I watched quite a few videos and was about to buy these until I watched your review! Really happy i did and equally dissappinted in all the other allegedly honest reviews...You just save me $150+ and a lot of frustration! Thank you!!! Subscribed.
I wonder if you just got unlucky back to back. I borrowed my brothers pair (different model) last year when i hiked Mt Fuji. My brother has had no leak whatsoever, and i used his vessi to hike, and had no issues. On top of that, i did not even get sand in my feet at all when the floor was dry and sandy. But i do appreciate your honest review.
Well I’m glad to hear you at least have had a much better experience It makes me think about revisiting them again one day. Try a third style perhaps 🤔 Just not in the immediate future
That's weird, I got the Chelsea version of these boots and was walking along the beach the whole evening with the water to about ankle height. The insides of the boots did not get wet at all (and no sand either) and I was pretty much soaking them in the water for a couple of hours. The Chelsea boots for me I can say is 100% waterproof, I was looking to purchase these ones too but it's apparently not waterproof? I wonder if the many stitching and multi-layer panels that they attached on the stormburst may have compromised the waterproof-ness since the Chelsea has a more solid simple one-piece design.
Oh wow that’s really interesting to hear! What I can say about the Stormburst is that the inside layer has a seam right down the middle. When the leaking started it essentially matched that seam line, and then ultimately just got super wet from there. Might be the problem spot for leaking 🤔
Thanks for the review. I was looking into these particular ones in the low cut design. I own a couple of pair of Vessi's already and was hoping these were a bit more comfortable, grippy and durable. I will be keeping my options open.
It's too late now but I would have submitted a warranty claim since it was within the 1 year for the water proofing not being effective anymore. I would want to see how that would have went. Nice review.
Yeah I probably should have. I figured they would have been really good about it and sent another pair probably. As I didn’t really enjoy the overall shoe I didn’t wanna waste their time and get more free shoes I wouldn’t use. I may revisit and buy another model, one day in the future, to see if there’s any better water proofing. If I actually do that then I’ll probably submit a claim if they go 0/3 on waterproofing
Thanks for the honest review. Like everyone else, you also saved me some money. I am from Vancouver, and I was hoping to get a pair not only to be waterproof while hiking but to support local. I am disappointed as well
Thats strange I’ve used a few Vessi and even when the knitted material allow water through it has never sipped through the rubber layer below. Was it something you managed to talk to their customer service about?
Honestly they’d been kind regarding the possible defect (mentioned in the vid) and given the full value gift card already. The other pair I got also leaked so I didn’t bother following up further. Just haven’t been a fan of them as shoes overall, for a few reasons. I’m sure the customer support would have helped, but I didn’t wanna get another free pair or waste their time
Wow that’s weird! Or extremely unlucky with the two shoes. I’ve had two pairs of the Weekend. I have walked for hours in downpours, stood in puddles, soaking wet grass and have never had any moisture inside. Have even taken a pressure hose to them to clean them while wearing them and bone dry inside.
A few people have mentioned having better experiences with them 🤔 could just be mine were both defective. Part of me would like to sample another pair, but as I wasn’t a huge fan of the overall feel I’m not sure if/when that would be. Nice to at least hear it’s not a universal issue. I still get sad when I see vessi ads tho haha

Try the weekend shoes you will love them! 😊
Good luck!
Why is the toe-box pointy? Feet aren't shaped like that.
