I had a '93 Si in Samba Green: it was the first and last car I ever bought new. I drove the bazoobs out of that car. My daughter and I (in her CAR SEAT!) enjoyed that thing to the hilt. I had it well after she got out of her car seat. I took that all over this fine nation of ours, and it never needed anything except regular oil changes and new tires. My friend's dad owned a local stereo shop, so she upgraded my stereo pretty quickly, and the stereo that was stock wasn't bad. The mileage was stupendous - 30ish mpg and more on the highway, and I'd know I commuted 40 mi RT for the whole time I had it. The trunk was deceptively large, even with the top stowed in the truck. I could fit a MTB w/out tires in a pinch (I had a '70 Chevelle at the same time, so if I was going riding...). I went camping in that thing: pop-up tent, old Coleman cooler, 2 sleeping bags, 2 duffels, never got crowed. I drove through pouring rain on the highway a number of times, and if you kept the windows up, and the rear window open "just so" it stayed dry if you were above 70 - the only water that came in was from the windshield funneling water to the side windows and the air would blow it in a little. I'd leave the top off for weeks on end in the KS summer. If it rained, you could towel the seats off or sit on the towel if you needed to and they'd be dry in short order. So Mrs. W, thinks they're ugly, cheap, and dated - and she's right, but they were functional. The car did tend to create undo ire from some people. I don't know how many times people would just shake their heads or flip a bird at the light - for NO reason. I'd have that car back in a heartbeat. I'm set to retire soon, and I was thinking of building a roached one back into something fun and worth driving again. I traded it after 7 or 8 years, and I only traded it because I got rear-ended. Selling it was a most unpleasant surprise for my daughter: she actually cried, and I've seen that kid cry probably 3 or 4 times in 29 years! I believe I had 163k on the clock when it went away.

I like my rice-up '97. The hood, top, headliner, rollbar cover, trunk, and rear facia are all carbon fiber. The motor is an Acura racing motor that redlines @ 9,000. Stainless braided brake lines, ceramic headers, Skunk 2 throttle body--it RIPS! I kinda wish I'd left the stock aluminum top, cause the carbon weighs almost as much, and when the top's up there's a lot of 'squeaks' going in and out of driveways, etc. It's my 2nd Del Sol--the last one got stolen. They are a thief magnet.
I have a 93 Del Sol SI in blue that we bought new and my husband has kept it maintained beautifully. We store it over the winter now and that first drive in the spring with the roof off is a thing of beauty! Love to see another one in such gorgeous condition.
I had a blue SI myself glad to see that you guys take such good care of it still and do you have that same color I owned two crx's first and 89 and a 91 Then I purchased the del Sol with very very low miles from the original owner a friend of mine was the beautiful blue that came in with the original blue seats original floor mats with the blue stripe as well I had the d16 z6 like the one in the video I know some pierced would hate me for modifying it at all but unlike most kids that go way overboard and put body kits and stickers and a ridiculous far can't exhaust on it I did not I did it very tastefully I did a very quality cold air intake a very nice header and a very nice quality sounding Cat-Back exhaust some of the best coilovers you could buy lowered it about 2 in and it's some strip bars front and rear and sway bars went through every piece of maintenance top to bottom front to back Everything maintenance wise on the engine top to bottom was done along with suspension front to back at my shop Course I would have loved a b16 model they were the rarest but the SI with a simple cold air intake header and full exhaust really wakes up these d16 z6s it actually was fairly quick and surprised a lot of people who had integras and other cars with bigger engines that were dual overhead cam instead of our single cam Anyways glad to see you still take care of it and still have it unfortunately mine was Pink by a stupid uninsured driver and totaled I then bought a 1995 Honda Civic Coupe that I've had for about 10 years and rebuilt from the ground up also own a very very rare only one of 500 ever made 2004 Honda Accord V6 6-speed coupe with the hfp Honda factory performance kit
Thanks Car Wizard, thanks a lot; I had this same year and trim model in '95, only it was in white! After about a year of ownership, the windshield weatherstripping at the top came off flopping against the taga top. I contacted my local Honda dealership and had it replaced. Years later it was a known thing that the adhesive that was used would become brittle and separate. I'm guessing the wind constantly blowing against the lip of the seal made it finally come off. I sold the car with 127k and nothing else was ever wrong with the car. 5-speed was perfect and it was perfect in snow without any snow tires. I'm in tears now......
3:04 Actually no. It would look factory if he would have put the ground wire back on the valve cover. He put it in the wrong spot. On the power steering pump to be exact. It supposed to go on the valve cover to protect the distributor just in case the spark plug wire fails and starts to ark on the ungrounded aluminum
you guys keep showing all these cars in really great shape for their age. like amazing condition! they have GOT to be coming through in a time machine!
Kinda makes me want to buy one now! I'd go for this one, but $18,000 is a bit out of my budget. But I'm sure someone else that just has to have a mint, perfect Del Sol will gladly pay that.
The coloured dots on the tire wall indicate where the tire should line up with the Schrader valve so You can perfectly balance the tire. Someone who put them on the rims probably had no clue. Btw, the floor mats are factory - "Del Sol" means "with sun" so that's why the stitching on them are so funny soloured.
Yeah I noticed Mrs. Wizard said “custom” floor mats. It’s weird, because it does look like they were “custom” made but it’s definitely the factory mats (hard to find and pricy to get!) Not everyone will know the quirky little things about the car, except Doug lol
@@garyr7027 Yes, those tires may be new, but they're cheap. For such a nice car, in such amazing condition, I would spent a bit more for better quality tires like Michelin or BF Goodrich, though I suspect those small tire sizes are getting hard to find, so you might have to settle for whatever is available, even if it's cheap tires if you wan to keep the stock size.
I have a 93 del sol , in the same colour !! I absolutely love it ! i have wanted one since i was a kid and finally found one in Quebec from a guy that has a couple for a very decent price needs some work but will be well worth it when it is all restored to what i want it to be ! the seals for the windshield and even the targa top are very hard to find , i always check eBay and Kijiji to see if any one is parting out, but normally no no one has the seals unfortunately ! I hope they remake this car in the coming years would be pretty cool to see ! Sweet care Bob ! what a great and rare shaped car to find !!!
Totally understand, I once was going to trade in my 95 Cobra for a nice 96 Cobra with the factory Mystic paint. I decided against it as that car would be my daily driver and I couldn't bring myself to destroy that paint daily driving it.
My wife had this exact car, same colour and same style wheels. She absolutely loved it. It ran like a top was was great on gas and a blast to drive. It too was in immaculate condition and I sold it 11 years ago for more than double what other delSols in the area were going for. I bought her an Infiniti G37S but she never forgave me for selling it. I still hear about it to this very day. Oh, btw, the only other thing missing on this car are the exhaust tips. Euro Asian Bob should try and source them, it really improves the look.
I have pretty much the same car in paradise blue green pearl with 45.000 km on it, no rust, no dents, etc and it absolutely love it. the only thing is that i am always scared to damage it while driving
I bought a brand new 1995 B-16 engine VTEC del Sol in 1996 and drove it til it was stolen with 77,000 mi. It was a snot, lots of fun, required premium fuel. I replaced it with a MBZ 300SL. Not nearly as enjoyable but it did look more serious. Two years ago I found a ‘95 cypress green SI auto with 35K miles on EBay, no reserve. I was the first to bid $5000 opening bid and no one bid against me so I won the auction. It now has 42K miles and gets ~35 mpg on regular. I’m 6’3” and fit into it quite comfortably. I have an anti theft device on this one.
That’s the nicest looking example I’ve seen since they were new. Great find, Bob! I see these once in a while, and they’re always in terrible condition, and rusted out. I hope whoever buys this one really loves it and continues to take good care of it!
I looked at buying one new and I thing the one I looked at was 13K or so. It was going to be a 4th car and I limited my search to < 15K. I ended up buying a fully loaded 96 or 97 Sunfire Convertible ( leather , 4 seater, power everything ) for about the same price and much faster. 130 or 140 HP I think.
a VTEC was 20k new. This is a S or something so it was closer to 14k new. There are tons of S and Si's and VTECs in good condition are rare as hell and worth 2-3X what a S or Si is. Good condition Si's go for around 14,000 today. This one has really low miles so if tis a Si then maybe 18 is justified but it's not a VTEC.
@@JetSkiBuyFixPlaySellChannel It is the SOHC Vtec model, known as the delSol Si making 125hp. The DOHC Vtec model, known as delSol VTEC was only made for 2 years and made 164hp. I believe there were only 3500 or so DOHC Vtec models produced over that limited run. The base model delSol S made 105hp.
Even though I’ve never driven I Type R, I can definitely say it’s more fun than my ‘02 RSX-S. My dad just recently got the title back from my uncle for his old ‘95 VTEC, also in Milano Red. It’s our project car and we’re still working on refurbishing it. The B16A3 recently got rebuilt and runs better than ever, and it also got a fresh coat of paint to go with it. Still needs some work, but I’m totally in love with it.
Nice car. There's a lot of things that should be done to a twenty-six year old car like that to have it in best condition even though it has low mileage and it is a Honda. I'd recommend: Check condition of the radiator, pressure test the cooling system, replace the thermostat and upgrade coolant to blue HOAT. Should change the timing belt and accessory belts. Replace the fuel filter. Drain and fill the manual transmission fluid. Change oil and oil filter. Check engine air filter. Bleed the brake fluid and clutch fluid. If all those items have been serviced already then that's great.
Hey Wizard, I live in New Zealand, final destination for most interesting JDM cars. I checked marketplace and found a De Sol being parted local straight away, so if you're serious and don't mind shipping I can find one no worries.
Oh man.. I once had interest in a black ‘96 del sol a few years ago. It was beat to crap. No way I could go through with it. I couldn’t even get the smog registration done if I tried! Aftermarket headers, exhaust, etc. Something like this is worth the price.
I have been looking at 8th gen Civic Si's lately (06-11) and they are ALL DESTROYED or modified terribly....When I had mine new in 2007, I didnt touch it. Just enjoyed it how it was! I wish I never sold it. It's sad these old Hondas, which are such great cars, through and through, have been destroyed, Not to mention, Everyone wants over $15K for a Civic Si with over 150K miles, major mods including suspension, ECU tunes, etc and expect people to pay it! These vehicles were $4500 all day at one point...Shame...
We had one of these come into the shop I worked at a few years ago. It had a system where the trunk lid rose up vertically, two arms came out grabbed the roof, stored it inside the trunk lid and then sunk back down. Roof replacement was a reverse of this. Really cool to watch in action.
I just bought one of these as a first car a couple months ago after wanting one for probably over a year. I really couldn't love it more. Its an automatic '93 SI in Samba Green with 161k miles. Its not in nearly as good of shape as the one in this video, but it is stock, and has a healthy motor. I'm working on restoring it, getting it back looking extremely clean like it just left the showroom, and eventually I'd like to convert it to manual. Thank you for sharing this beautiful Del Sol with us! ❤

The Honda CRX is such a great car, that goes really hard even with it's small VTech Engine.. I so wanted one of these not long after getting my drivers license..
I currently own a 1995 Honda Del Sol SI with 230,000 miles. Lot of work done since I got it, but I absolutely love it. It's the best car I have ever owned and I have been waiting for you to get one in your shop. This video made me really happy and seeing it in the scion tc video made me very excited. D16Z6 1.6L SOHC VTEC with a four speed automatic. Includes factory spoiler and rainbow floor mats. Frost white exterior, black interior with custom two tone black/white leather seats
That’s pretty extraordinary. I recall when these first appeared… they replaced the fantastic CRX, and the critics were disappointed. You’re right, it does resemble the MR-2 a little bit. I initially thought the Del Sol was mid-engined.
I've had a 93 MR2 Turbo and a 93 del Sol Si, and had way more fun and less stress in the del Sol. That curved rear window tends to fog up easily with the engine in the back. No such problems with the del Sol since you can always roll down the rear window. I didn't have to worry about premium fuel, cooling off the turbo, or snap oversteer. On 17's the car felt like it was on rails.
All the cars back then wore smiles. Now they all look upset like they could use an oil change. Dad worked Marketing at UP railroad importing cars. He always told me that those hooks underneath were tie downs for shipping on the boats and trains.
Great content on a little known car. I love the trunk, bigger than modern SUVs. So easy to work on because it's so light and so much room in the engine bay.
Loves cars like this, I think the early 1990s - late 2000’s was the golden years for cars, and cars from that era will always be the valued and desirable in the future
My '93 SI 5 speed only leaks a tiny bit above the drivers side window in a hard rain. I keep a towel in one of the rear compartments just in case. Ironically it leaks less with the top off... let me explain. I got caught in a rain storm one time a mile from my home and I elected to not stop and put the top back on but just keep just driving home (without stopping). Well, to my amazement the rain was actually swept over the car as I drove and I remained bone dry! Never tried it again. Nowadays I only take it out on sunny days.
My wife had one of those, called a CRX-VTEC-R in the UK. Amazingly reliable for what amounted to a race engine with over 100BHP/litre. The only problem was an appetite for headlight bulbs which were unobtainable in the UK (it was a Japanese import), so I had to modify the base of H4 bulbs with a Dremel tool. The roof goes squeaky so the sealing rubbers should be lubricated with Shin Etsu Honda silicone grease.
My first brand new car was a 1986 CRX Si in black. Loved that car. When I moved to California I drove from the East Coast. Sold it 1ith over 150k miles for $4,000.00. Unfortunately the Del Sol replaced the CRX. Even though the Del Sol in your shop is pristine and in incredible shape, I miss the CRX.
The Car Wizards truly had the coolest walk on TH-cam! I'd love to see a continuous loop video of him just waddling around on his stubby little legs with Pantera's WALK as the background music. Maybe if enough people give this post a thumbs up The Car Wizards will make such a video!
Most people don't look after their stuff... I'd say that most people clean their car interior once or twice a year (if not never), many rely on the rain to clean the outside. What's great is, the person who buys this won't be a dirtbag as noted above. They'll pay the extra because they appreciate the condition, and will respect what the previous owner committed to.
But... those new owners are rare as all hell that want to buy. Noone wants to pay the extra. And the real car people too dont want to, unless theyre going to act as a scalper and relist for far more. Its a needle in a haystack to find the car, pay a decent price, or to find someone willing to.
Yeah the the owner definitely looked after it... But I imagine he didn't have to wash it or clean it much since he NEVER drove it . 35k I think he said it had.
@@321981jdm I don't know , they want 18k for a 95 Civic del Sol seems like a lot for a sweet 16 car. Either way that price is insane I don't care how clean it is... Still like a 25 year old Honda Civic.
@@321981jdm Maybe. Though you might get some Honda collectors who get a kick out of maintaining one in original condition. Actually, speak to a 16yr old girl, she prob wouldn't be seen dead in this in 2021. Lol!
Never owned one myself, but a friend had one with an unknown VTEC engine swap and unknown transmission that was totally mismatched. He let me drive it a lot and it was a blast, and an absolute screamer. Would love to have one in the late model Si trim.
B18C5. The B18C was the engine in the JDM Integra GS-R. Though maybe you were just referring to the family of engines, because B18C-anything were amazing.
I still have my black 1993 Si complete with dealer installed rear spoiler and door mounted tweeters. Immaculate interior and only a couple dings on the body. Even has the original Ziebart (undercoating) sticker on the rear window. Drove it yesterday with Fleetwood Mac playing on the new Alpine head unit and floor mounted subwoofer. Almost sold it once. Buyer came with check in hand to pick it up but I told him I changed my mind. Keeping it forever!
I have a 1995 Honda Civic Si, manual with 175k miles, but in similar condition. It's completely unmodified no suspension, engine, exhaust mods, and even still has original tapedeck and hubcaps. The interior is as immaculate as this Del Sol, but the exterior paint is a little chalky in some spots now; but no rust! I love it to death. Even though it only has about 128hp, it has excellent pep, and handling. Sure easy bolt-on mods would improve performance significantly, but why? For what? It's more of a thrill to drive a vehicle original, as Honda (intended?). I was blown away by the stock engine and exhaust sound, as I've never heard a stock example. Anyway, this Del Sol is beautiful and saw the need to brag about my original 90s Honda. They're truly a gem.
The entire thing is in really great shape. Doesnt show most of the signs of use and wear/aging like most do. Like the door panel wrinkles I didnt see present.
I had a 94. It was a d engine with a 5 speed. Super fun to drive. One day the battery light came on and it was running like crap. I was about 15 miles from home and turned around. Got home noticed all of the belts were off of the pulleys. I was super lucky I made it home without the battery dying. Turns out the crank pulley bolt worked itself out, and it took a huge chunk out of the timing cover. All of the splines on the crank were worn away from the pulley being lopsided on it. Bought it in 2015 for 1200. Died on me in 2018 and I sold it as a parts car for 600. Guy put a new engine in it and still drives it to this day. Loved that car. Loved taking the top off and the back window down on summer night with my numerous girlfriends. I had a mercedes E55 at the time and I preferred the del sol just because it handled well and the 5 speed mske it a blast to drive.
Aaah, I just scrapped my 93 del sol... i had tons of parts but i was too lazy to post them. Lots of originals... I absolutely loved that car. I brought it back from the dead twice... not enough money for the 3dr time when I was in school
from the condition, I am going to guess this was a “weekend car.“ Lived its entire life inside the garage, except when it was brought out during the summer when the weather was nice for a weekend drive.
As someone who just recently had to change the crankshaft pully on one of these bad boys due to ..... reasons, I can say without a doubt, that the hardest bolt to ever have to take off of any vehicle in order to service a part was the crankshaft pulley bolt. HOLY MOLY!!! Glad to see these still getting love after all these years.
with the proper (high impact) tools it's really easy (takes me about 5 seconds to loose this both, whereas it's a b**** to get loose with hand tools/really long breaker bars.
Also if that is a 95, its not 1.5. its a d16z6 1.6 liter :P The Delsol had 3 models. Delsol S (115 hp), Delsol Si (126hp) and Delsol vtec(160hp). The S had a 1.5 non vtec d15, the si had the 1.6 vtec and then the "vtec" model had a 1.6 twin cam b16a3. Also ALso lol The floor mats are factory floor mats and not "custom". That car is insanely factory fresh, I haven't seen one stock stock in years!
ahh its a D16Z6. I was so confused by the vtec, I was like is that a fake cover or something? it only makes 125hp, compaed the the 160hp b16a in the vtec model car. and the redline is 7200, not the 8500 redline of the b16a
I had 1993 DelSol that I bought new. It was the 3738th one in the US. A couple of points that I noticed about this one. The labels/decals on the back are gone. Combine that with the odd rear bumper gaps and the over spray underneath in the rear (but not the front) and this car has had some work done. This appears to be the S model, except that it has cruise control. The tail pipe does not have the chrome finisher and the muffler is not black (factory standard). Under the hood the valve cover looks to have been refinished instead of having the black finish from the factory. The floor mats are aftermarket. Other fun facts about the DelSol... the rear window rolls down for some nice ventilation, the rear cubbies are lockable. When the roof is in the trunk, the trunk is still usable. The roof takes up very little space, and the tubular rack it sits in tilts up on gas struts. Mine was an Si 5 speed car and it got 36 mpg around town. On the highway it got closer to 50 mpg. The rear quarter sight lines are atrocious. Oh. And the car is quieter with the roof off than with the roof on. I brought my son home from the hospital in it when he was a baby. 18 years later I gave him the car.
I agree with everything you noted even the tail pipe finisher...great story about your son. I still have my black 1993 Si 5 speed with 80,000 miles, complete with dealer installed rear spoiler and door mounted tweeters. I'm thinking of having the timing belt checked after reading some of the comments here. Keeping it forever!
Not S due to the Z6 engine, front sway bar and rear disc breaks. Though you're definitely on to something with the missing rear decals, poor rear bumper fitment and muffler. Could have had a minor rear end bump.
@@cracklingice Hey, thanks for the tip. It runs so well and I never have any problems that I keep forgetting that I should be doing maintenance based on age as opposed to miles.
The missing trim seems to be a windshield weatherstrip. I found it on ebay for about 50 dollars. Posting links is disabled on this channel, so you will have to search for it, sorry.
Thats a rare enough car without being in perfect condition! Of note, the muffler isn't original but that's not surprising with the age and lack of use, it prob rusted out from the bottom. Also, I'd do the timing belt just by its age. Yes, it could be argued that anything rubber under the hood should be done, but hoses and accessory belts aren't nearly as critical if they were to fail. I have seen old, low milage timing belts simply shear their teeth off from being dry/brittle.
Totally agree on the timing belt. If it snaps it’ll tear up the engine. Unless I could see a receipt showing it had been replaced recently I would assume it was ready to go! Do the water pump and other belts too!
First of all the Del Sol that sold for 20k was a Si in the limited green. This appears to be an S (lowest trim) in the most popular color.... Personally I think bob will be lucky to 12-14k out of this.
This is an SI.(Middle trim :S, SI, VTEC) rear disc brakes, 1.6ltr D16Z6 single cam vtec, power mirrors and windows. In the video the Wizard says 1.5ltr, but this is a D16 and definitely an SI.
I missed an Isle Green VTEC? Not that I could afford 20k anyway - or would be able to justify driving it ever. If I had a '95 IGP VTEC with 30k miles, I'd HODL that thing like it was a bitcoin.
Wow that one is super clean. I had a 94, drove it from Ohio to California and around for 5 yrs, then back to Ohio only replacing brakes and a thermostat. Sold it with 293K and still saw it driving around years later. Those are great cars, little more power would have been nice tho.
i have had 2 over the years and both were beat with a stick by the time I had them never seen one that was left unmolested also i fit pretty good at 6ft3 I did notice the armrests on the door panels glue gave up but not much to be done for that
Once Taiwan catches up with the chip shortage and the economy gets really, really bad such that new cars are piling-up on dealer's lots all over the country, *the people who spent crazy money for used cars are going to feel a little foolish!*
This is not a used car. It's a classic. Though I do agree the price is too high. It's just an SI and could have potentially had a fender bender in the rear. Probably closer to 9-12k.
I used to work at a Honda dealership and had a customer that was the original owner of a '94 Civic Del Sol 5 speed (same color as this one) which she had purchased brand new from that dealership. It had 82K miles on it and ran like a top.
I personally don't like it when people knock cars from the days gone by...like if its any more than 10 years old and doesn't entertain you with screens and buttons as you drive down the road it's not worthy of a second thought. This little Del Sol has way more personality and fun factor, to me anyway, than most of what you can buy new today. It must be the truth, because people sure line up to buy things like this if and when it surfaces! Great find Mr and Mrs Wizard (and EuroAsian Bob)!
My mom gave me hers a few years ago. She bought it new. It’s a ‘93 Si in Granada black with 55,711 miles. Unmolested and in as good as shape as that beauty. But $18k? I clearly need to re-evaluate my insurance on it.

I had a blue SI myself glad to see that you guys take such good care of it still and do you have that same color I owned two crx's first and 89 and a 91
Then I purchased the del Sol with very very low miles from the original owner a friend of mine was the beautiful blue that came in with the original blue seats original floor mats with the blue stripe as well I had the d16 z6 like the one in the video
I know some pierced would hate me for modifying it at all but unlike most kids that go way overboard and put body kits and stickers and a ridiculous far can't exhaust on it I did not
I did it very tastefully I did a very quality cold air intake a very nice header and a very nice quality sounding Cat-Back exhaust some of the best coilovers you could buy lowered it about 2 in and it's some strip bars front and rear and sway bars went through every piece of maintenance top to bottom front to back
Everything maintenance wise on the engine top to bottom was done along with suspension front to back at my shop
Course I would have loved a b16 model they were the rarest but the SI with a simple cold air intake header and full exhaust really wakes up these d16 z6s it actually was fairly quick and surprised a lot of people who had integras and other cars with bigger engines that were dual overhead cam instead of our single cam
Anyways glad to see you still take care of it and still have it unfortunately mine was Pink by a stupid uninsured driver and totaled I then bought a 1995 Honda Civic Coupe that I've had for about 10 years and rebuilt from the ground up also own a very very rare only one of 500 ever made 2004 Honda Accord V6 6-speed coupe with the hfp Honda factory performance kit

Actually no. It would look factory if he would have put the ground wire back on the valve cover. He put it in the wrong spot. On the power steering pump to be exact. It supposed to go on the valve cover to protect the distributor just in case the spark plug wire fails and starts to ark on the ungrounded aluminum
I love the rear retractable window. I am surprised that you didn't demonstrate it.
True. He also should have demonstrated the well engineered method of stowing the top.
I had one as my first car and the power rear window was fantastic for just getting fresh air. No wind came into the cabin.

I bought a ‘94 del sol this past summer and I absolutely love it. There hasn’t been a moment behind the wheel I haven’t enjoyed yet
They're cheap tires, yellow dots to align with the valves, red dots for the high spots. Tires are out of round, could prove difficult to balance.
Shame the owner didnt invest fifteen dollars for some rubber mats.
This is too good of a car. I can never own something like this, I'll be too afraid of ruining it
um ya ok. Are you a fucking savage or something ?
Totally understand, I once was going to trade in my 95 Cobra for a nice 96 Cobra with the factory Mystic paint. I decided against it as that car would be my daily driver and I couldn't bring myself to destroy that paint daily driving it.
I sold my 96 SiR transtop for the same reason, too good of a car to risk being wrecked/stolen
Euro Asian Bob should try and source them, it really improves the look.
then buy her this one. make up for your error!
Yes, I don't believe that's a stock muffler.
I think it has had rear damage, i noticed overspray under the rear bumper, that is maybe why it doesn't have the exhaust tips...
What a time capsule! I test drove a used one back in the mid 90's but ended up purchasing a used 1991 MR2 non-turbo and still have it.
I have pretty much the same car in paradise blue green pearl with 45.000 km on it, no rust, no dents, etc and it absolutely love it. the only thing is that i am always scared to damage it while driving
One of my favorite Hondas ever! Awesome to see such an impressive survivor.
Wow - I have not seen one looking that good since they were _new_! Neat little trip back in time on this video. :)
Com to the PNW they're everywhere.
That’s the nicest looking example I’ve seen since they were new. Great find, Bob! I see these once in a while, and they’re always in terrible condition, and rusted out. I hope whoever buys this one really loves it and continues to take good care of it!
Amazing find. I'd have to look but $18k may be more than when they were new. I remember looking at one on the lot. Someone loved that car.
In Europe they are much cheaper, their is a 95 1.6 Vtec around my corner listed for 8000 dollars with 56,760 Miles!

Still needs some work, but I’m totally in love with it.
The B16A model was a blast to drive. I smiled every time it hit VTEC
Also new distributor--they are a weak point.

But yet, only the Miata survived.
Good point! I have a del sol that I daily drive and people look at that car as if it fell from the sky because it's so obscure.
I purchased a 98 Honda Legend a few days ago. Still drives like new.
It is a crx pretty much everywhere else.
Cool to see that Miss Wizard loves the Honda’s!
Wow this is almost factory condition! And when I saw the stick shift, I immediately said, I WANT!!!
My aunt had a red one like this and then a black one. Always loved these too!
Never have I ever seen a stock del sol.
Even though the Del Sol in your shop is pristine and in incredible shape, I miss the CRX.
del Sols fall far short of a CRX....
Del Sol so much better than CRX. Hatchbacks are so boring and were still available in the Civic line anyway.

Good aftermarket parts are expensive. Basically you'd spend as much as the value of the car getting it as reliable as the oem parts. Keep it stock

About 6 years back, I helped sell my friend's Del Sol VTEC w/75k for $3,000. Granted the paint, body and interior needed attention.
I had a mercedes E55 at the time and I preferred the del sol just because it handled well and the 5 speed mske it a blast to drive.

from the condition, I am going to guess this was a “weekend car.“ Lived its entire life inside the garage, except when it was brought out during the summer when the weather was nice for a weekend drive.
Yup, with only 36K on it for a '95 model and the condition o the paint and lack of rust it was defiantly garaged it's whole life.
I agree with this assertion. That's really the ideal scenario for a car like this kind of car if the owner could swing it.
As someone who just recently had to change the crankshaft pully on one of these bad boys due to ..... reasons, I can say without a doubt, that the hardest bolt to ever have to take off of any vehicle in order to service a part was the crankshaft pulley bolt. HOLY MOLY!!!

Though you're definitely on to something with the missing rear decals, poor rear bumper fitment and muffler. Could have had a minor rear end bump.
@@paco728 10 years or 100k miles on timing belt iirc. Do tensioner and water pump with it.
@@cracklingice Hey, thanks for the tip. It runs so well and I never have any problems that I keep forgetting that I should be doing maintenance based on age as opposed to miles.
I wish my del sol was in this nice condition wow!
Thanks Wizard and Mrs. Wow great looking car.
First of all the Del Sol that sold for 20k was a Si in the limited green. This appears to be an S (lowest trim) in the most popular color.... Personally I think bob will be lucky to 12-14k out of this.
This is an SI.(Middle trim :S, SI, VTEC)
rear disc brakes, 1.6ltr D16Z6 single cam vtec, power mirrors and windows.
Those are great cars, little more power would have been nice tho.
i have had 2 over the years and both were beat with a stick by the time I had them never seen one that was left unmolested also i fit pretty good at 6ft3
I did notice the armrests on the door panels glue gave up but not much to be done for that
Very common. The important part IMO is that they're not split - because that comes next.
This is mint! All the ones in my neck of the woods have been run down, eaten by corrosion, or stolen for the B16 drivetrain.
This is my favorite car that’s been on your channel it is just beautiful
I saw something similar. It was a 1995 Kia Sephia with 174k low miles. That thing will sell for at least $80.
Of the many old cars we have seen in your shop this one at least makes sense. It is fun to drive, and will still hold up very well
This thing looks better than my 9 almost 10 years old civic with way more miles
Thank you for this video, Wizard! That is such a gorgeous Honda😍
Raise your hand if you'd take this any day of the week over a modern BMW!
Honda's do not last like Toyota's.
I used to have a 94 Del Sol with a turbo JDM D15B. Fun little car. One of the most favorite car I've owned.
My mom gave me hers a few years ago. She bought it new. It’s a ‘93 Si in Granada black with 55,711 miles. Unmolested and in as good as shape as that beauty. But $18k? I clearly need to re-evaluate my insurance on it.
I got a 93’ that needs a lot of work. Watching this makes it look like I’m gonna be working on my car forever.
