Hey Anna why don’t you make a video on how to accessorise yourself according to the occasion and which accessories to buy in order to be feminine and elegant. Because many of us ladies end up over-accessorising ourselves for some occasion and others don’t know what to buy and what to wear. You have a point! I think I gave you a thumbs down by mistake, I meant to reply! I once got talking to a guy that was high up on Zara, and he told me that you should always alter your clothes, because they try to make them with the minimal fuss to fit almost everyone and that they end up fitting no one. He also said that jackets are OK as they've done them so often they always do them "right" but things like a fitted dress are virtually impossible. Altering clothes is the key, I think, specially now that we buy things online and , not sure about you, but I always end up with things that are not quite right...

@@purnimadas1712 It could be a clever possible solution, yes! Especially if I already owned a cutout dress, it could be a way for me to be able to wear it instead of leaving it to hang in the closet.
But seeing that I currently don't, I'd rather not invest money in a cutout piece and then have to search for a top or undergarment in the same colour to match, which might not be super easy to do in some cases, depending on the colour.

Not everything sexual is for men. Some people just feel confident in outfits that show their skin. I wouldn’t say that we “lack dignity” for dressing for ourselves. Sometimes it shows confidence and fearlessness. Another style, not another thing to women to bash each other on.
Some people just prefer a different style, and only girls without dignity will be dressing for another persons approval. Nothing wrong with the video, but I feel like this needs to be said. Tearing down other women won’t make anyone feel better. It certainly isn’t feminist.

I so agree! Plus, think of message it sends to girls, and young girls. If people insist on normalizing the over-sexualization of women, well, then girls will pick up on that, and see that.
I've already seen and known several women who were horrified to see overly-sexualized items and trends in clothing for tween girls. I knew one lady who resorted to buying boys shirts for her 12 year old daughter, because she was having a hard time finding ones in the girls section/stores that were not cropped, overly tight, had inappropriate messages, etc. I believe there was even one scandal where they were selling thongs at a tween store!
Like, okay, if all these visible underwear and tight crop tops are so freeing, why don't men just and free themselves in the same way, hahahaha! 🙂

Converse are comfortable because they're flat, which is also why they're ideal for skaters. Also A lot of sneakers are bulky and make feet look bigger. The shoelace free converse are super compact and hug your feet but are also flexible and won't cause blisters, making them perfect for spring and summer. I plan to buy the plain navy blue laceless converse again, wear them till I wear them out, and then buy them again and repeat the cycle for the rest of my life.

Women showing too much skin is definitely not empowering at all and will definitely send out the wrong message regardless of whether that was her intention or not. Female empowerment is about sophistication, self worth and self respect and what someone wears shows whether they have that or not. It goes for both men and women. BTW, I love the dress. As always, I agree with everything that Anna says, but this time I going to keep my converses 😂 shows a little bit of my alternative side. There are some one color options, like all black or all white if you’re not going for the “clown look”. I really think that the confort thing depends on the person who is wearing, some people like Anna find it really unconfortable, but I personally like it. After all this elegant journey, I decided to keep a few “non elegant” items, like my converses, a nice leather jacket, etc. I think that these little touches of another style that you like shows a little bit of personality beyond the elegant and polite. But of course, always respecting the occasion and the environment. Keep the casual where it belongs.

She told me it was very difficult to find any skirts in normal high street stores, only jeans... The one thing I agree with is that there are women who wear revealing clothing because of a trend while not even being comfortable in it. If it's not comfortable for you then don't wear it! If you feel uncomfortable showing skin then don't, if you feel uncomfortable wearing clothing that covers you in warm weather then don't! You know, I have thought about what it must be like to be a high-school girl now, and I think it would be really difficult. I mean, social media didn't even exist when I was in high school, and the trendy clothing was not tight or revealing, and I was still very self-conscience, as I believe pretty much all teen girls are.
So I'm thinking that if it was hard for me, and all the girls I knew, it must be so much harder now.
Because now you have social media, and also the clothing for teens seems so much more revealing/tight, etc.
I mean when I was a teen, in the late 80s/early 90s, the trendy clothing (here, anyway) was just things like regular jeans, and, oh, those slouchy socks, and maybe stirrup pants, and regular T-shirts from places like Club Monacoe, Au Coton, etc. But now I see teen girls and they all seem to be in super tight jeans, short shorts, tight crop tops, etc., and I think that must be really hard to deal with the pressure to dress like that, and feeling self conscience, and worry about their bodies, and social media on top of it.

Anna, I can't agree with you anymore.!!! Nowadays, the fashion market is cheap, fast fashion, unsustainable and hard to find the good piece of elegant, classic and feminine dress or outfit. love you and your charming Anna!

YES I'm so glad I watched this video! I don't quite consider myself to be "elegant" or ultra feminine, but that's mostly due to my own self-confidence. I grew up mostly in t-shirts or blouses with jeans, wanting to WANT to wear more feminine clothes but feeling kind of embarrassed to do so because I felt like people would just think I'm trying too hard. When I dress for business though I 100% embrace that side, and that's where trouble hits. I HATE these same trends you listed. A lot of them honestly feel very juvenile and shapeless, and even if I wanted to step outside of my jeans it's SO hard to find anything to wear because the trends are just way out there. I went to the mall yesterday and couldn't buy a single thing because of EXACTLY the points you made in this video! Cut-outs, cropped, boxy, unflattering clothing... and that goes for casual and business dress, it's SO hard to find clothes and now I understand why

Try Ann Taylor, Loft and Banana Republic. These are my go to stores for both work and casual.

Love your videos! Inside of me I always loved elegant style but I don’t know what happened to me, I had these nice looking dresses hanging but still would wear momma jeans and not so good looking clothes every day. Your videos helped me see it clearly and just take a leap and get rid of all of it. Thank you

I agree with all but the tie dye is fun and I will wear it for very casual moments lol

I always enjoy seeing that beautiful painting. I like one of my cotton tank tops if I tuck it into jeans with a belt and cowboy boots, but I also am dressing for the dog park or something outdoor and casual. Good to think about though.
    Good tips, thank you.

I heard that ppl who wear "immodest" clothing or not simple clothes may have a more humble heart than me even if wesr simple or modest clothes. I don't know their heart so I can't judge and I heard that from a guy so it's eye-opening. Thank you for this video that promotes preference and classiness.

I agree with you so much!! I wish there was a line of clothing for us, sick of the baggy clothes, I want to look chic, and feminine. Dress shabbily they remember the clothes, dress impeccably they remember the woman!!!

I used to hate converse until my bf got me the CDG ones. I tried them on and they've improved the sole a lot, much more comfortable than the older ones.

You should see Nigerian made tie dyes. They are beautiful! I agree with a few of your points. Everyone to his or her own taste of style.

Thank god someone finally addressed tie dye and androgynous clothing! I feel like I’ve been fighting an uphill battle the past few years with all of these trends on the market.

Neon doesn’t work for anyone and everyone but one example I fell in love with was the neon dress Chelsea tried on Selling Sunset. Neon can also be couture and reminds us fashion has no rules. Also love my blazers

Tie dye actually originated from west Africa, it used to be one by regal and royalty before colonialism and even till date it is still worn by a lot of affluent women in Nigeria obviously with a very different style than the westernised trend (More feminine and elegant like a flowing gown for example)

Anna, You absolutely hit the nail on the head with these fashion trends. There isn't one single item I have purchased this spring as the designs and trends are horrifying. I am 58 years, 5'1" and wear a size Small or 4-6. I don't wish to look like I'm auditioning for Little House on the Prairie or for a strip show either. I have updated my classics with new belts and shoes and called it a day! Thank you for this video.

I agree. I wear what I consider to be classical pieces and it doesn't matter if it's not in fashion at the moment.

I thought I was the only one who was having a hard time finding nice clothes lately..Everything is cropped and shapeless! It makes me feel better that I’m not alone.
