Impressive. I got more energy and tips from you than I get from watching some seasoned photographers (old people like me). Nice job. Would love to see how you set up your lights etc. Again, great job you have talent!
What does delivering the photos look like? That's the part I get caught up on. Like, do you deliver them individually, all in one album, do you collect emails?
Hey Ava, how do you go about scheduling when the students have classes and you also have to schedule in everyones headshots, group shots, plus on court shots? Especially if the student doesn't necessarily want to miss out on class too much?
I usually shoot my media days on weekends so I haven't run into that problem too much. If I were doing it during the day, I would probably keep it very simple and stick to one background with the choice of 5-8 poses per person. I've learned that sometimes my ideas are too big for a project and it's better to keep it simple and work with what I have. Eventually, you'll be able to express your creativity the way you want on the project you want but it's better to be patient and not rush it! Hope that helps :)
That was so good! Very informative and helpful! Great job. Question and if you can’t answer…I completely understand. I am working on setting this up for my local school systems but don’t know how to charge for this kind of service. Any advice? Or how do you do that?? Thanks!
Great info! Love your energy on camera! Thanks for the video. I do have a question. How do you deal with the athletes or parents who want to use their phones to take pics of the tether screen? I've had this happen and my photo sales were low for those shoots. I'm assuming because they felt they already had the pics and didn't need to buy them.
You can charge per team and they can fundraise for it, you can talk with the athletic department/school district to see if they will cover it, or you can say "suggested donation of ______ per person". Talking with the coaches and athletic directors about payment will be helpful.
Check out 6:28 in the video ;) Sometimes the bottom/floor area of the backdrop gets dirty because of people's shoes and I have to edit that out as well as the dirty camera sensor.
I agree! I acknowledged that in the video haha. Thanks for the help anyway, this is a solid piece of advice! When I was first starting I had no idea what those marks were and it was so frustrating. @@MrJupton1
