    Good video. That’s my blue Tenere parked behind you at check in. Been doing the Dragon since 1991 and I disagree with your advice on “bring the kitchen sink” - my advice: bring as little as you possibly can, and confine it to tent, mat, sleeping bag, torch, toothbrush and warm, dry clothes. All that cooking gear etc is an utter ballache to pack at the best of times. Now try doing it all on a Sunday morning in a 70mph wind, on your knees in mud and throwing it down. As little as possible and buy your food and drink on site. 2023 and 2024 have been well easy - you might get a bad one next time. After 30 years of doing this I still bring too much though.

    • @Topboy_Jonny
      @Topboy_Jonny  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It was an awesome weekend! I’d probably still always over pack. The cooking gear wasn’t too bad as it’s basically a gas bottle and small foldable burner that takes 30 seconds to assemble. The pan stack down nice and small, cooking is part of the vibe for me. Totally understand your sentiments though, you’re just more hardcore and experienced haha

      It’s the ‘Just eat’ 2 in 1 storm proof jacket. I got it brand new on eBay for £20. It’s got a hydrostatic head of 15,000mm which is insane and is completely windproof. Name brand jackets with these specs cost well over £300

    I can tell this is going to be a great adventure video, unfortunately though it is ruined by an obnoxiously loud exhaust. You have probably tampered with the OEM exhaust specifically to make it louder, and thus an annoyance to your viewers, neighbours, and every neighbourhood and locale you pass through etc. Silly.

    • @Topboy_Jonny
      @Topboy_Jonny  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Morning, it’s the ‘zoom loop’ exhaust and it’s still got its baffle in. It’s a bit quieter than the Yoshimura exhaust. I’m new to vlogging and this was really the first test with an in helmet mic, I did drop it down to -6db for recording but will drop it down to -12db which should eliminate the exhaust noise. Just skip ahead from the riding as it’s only a small amount, the rally was really good though and hope to see you there in the future 🙏🏼

    • @onanysundrymule3144
      @onanysundrymule3144 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Topboy_Jonny OK, but don't drop the audio gain, just change the exhaust back to OEM. I did watch the later bits, the rally itself etc, good stuff, but loud exhausts are just a pest and what 16 year olds used to do on their FS1Es and AP50s. I bet you got fed up listening to it for 4 hours on the journey.
      Anyways, how many miles was it to the conway, and how many hours for the journey out there? Kind regards.

    • @Topboy_Jonny
      @Topboy_Jonny  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@onanysundrymule3144 I’m gonna keep the exhaust for now, but do plan to swap it eventually. Won’t lie I also wear ear plugs but it’s also saved my life on a couple of occasions when cars and trucks can’t see you they can defo hear you haha.
      It was 119 miles on the sat nav and took me about 4 hours going over the tops… I had to stop to refuel too and warm up haha.

      @@onanysundrymule3144I really didn’t notice the exhaust noise. It all sounded fine to me. Both my current newish bikes (2 years and 3 months) have standard exhausts and they both make delightful pops and bangs on the overrun. You would hate them but you couldn’t blame it on aftermarket products.
