I can relate 100% on your Duramax maintenance costs. I bought a 2003 F-250 with the infamous 6.blow when I was 18. I didn't do any research at all. After two $120 oil changes, I finally learned how to do it myself. That didn't stop it from blowing the fuel pressure sensor and pump... then the HPOP a month later. $10,000 later it was running like a top. Then, being a dumbass kid, I got it caught up in the Standard Pre-Owned dealership scam. It was way too much truck for that point in my life. Although now I wish I kept it.
Definitely hit us with the jetta content. I personally love that generation of jetta, something about the boxyness of it and the vr6 sound cannot be beat

I've owned 4 of the 1st gen focus, all the different body styles started with a sedan had allot of miles drove it like i stole it, then the four door hatch it was an svt and spent more time in the shop than the road, the two door hatch which slammed into a jeep, and then my current baby my wagon which I love other than the fact they don't make coilovers for the wagon. I love the look of the focus it's been one of my favorite cars I've ever owned, unfortunately I don't have 3rd gen money. Great content you are an awesome personality for this, looking forward to future content.
Bike guy here. That generation CBR1000RR was so nice. Always wanted one, but the peg location was too tight for my long legs. Once you experience 1000cc+ power, cars just hit different. But that Supra is just filthy too.

The Evo has a special place with me for the car show we were in together but I've loved them all. Every time I thought it was as good as it could get you would go even bigger and better! Finally some TDI love!!! I’ve been telling people how great they are especially on stage 3 with a bigger turbo still making 40+ mpg paired with 360ftlbs. coal every now and then and turbo noises that scare everyone at the track that doesn’t know about them.
Gotta love the Ricer phase. During mine, I threw in a radio, 12” subwoofer, led floor lights, Eagle Alloy black 10 spoke 17” wheels, and I removed the intake box so it would sound powerful…. on my 2001 Plymouth Neon. From having maybe 130hp FWD back then to having around 800awhp now. It’s been a journey. That was 6 or 7 cars ago at this point.
Focus ST guy here 👌🏻 best car I’ve ever owned! Gonna buy a bnr 3071 big turbo after Christmas I’m ready for more fun! Currently Fbo and tuned it’s fun but neeed more😂
I had the same year Jetta gli with the vr6 and 6 speed when I was 21. It’s a really great car and one of the greatest sounding 6 cylinders I’ve ever heard especially when straight piped 😂. Will be following along to see what you do with it, thanks for an excellent video!
Those cobalt SS’s are awesome. BTW, the best way to get cheap wheels for those is to look for Saab 9-3 wheels. They had the same bolt pattern and would fit exactly. Saabs also had the same transmission and 2.0 turbo. Awesome cheap cars
had a cobalt ss when i was 17 and it was one of the most fun cars I've ever driven. I really wanted that trailblazer ss back then but it was way too expensive haha
loved this. i had 2 mk4s. first one was an automatic jetta. lost that car and went to the manual golf next and have owned manual cars ever since. the first month was to throw it in my dad's face because he thought i wouldn't keep on it and give up and want an automatic again. looking back now I'm extremely sad that less cars are manual. i'm in a 2018 elantra sport now and even that was hard to find a manual one.
I had a Colbalt SS in NFSMW. Great car. I'd for sure get one if they were sold here. When you said you sold the EVO X, I cried. Like actual man tears. I've driven a few EVO IXs and one X while the IX is lighter and more nimble, I'd still buy an X in a heartbeat.

Hey there Dakota, over here in Europe VW‘s are all over the place, but they are really functional cars as you said. Your cars list is definitely unconventional for a petrol head. I wasn’t expecting the cars you mentioned at all but that goes to show that a car needs to fit one’s personality. I have also owned around 20 cars but only 3-4 are the most close to my heart and really regret selling them. Of all the cars you mentioned I think the Supra is a keeper.
Dakota I know there are a lot of comments and hopefully you see this, but please build the MK4 GLI. The VR6 is such a sick motor. I’d love to watch a little build series on that car!
Last year I got my first car. It's a 2008 honda Civic 2.2 diesel. It has alot of torque but will be tuned for more horse power, ( has 138hp right now) I'll probably stop at 200 hp with a new turbo and cluch in the future as well as an egr delete and stuff that will make it look like a type r.
I like the ST. I also like the Cobalt SS, MK4 VR6 GTI, Evo 6, I like the Supra more now that a manual is available. Pretty much love the hot hatch style car. Have a soft spot for Mustangs (03/04 Cobra and the current GT350/500 are the tops) and Corvettes too. Currently have a 2017 Focus ST with a Thermal R&D exhaust and some bolt ons/intercooler and a non-cobb, non-pop and crackle tune (that shit is annoying) my other vehicle is a 2014 Nissan Frontier with a 6 speed manual
For a kids first car that camaro is amazeballs bro. When I grew up, most people started off with a ford tempo or their parents clapped out farm truck. My first car was a 90 toyota corolla 4 door auto. I would have killed for anything manual as a first car. Love my 6 speed audi

Imola yellow Is the best factory yellow ever, I might be a bit biased (I had a b6 s4 in imola yellow) It is actually fairly easy to clean, but the yellow shows a lot of dirt you wouldn't see on like a white car. And hell yes I would love a jetta series

Diesels are fun until they aren’t and you learn that real quick. Great trucks but only if you need them

My most favorite are the Ford Focus ST because I love hatchbacks and the MK 5 Supra because it's got unique style.

My favorite is the ST not because I own one but because I can relate to how a turbo 4 cyl makes some people really like it.
