    Whooah, I felt stressed too when you redid it all over again.
    You however covered all the tulle ruching overlay detail with lace entirely

    I can relate to wedding dress stress, I designed my own wedding dress from the ground up as it was my 2nd wedding I was NOT going to wear white or yellow as is the case for a 2nd wedding 😹😹 I made it out of a lovely gold satin fabric Mom and I hunted for weeks in all the major fabric stores for what I wanted finally found it at $500 a meter nearly died on the spot so after that we went to China town and looked through all of their fabrics as I knew I would find silk there at a reasonable price in the 3rd fabric shop we went into I found the exact gold satin at only $50 dollars a meter I was over the moon I was stunned at the huge difference in price from the wedding shop in the city to the shop in China town. I was able to get all of the fabric for the overlay skirt and vail from the same shop and what it cost for that one meter of fabric I bought everything including the pearls, lace threads and zipper Mom and I then spent the next 6 months designing and making the wedding dress which at the end looked medieval in style 😹😹 I spent 4 months sewing pearls to lace flowers while working at the call centre taking calls from clients. My boss would giggle every time she walked past me at work. The dress fitted perfectly when finished but on the day Mom had to stitch me into the dress because I had lost 2 dress sizes when I had gotten sick with the flu 😳😳 but happily it never showed in the photos the photograph was fantastic at taking the right angles to hide the fact the dress was too big on the day😹😹😹 and I was so worried about gaining weight before the big day…
    Your dress look very pretty and as you said not to fluffy it was perfect in every way. There is that moment when you add the last stitch on the day that you know it’s perfect.

    The dress was so beautiful. Simple and elegant. You look so lovely in it. I made my dress with the help of my mother 25 years ago. I remember I kept losing weight and having to take in. I also have lovely memories of nights making covered buttons with mum. Means so much more if its hand made.

    Very beautiful. Trick for the tulle is baste the two layers together and treat as one. It eliminates a little bit of the poufiness.

    thanks so much for posting this video. It’s fascinating to watch - I really want to work with tulle and silk and haven’t yet. The dress is spectacular and I think the end result was worth all the changes you made. The skirt is stunning and you looked beautiful.

    I would love to know some details on the second version of the skirt. It's so lovely! Just what I imagine for mine... How many layers did you use, which fabrics? Is it still A-line for the lining and circle-skirt (with train) on top?

    Thank you for both of these videos! I’m currently making my wedding dress and this has been helpful. Referencing Part 1, you cut on the fold to create one piece for the back skirt. How does that one piece translate to adding a zipper in this video? How do you add a zipper without a seam? Do you just cut a seam for your zipper? Also, how do you attach the tulle overlay at the bodice side seams?

    it turned out absolutely beautifully!!!!! I really appreciate you sharing, as well as all of the things that arenn' in the video, sincce it really highlights just how much work there is in a project like this---- i'm considering making mine, but wondering just how long i'll need tomake it

      You should go for it if you have the time! I can't tell for sure how long this dress took me because I had to take it apart. However, if I didn't have to take it apart, it would've been 2 weeks (4-6 hour days)

    Great video, thanks, why did you have to stitch the button loopholes before adding the zip? Would be great if you could film a tutorial about that! Thanks!

    • @thetailorette
      @thetailorette  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question! I will remember that for my future videos. The buttonhole loops are typically sandwiched between the zipper and the dress. Kind of like adding ingredients to your sandwich. :)
