Love hearing you talk about walkable cities! I've lived the last 11 years without a driver's license and I'll never look back.
As someone who also hated hated hated summer, it is so worth it to do some real, intensive summer focused shopping. Colorful basics, natural (and semi-synthetic) materials, breezy cuts, all that jazz. I made myself do that the year I overhauled my closet and I legit had the most pleasant summer just because I wasn't suffering. I still prefer every other season but at least summer ain't a nightmare anymore.

Subscriber from Lisbon here. When you will be in Lisbon, i recommend to visit Humana. It is a net of second hand shops. They have a lot of good stuff, and do 2-3 euro sales every 2 weeks. Also it can be quite chill and windy at night. Enjoy your trip

OK, I came back to save you from over packing! Use packing cubes, esp. for shoes too! They will save you so much packing space you can actually buy more stuff! 😜 Also scarf as bathing suit cover-up not over the head Grey Gardens style haha
Quick Lisbon recommendation (from a local) - we have a chain of charity shops called Humana (4 of which sell only vintage) that I think you would really enjoy. They run huge sales every two months or so, bringing prices progressively down to just 1 euro. My favourite is the Humana vintage shop in Graça (near the viewing points with the best views in LX). Enjoy your holiday!
Notjustbikes is the absolute GOAT in urban planning videos. I loooove their stuff. Life Where I’m from also has some great videos, they’re not urban planning and cater towards Japan but the content design, editing and photography is impeccable. He recently released a video on how Okinawa is car dependent. Both his and Nitjustbikes videos really showcase how Metropolitan Japan is very different (and a lot of East Asia tbh) from Western societies and what we can learn from them in creating more connected communities.
I would recommend only bringing two pairs of cute sandals, 1 pair of cheap flip flops you can use for showers and beaches and wearing your heaviest shoes on the plane. Either boots or your trainers. Even though Europe is going through a heatwave I’d recommend bringing 1 light weight jacket cause Europe is just so unpredictable. You could also use a button down shirt as a jacket and if it’s too hot, you can use the shirt was an actual top by tying into into different styles.

giiiirl those low nude mules, even if you can walk a lot in them, the streets of Seoul and let's say, Lisbon and Rome are not the same 😂 The cobble of those cities can and WILL destroy your feet lol

I'm with you on the shoe struggle. It's so hard to choose but I have to give myself a hard limit of 3 when traveling. Shoes take up so much space in luggage, and I gotta have lots of space for souvenirs, presents and other goodies.

I’m feeling the nude leather cross sandals and green chanclas. Both work for all colours, look comfy and work casually and little more formally. I’d leave the other sandals cause shoes add up in weight. Edit: oh you’re already there! Hahaha! Enjoy!

I haven’t been able to find one that I like, I realized that the knit berets don’t work with me bc i like my beret to have some structure! So it depends on how structured the straw one would be!

I love walkable cities they are the best. Also have fun in Lisbon. If you want to pamper yourself in Lisbon try to see if you can watch a Fado performance, they are so beautiful.
Try the ravioli ai funghi and al funghi trufato at valdo gatti in lisboa, have a drink at musa da bica, croissant from marquise and pasteis de nata from manteigaria 😋
I found two really nice bulky silk blouses in a thrift shop in Bologna. Light to carry around, beach cover up and helpful if you want to enter the churches :)

Love this video! This is up my alley, I'm more neutral but I'm a neutral maximalist lol so I NEED these tips. I'm doing a 3-week in SEA with only carry on. Also, there's a reason why in Europe we can easily spot Americans. They'll be walking through the city looking like they're hiking the mountains or some shit, its hilarious. As if Europeans don't wear heels on those cobbled stones lol. We will walk 20k steps on cobbled stones with the CUTEST shoes and outfit. Tell those TikTok advisers to grow some ankle strength. I walked 4 hours of a mountanous desert in Jordan in a maxi red halter neck dress + Veja trainers lol.

@@YOHOMEGIRL I definitely recommend the beaches of Costa da Caparica, you can go by bus, those beaches are bigger and less crowded than the ones on the train line (You can catch the bus in Areeiro, close to the metro), for night life of course Santos, but if you want to sit down and enjoy some drinks and music there is a rooftop bar called "Ferroviario" in Santa Apolonia that is super fun!
