Anyone else disappointed about Black Friday not being Workin' Boys? Allow me to pitch my plan: Because the main character is clearly a self-insert, it could be the show and Hidgen's backstory. Every song would relate to the events that happened in both.
I'm not. I think it's better that Workin' Boys stays a mystery. What makes the joke so funny is that it comes out of nowhere and that it would most likely not be a very great musical. A two hours long actual musical about it would milk the joke for all it's worth and it would probably end up ruining it or be boring after a while. I mean there's no winning with that because if they make the musical actually good that would make the original joke worthless but if they make it bad and ridiculous that would just make it hard to watch. Maybe they could make a scene about it but a full on musical wouldn't be the best idea.
I’ve always liked the idea that after the world became a musical Hidgens really did make working boys and Ted got to co star in it as Steve seeing as we only met Greg and Stu.
