Josh is like the Gate Keeper between Death/thrash Metal old style that we love to newer Metalcore with melody. So many styles. And he writes music for Architects now. What a beast.
I just read your comment after posting my own comment about Chuck and how he’d be a fan of Sylosis. Josh writes some insanely brutal riffs layered with awesome melodies just like Chuck did with Death!

Sylosis has to be one of the most underrated modern metal bands. Definitely in my top 10 favorites. I really hope to see this amazing band live. I was supposed to see them a couple years back but their bus got in an accident and After the Burial ended up playing an extended set in their absence. Glad to see they're still making music.
J Just saw Sylosis share the poster for some festival and I’m pissed to see how far down the list and how small of a font they’re in. My favourite band and I don’t understand how they’re not much bigger.

look im not gonna lie.....I started learning this riff last year, and when you hit the 37 second mark that shit is not easy lol, im not a great player by any means but yeah I struggle to play that part with out messing up.

Architects style guitar is more the low, bassy (use a subwoofer) type while Sylosis is like "circle pit" and lets break shit lol love both so much
I really like the new album but I must say there are emements of particular songs that sound as if Architects kinda rubbed off on him a bit. Not that its a bad thing, but couldnt help but notice. Great stuff non the less
And he started playing breakdowns in Sylosis :D
I'm mean, don't get me wrong, this is on my list of favorite 2020 album but dude, it's riddled with breakdowns. Good 70% of it is literally breakdowns.

Sylosis для меня это не только мощный звук, сильнейшие рифы, мастерство владения иструментом... Это ещё и сама музыка - какой-то настоящий метальный трагизм в ней есть. Джош играет ещё и в Архитекторах, но вот их метал уже совсем не то. Не могу его слушать, почему-то не моё.
