I like her just about as much as, if not a little more than, I like the Pony she was based off of. She's a Twilight-type, but more rebellious, which I like.

A Pact may also be entered between close friends, or countries on a political level.

Oh my gosh am I looking forward to this game! I've only ever played like three fighting games in my life(Two of which were Smash Bros. games.) but this is just too cool to not look forward to. I liked both of the two previous characters, and felt a kinship with Arizona as a country girl myself, but this one is my favorite so far! I like Fred.
Oleander reminds me of Kindred from League of Legends because of we'll Fred is based off Wolf, both animal beings made out of smoke and objects covering their face. Oleander is lamb without a wolf mask and is a hooved animal, and instead of a bow she uses a book. There's even a color palette based on Kindred, Pom has the same color palette as well.
So... She's basically best friends with the evil book spirit from the carebear movie? I can't decide if that's really clever of her or really stupid. Or possible both. Either way Fred sounds like fun, and Oli could also be fun if she manages to grow a brain cell or two to counter her own ego and Fred's manipulation. Though the whole 'beasts that used to eat everyone' is looking sillier and sillier all the time. Of all the things a predator could hunt and kill what could possibly persuade it to go after something as dangerous as a unicorn?

Unless they're closer to movie *Predators* than the traditional definition... Hmm. Or they need to eat magic critters or something? Either way, this aspect of canon needs expanding upon. I'd also bet good bet when this comes out it's going to get a lot of fan art and fan fiction - and that a lot of it is going to be along the lines of the predators having been slandered! Villian PoV is popular to the point of inevitability, and the predators not wanting to hunt the most dangerous critters on the planet is a good a jumping off point as any.
Unicorns are not the hardest prey they can find, they are just another prey for even stronger predators. They are prey for a reason, there are predators that are even stronger than unicorns

Because what they want is meat and to avoid the risk of injury getting that meat, because if they get injured they die. On the other hand, if they are sapient, then why don't at least some of them farm their food? Rabbits would do the trick. So would fish. (Hmm. Are sharks and dolphins lumped in with predators? I can't imagine they'd bother ungulates much.) Heck, dogs are eaten as meat in some parts of the world.
