Good day sir. I am just curious, how do piping engineers decide on the pipe spec to use? Also, in terms of thickness of pipe to withstand internal pressure, how do you calculate this?
    Thank you.

Initially, Matreal Spec which contains the pipe Class and thickness after taking into account the design pressure & temperature, andis selected by process engineer, and after the material engineer confirms the choice.

And piping design engineer can find the information in the line list and the p&id , but of course he can do comments and ask for clarifications from process engineer if he found something wrong in this documents ,
