regs, especially an athlete like MM. He is just getting ready for next big move and taking his time on an easy hold before the dynos. The crimps on my Beastmaker 2000 training hang board (which MM also uses) are smaller than this.

      Yeah people like Drew Drechsel are just way more experienced in the Ninja Warrior obstacles. Magnus probably has way better strength and body control... With some practice he would probably destroy everybody.

      @@Ex0rz Magus is a junior world champion climber, ofc he will completely smash all the courses except for the obstacles he's never seen before & doesn't know the little tricks on how to overcome them easily.
      Some of the stuff he does is something a ninja warrior can literally never reach, not without 15 years of training. Those climbing challenge was a walk in the park for him
      If Magnus spends a week learning the obstacles he will win it easily. Give more respect to professional athletes, people like Drew Drechsel are pretty fit but no world class climbers.

    Hearing the comentators say "ONLY 2 inches wide" is pretty funny. As someone who's climbed alot, 2 inches is pretty relaxed. It's the jumping around that makes it hard.

      EU flag stands for EUROPE, has nothing to do with "being in the EU" lmfao.. Sweden is 100% in EUROPE, Russia is generally considered eastern EUROPE also for sports like this. Usually I've seen regions separated into western EU, Eastern EU (scandi countries, ukraine, russia etc), NA, SA, SEA, Asia, Oceania. Clearly in this comp they've combined all of Europe because theres more American competitors. But go off I guess?
