As a very young 64 yr old Newbe to RC, I am going to enjoy this series. So far I have found ALL of your videos extremely useful and interesting. You're doing a great job sir, many thanks.
Hi Lee I have already done this frame build with the SB F 7 V3 Fc which is virtually solder free for GPS/receiver/camera vax and the included frame lighting. I have also done the recommended Fc/Esc 180 reversal via Inav orientation tab . This is the best frame I have ever had and you are tempting me to have a try with it using Betaflight for smoothness. Thanks again for all the tuition over the past few years.
Great video, Lee! Great content for beginners! Btw: my most favorite, 5 inch frame is the AOS 5. I got also the first version of this Speedy Bee frame and had to print new camera mounting parts as the 03 developed stabilization problems.
So, I have started my project following this series, I have ordered some parts, and I'm hoping to reuse the motors I have from an off-the-shelf drone. I have 3D printed a frame in PETG carbon. The frame came in at 130g. It's the JeNo 7" Drone Frame. I ordered the stack and receiver, and screws/nuts. I'm going to print the protectors and bumpers in TPU. I'm also hoping to reuse the controller from the old drone. Trying to keep costs down as this is really a learning for a follow on project. I'm hoping to reuse as much as I can on the follow-up project! The long wait for parts now :)
Great Video Lee. With drones in this style can you add a gps and using inav can it fly like a dji cinematic drone? Oh, I suppose it would need a gimbal. But a RTH or "save me" switch would be useful for a new pilot. Will you be covering a drone flight simulator so new pilots can practise before flying the real thing?
I'm thinking of adding a supplimental video adding a GPS. Bottom line, if you want a DJI flying camera, buy a DJI flying camera. Quads like this are more versatile but need a action camera and a lot of skill to fly/film well. You don't need INAV for a GPS RTH mode. Betaflight 'Rescue mode' works a lot better now... Happy flying
@@Painless360 thanks, currently Drone policies are to blame. The understanding of nano drone and industrial drone aren't clear at all levels of custom administration.
hi lee, as a patreon i built the holybro x500 with pixhawk 6c & mission planner. down sizing now i have the speedybee master 5 frame but i also have a matek f405 stack & a mamba f405 stack, if i use one of these which one would be your preference or go for speedybee stack. also don't know betaflight only used to Mp. regards steve reed.
Goggles depends on the FPV system you add. I',m using Walksnail in my build. One of the advantages of the SpeedyBee stack is that you can access and change settings using a phone/tablet using a wireless connection.
big jump getting into FPV right off the bat...deep pockets I suppose by the time the goggles are purchased 'for a first build?" I guess LOS means 'list of sophisticated' devices!! critiquing device application for a 'quadcopter build for beginners' surely we will learn something; finding this vid interesting along with Speedybee components!!

Hi Lee, Great video and information about building your first quad. To the new people, Welcome to the Hobby.
Equally Young Newbie to FPV and thank you for the information and I look forward to my First Build
Awesome, Lee! Looking forward to the videos! 😃
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
And happy holidays!

Excellent introduction thanks
Saving this for later. Thanks Lee
I shall start here as you suggested ,thank you 👍
that speedybee frame looking kind of sharp!!

Best of luck, in the hobby cutting corners can cost more in the long run... Happy flying
@@Painless360 videos are very helpful
What useful mass can it lift?😊
No more than half the total thrust from the motors, minus the weight of the quad and battery... Happy flying

I use FrSky Tandem X20 radio. Which receiver should I use with this quadcopter that you are building in this vid?
Any small reciever that outputs SBUS will work... Best of luck
Awesome, does they ship worldwide too?
Keep an eye on their website as they are exploring shipping options..

That, and battery shipping too...

I'd recommend you follow the entire series and use the same kit. Message me on Patreon if you need in depth help... Best of luck!
ok thanks i will get what is needed, as i said only used to Mp, will have to do some pausing, at least you are slower than americans.@@Painless360
For this build, what is the preferred goggles to use? Does this controller and ESC have capability to connect via Bluetooth, WiFi or usb? Thanks

Everything stock, still the throttle shoots up when I try to take off... Must be something to do with pid tuning
Watch the series for all the steps... best of luck
