    I grew up using a Norelco 400 series. I switched to this Series 3 and I was very disappointed. It irritated my skin during shaves, so I went back to the rotary. I decided to try a Braun Series 5, and I was blown away by the better shave and less irritation.

      I might try a series 5, this is as I said a bit unrefined, though better than Braun shavers I have had in the past. I find the Philips to be better overall in this price range.

    As you say, when used purely as an electric/dry shave, the comfort level is ok but nothing special; I've yet to use it as a wet shaver, but, when I do, expect it to be more comfortable than the dry shave. Thanks for the review.

    • @MrBazReviews

      I think it's partly the motor speed, quite aggressive and loud - it's not bad dry but not great. I think the Philips is more comfortable. Both are decent for a wet shave though, I find myself using the Philips perhaps a bit more. Maybe higher priced Braun shaver are more "refined".

I see Amazon are now doing razors too (but considerably cheaper), not tried that one.

    By making the blades part of the foil assembly it's an absolute nightmare to clean since you can't reach a brush between the blades. If your water is not high pressure you are screwed. That is terrible design. Making it all one assembly also doubles the replacement costs to almost as much as the entire shaver. They did this out of pure greed making you buy both the blade and the foil as a unit even if only one is worn out. Braun also don't give a damn about difficulties cleaning it. Electric shavers are a scam akin to ink jet printers. Effectively the shaver is disposable after about a year. At least it's better than Remmington who's foils wear out after only 3 or 4 months.

    • @MrBazReviews
      @MrBazReviews  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don't disagree it would make more sense to have a foil replacement part only, other ones I used in the past had this. No doubt there are some marketing/financial reasons to this which I can't say I like much. I was thinking of trying a Remington, the Philips one is also working quite well. I prefer that overall
