These secondhand manga stores seem like heaven tbh, super jealous since I don't think we get these in the UK.
Same here, almost all stores in the UK have new manga and never any used manga. The closest thing to used manga is the clearance section in a Forbidden Planet but it’s usually stale
@@poopyakuza8891 Mine doesn't even have a clearance section :( Just a very few manga will be on sale in the shelves, maybe about 4...
@@Sollux not many people know this but you can mail order from different forbidden planet stores through their social media’s. Just ask them to send you a pic of the sale section and pick from there. Got my Yowamushi pedal and toriko volumes through that

Must be nice to have a Book-off in your area! I appreciate these videos, since it's a good chance to see a bunch of interesting titles. Yes, Genshiken is an awesome classic and Natsume's Book of Friends is an amazing series, if you're into peaceful iyashikei supernatural stuff, the anime for Natsume is one of my favorites.

My used bookstore doesn’t have nearly as much used manga, it’s mostly new. But I check every week just to see if anyone brought anything good in. I’ve found a few good things!

I’m proud when carrying my manga ngl, I am quite protective of them if I find a volume that is difficult to find and if it’s the only one of that volume number on the shelf.

Oh, you definitely have to check out the manga for Karekano. The anime finished and there was still almost half of the series left. It definitely gets darker and touches some delicate themes, so I think it would be interesting for you. Natsume's Book of Friends is one of those series that is super famous in Japan but is a bit forgotten overseas. A really good mix of Supernatural stuff with Slice of Life, it's very well regarded. As soon as you said City Hunter I was going to tell you about the Spanish versions, but of course you have already checked them out haha, I'm so glad we're finally going to get a complete series by Hojo. Also GTO!! These months are going to be hectic for manga collectors in Spain. Good haul as always!! ❤

I do have a question about the ancient Magus bride series (I think thats what its called) but is it any good if youve read it? Everytime I go to barnes and noble its always there and its tempting to grab but theres a ton of volumes and I'm not sure where to start : /

Just finished collecting rurouni Kenshin through the singles my favorite anime and manga
Natsumes book of friends is my favourite manga, I highly recommend if you like wholesome stories, yokai and surroundings in forest :)

A Drifting Life is a good introduction to gekiga genre. Made by the father of gekiga himself, Yoshihiro Tatsumi.
It's an autobiography about him and manga industry in 40s~60s. Very intersting if you're into some real classics.
I’m starting to get into more of the classics as of lately, so imma definitely check him out. Thanks for the info 💪
@@Weeabruh also check out Shigeru Mizuki, Osamu Tezuka, Yoshihiru Tsuge etc for gekiga. I think BookDepo has most of their manga, mainly published by Drawn & Quartely in English.

Teach me the ways. haha, I only been to Chapters here in Canada once, it was so awesome, but I find online shopping better because at home I have my manga Book journey and I know what I need and what I have. But for DVDs, I know what I have and what I don't even if it's in person shopping XD lol maybe if DVDs were sold like Manga, Vol 1 - first 20 minutes of movie, Vol 2- 20 mins and so on, I'd be forgetful haha. Ooh TV Series are like long movies sold in Manga format tho, by episodes :O
On a side note, I watch other TH-camrs Manga REading vlogs, in a month some read like 8 volumes, I'm like wth. lol why do you think that is? Maybe they meditate on each panel and look into each one with a microscope haha. I do take my time because it helps pass the time at work in my free time. It's so relaxing.
I wouldve scooped up all those ippo volumes for 2 bucks each bcs its so expensive and painful to import them and its top 5 sports manga of all time for me

I saw you brush by "Bloom Into You," If you like romance, grab that, it's Yuri (not too sexual though) and a nice and short series, 8 Volumes. One of my all time favourites

I know he already responded to you, but big vouch for Bloom into You. I love the series so much. It's actually the first manga series I've owned physically cause I liked the anime so much. I know artwork in manga is usually really good (at least in my experience), but man, I love Nakatani Nio's style so much.

They recently started selling new which I hate cause it causes confusion and cause the prices are retail. For actually used stuff it will be anywhere between $2-$8. They usually price stuff $8 if they deem it “newer” or in like-new condition

It depends on if it’s new or used, but the prices in this book off are great, anywhere between $5-$12. I went to Lakewood not too long ago and an OOP volume was priced $25. Haven’t been back since

@@terskatti4994 if I decided to sell it, yes. I would sell it for what it’s worth, which in this case is double what I paid for. Could easily get triple what I paid. I buy to collect, and sometimes if I decide to, I sell my manga if I no longer want it or prefer a different edition so I can buy more manga.
