I think there is another mistake: at 9:47 you can see the alien cards face down, even if soldiers are already assigned. That doesn't make sense, because right before you place the soldiers for the mission, you have to know what are you going to fight, there is no a random-factor :). So, you should turn the alien cards face up, right before placing the soldiers.
One thing I learned from Games Night channel is no commenter has played a board game before and expects them to remember the whole rulebook before they even play the game for the first time!! If you people had actually played a board game with a real person before in your lives you would know that is takes at least 5 games before you are even close the fully understanding the game rules and that is only for the medium complex games, it can take up to a dozen games to even understand the basics for a very complicated board game.

Haven't played this game, so it's tough to speak to whether they are just idiots or the game is really hard, but I actually like their unintentional house rule of resetting the threat counter for each objective on the missions/base defense seems to make this game quite well balanced imo. I don't think I'd like your idea. I personally enjoy the game difficulty being so hard that you can just barely skim by if played well.

It is available digitally, it's galled XCom, it has much better graphics and the mechanics are more smoothly integrated and you have a much more control over every aspect of the game.

To be fair this is Lewis' second game and he had two roles and Sips' first game. You can clearly see that Lewis is not keeping up with having two roles. They never went for the easy or tutorial difficulty either so I would cut them some slack - it is a game after all.

There seems to be special rules for each final mission. The one they got didn't require you to have all elites, instead your troops get locked at certain parts and you are unable to use them on the later parts of the mission..
Even if Ben had just made up that the final mission was available, he imputed that they had completed the final mission, and the app said "Victory". Have not played this game, but I can't imagine the app would allow you to say you did the final mission without giving it out lol.
you don't seem to understand what I meant.... in the previous series on this game, they NEEDED Elite Soldiers to participate in the actual mission, they even MENTIONED needing Elite Soldiers back in episode 1 to participate in the final mission this "season". So unless, the "only Elites can participate in this final mission" rule is on a per-mission basis, they should have been unable to participate in the mission as they had no Elites left (or only 1).
Of course no one understood that. And while they did mention that, only some missions require elite soldiers, so they actually did semi-legitly complete the game.
