You are an extraordinary gentleman with a truly blessed family, Justin. The world could use more people like you and Stephanie. Grateful to have stumbled upon your channel many months ago. All the best to you and yours. P.S. I love how you continue to challenge yourself and raise the bar on your video production. Your content never gets old or stale. Keep being you.
Here's one to try. Old school country. Stew cut venison (one inch cubes), coat in seasoned flour, brown in pan with some oil. Combine with carrots, potatoes, onion, and mushrooms (I just like adding shrooms to everything - optional) in oven dish. Add some water or stock, cover and bake at 300 degrees for a couple hours. Pure old school glory right there... Loved the video! Enjoy!
We used to cook that roast in the crock pot with Italian salad dressing packet into the broth made it into Italian venison sandwiches for the super bowl party. Merry Christmas to you and your wonderful family.
Awesome! Just a tip we always cut our deer roast into small chunks it cooks better and all the individual pieces soak in the juice better while cooking! Give it a try👍🏼
If you want to try a great deer roast or beef put you roast in with potatoes and carrots and onions add some salt pepper garlic and a little cajun seasoning critter glitter(mulletman) then put a stick of butter and two packs of brown gravy mix cover and cook dont wrap it let it get nice and tender and enjoy have a merry christmas and keep them coming love yall's channel
Don’t need that much liquid so it will still brown up good and will make it more tender, the way it cooks in that thing will automatically keep it basting with the steam to much liquid is the reason it didn’t break down good! So next time I’d try to only cover a 1/4 of the roast in the bottom with liquid and it should work out a lot better!
Justin, when are yous going to get a smoker ? You can make jerky to take with you when you fish and camp. And pork ribs are amazing. I use the 3-2-1 method. Peel the membrane (silverskin) off, put a coating of mustard on both sides ( you won't taste it) and coat both sides with your favorite BBQ dry rub. Then (bone side down) smoke it for 3 hours with hickory at 225 degrees. Next wrap it in foil for 2 hours and lastly unwrapped for another hour. The tenderness and flavor is out of this world ! You'll get hooked.
My pork shoulders have the same issue. I cook them in aluminum pans and turn them a couple of times when smoking. Then I cover them and put them in a 250 degree oven for another 4-6 hours. All the juices are still around the meat, so it doesn't dry out. When done, you can pull it apart with a spoon! :) Merry Christmas!
hey there, LFG and OSG and little Em, I just wanted to take this moment to wish you a safe and happy Christmas and happy new year. I very much look forward to the many happy and fun times and adventures of 2020 and beyond. Big big love Hazardgirl Canberra Australia xxx
Merry Christmas!! Y'all should try slow cooking deer, beef, or pork along with all the vegetables in V-8 juice. Get a couple of the large containers of spicy V-8, pour enough in to cover the meat and veg', and slow cook it until it's done. It is really good! I always put slices in the meat so the juice can get down inside while it's cooking.
Mmmmm....looks delicious!!😋 Happy Holidays to everyone and their families❤️🎅🏻🎄✡ Love your channel🙌🏼👏🏼👊🏼✌🏼️🐟 Oh btw that stuff u were peeling off the meat it's called fascia. I'm a nurse lol.
In the hind quarter you have: top round, bottom round, sirloin tip, upper tender loin. That muscle group you are cooking is "sirloin tip". Your better hind quarter roast would be the top round.
My favorite that I've been doing a ton of is Italian venison. 2 packs of zesty Italian dressing packs(can sub one for a ranch pack which is also amazing), 1 stick of butter, 1 16oz jar of sliced peperoncini peppers (pour in the juice from jar as well), 1 diced onion and 3 bell peppers, a few bouillion cubes(I use better than bouillon that comes in a jar about 2 tsps of it) a good splash of some sweet red wine(use about a 1/4 to a 1/3 of the bottle). Cook low and slow until it can be shredded(6ish hours). Continue to cook after shredding for about 30 min then enjoy. For best results allow the cook (OSG) to utilize the rest of the wine 😂😂
I've done two roasts a few times and I doubled all the ingredients except for the dressing packs. I only used 3. But be prepared to feed about 15 people with doubling it.
🎉🎊🎉🎊🎉🎊🎉🎊 Seasons greetings to you and yours and may next year bring you all good health and great happiness. Thanks for all the great videos on both your channels. It’s been a great year and may 2020 be all you wish for and more. Stay well and God Bless you all. Ash 🏴 🎊🎉🎊🎉🎊🎉🎊🎉
It's epimysium also known as silver skin. Don't bother about connecting your ground to the trailer so long as you have good connection from your vehicle to the lights.
Bro it looked great the only from roast cooking experience. The only thing that I would have done different is a full hard caramelized sear it keeps it minister and hi heat on the crock pot. But it's my favorite deer meal. Keep em comin man.
Great Vid bro and a Very Merry Christmas to you and yours. To stop the floor tantrums, when she does that get on the floor with her and start kicking and screaming. It does work i did it with my boy. He looked at me like i was crazy and never did it again.
no disrespect but i love your old lady i got devoiced a few mouths ago because i hunt and fish to much and thats what she told the judge your so lucky bubba !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@lakeforkguy texas whitetail has almost zero intramuscular fat so low and slow is a no go. That’s what makes things like pork but and brisket tasty any juicy. You won’t get that from deer. Hot and fast methods are the best. Don’t take it past medium on the doneness. Those chunks of roast are best cut into steaks and grilled or fried.
First off.... GREAT VIDEO! Too bad y'all didn't catch any flounder. You should go down to Galveston and fish. I've caught some good reds, specks, and flounders there. Hell my brother in law and have caught some huge reds in Seabrook.
When we package it's the round roast but.. it's the spring that makes them such good at jumping therefore it is the toughest piece of meat on the deer!! it is completely lean meat with a lot of silver skin in many layers. so There's really nothing to do to make it juicy or tender. It tastes good but there's no way to make it really good, it's chewy and stringy like wet beef jerky! 🤔😎😜 The only recipe that I know that works is wrap it up in aluminum foil with onions and olive oil or butter or both, in the oven 225 for 16 hours.. you're better off grinding that roast into sausage..
At 1:57 , Idk why I am so curious, but is that door that is to like your 6 o'clock a pantry closet or is it just a closet or is it a room, and why is it so close to the front door, and now I am really curious how it looks from the outside lol
Just a little venison tip, always low and slow. I never cook a deer roast less than 8 hours. The longer and slower the better, also use your same recipe instead of the apple cider add red wine. I say that but haven't looked st the recipe, ha. Just going off of what OSG was saying. Try it let us know...
I seen you go by me in Weatherford on the 21 he was crossing 180 if that was not you it was a white pickup that look just like yours and a boat that look just like yours

Awesome! Just a tip we always cut our deer roast into small chunks it cooks better and all the individual pieces soak in the juice better while cooking! Give it a try👍🏼
Next time cook it on the lowest setting for at least eight to twelve hours. "Low and slow" makes it more tender. Love you guys !
@Jeff In Chicago I still call it a crock pot. Makes fantastic BBQ pulled pork, beef stew and chilli.

MERRY CHRISTMAS 🎄 TO MY MOST FAVORITE TH-cam CHANNEL AND GUIDE TO OUT DOOR LIFE AND FISHING !!!
You cook it until it breaks apart. Trust me , it will. I cook it all the time
Use a electric pressure cooker, makes it fall apart easier and takes no where near as long as a crockpot
Love the vids
Man that makes want a roast don't even have to be a deer just some good roast and potatoes. mmmmmmm.
It was at that point Justin realized he married a sleeper agent.
Merry Christmas Y'all.
Awesome video 👍 👍😎
Hi LFG...MONDO FAN and Former Chef here... You were trimming off what is called “Silver Skin”.
lfg has had a rough go but I love how he keeps pushing to bring us this awesome content
Great Vid bro and a Very Merry Christmas to you and yours. To stop the floor tantrums, when she does that get on the floor with her and start kicking and screaming. It does work i did it with my boy. He looked at me like i was crazy and never did it again.
How do you like having the rods strapped down to the deck, vs. a rod locker?
no disrespect but i love your old lady i got devoiced a few mouths ago because i hunt and fish to much and thats what she told the judge your so lucky bubba !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You don't need to tie the roast. Cook it in the crock pot like you did and it will fall apart and be very tasty. Merry Christmas!!!
I'm sad what happened to no holidays here Marry Christmas, finally Bevo is good to go

madmagrider my soul bleeds
@@chrisaguirre7018 low and slow works on deer as well. Just have to do it right.
I like to make shredded venison tacos like that but use taco mix in the broth shred it and put it back in the pot
Oranges and a cinnamon stick in with the roast? I might have to try that next time.
