    Well this took longer than I thought, but then doing this on your own (apart from the roof) was never going to make it quicker. Glad the majority of work is now complete, but I still have some loose ends to tidy up; I’ll cover these, my thoughts and how much this all cost (in time & money) in an upcoming video.
    In the UK I purchased the shed from Amazon.
    I look forward to your comments & please subscribe.

    I put a 6 x 4 Keter manor shed up a few weeks ago and with out a shadow of a doubt the roof was the hardest part to do. It was a nightmare to get slotted in, but with the spatula and a delicate blend of psychology and extreme violence I finally managed it.

      Oh those roofs... totally get where you are coming from & what a relief when it finally fits into position!

      @@diydick434 Absolutely, the harder the problem the greater the satisfaction when you finally nail it. I must be a glutton for punishment though as I now have to put up a Keter Darwin as the Mrs could not get hold of a manor like the aunt did. The roof looks even more of a mare, looks like I might need some Valium on that one :)

      @MrGogania Keep going you will get there in the end. Then sink a few beers, and let the pain drift away Lol. I can say after all this time it has held up well and to my surprise has not leaked and not one tool in there has gone rusty.

    Just built a similar one from Keter- got to the roof and it turned into a nightmare 😅 anyway took a break and watched this. Was super helpful seeing you bashing it 🤣 made me think hmm maybe I don't need to be so gentle with it... gave me an idea!
    So my top tip to pass on for anyone stuck with the roof!... ⬇️
    The rail attached to the roof that slots onto the sides can be bent back on itself if it's too tight. 😱
    Barely needed to use the spatula this way and drilled in the screws as I went to hold it down. Then there was just a corner left that needed wiggling into place :)
    Don't wrestle with the roof any more folks!!
    Obviously be careful, but it was super bendy and you can see when it's at more of a 90 degree angle it will fit :)

      Sorry i am not that bright. Can you explain more “can be bent back on itself”? Are you doing this from this inside or outside?

    I have exactly the same shed as this,
    But I noticed on your one you haven't fitted a rail in the roof (part b1a),
    Im having a nightmare fitting the roof with this part so I take it you don't need it?

    My advice from my own experience it to paint the hinges and door bolt with a couple of coats of quality paint because they will ( and do rust)

    Hi DIY Dick Would I get away without a base as I plan to build it at the back of a flattish tarmac drive? Thanks 🙏🏽

    We put our shed up at the weekend. I was very careful with ensuring every side panel was sitting exactly into the frame. Was hoping this would prevent issues with fitting the roof. With an extra pair of hands the roof was clipped into place in less than 10 mins. Did one gable end first. Definitely recommend 3 people for the roof. Thank you Dick for a cracker of a video this did give me confidence as a female to buy a keter Shed.

    • @diydick434
      @diydick434  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello, glad you enjoyed it. Sure, and I didn't actually fix the shed floor to the base (i.e. Probase & Gravel) - this might sound counter-intuitive & strange but as soon as you start filling it I promise it's not going anywhere!

    • @CaroleCollins-e3k
      @CaroleCollins-e3k 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      My 6x 8 shee has the option of screwing it in to the concrete base, but I'm not going to as shifting the partially completed shed was so heavy for 2 strong blokes so it was level , means even in the most powerful storms, with stuff stored inside it's not going anywhere and is protected on 2 sides by fencing.

    Hi Dick, just wondering how the shed is holding up a couple of years on and do you have issues with condensation? Thanks

    I have ordered a Keter shed 6x5 can I ask are the screw points marked on the structure? or does the instructions tell where to secure with the screws? Super helpful video. But not looking forward to the roof.

    Good Vid Dick. How did you anchor the shed in case of high winds? Thanks in anticipation.

    • @diydick434
      @diydick434  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great, thank you. I didn't actually anchor it but let the weight of everything I put in it keep it in situ. It survived very high winds earlier in the year without any problems (I did a quick video on that too). If you need to fix it I recommend looking at a solid base at least in part and then using some self tapping masonry screws.

    Great video Dick ... are these plastic sheds really waterproof and good for electric/metal DIY tools ... just worried they might get rusted? ... I need to move those tools out of the cleam workshop.

    • @diydick434
      @diydick434  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you. I've had mine for over a year now & all is dry inside plus no condensation either - it's a little sheltered though & mainly used as a wood store, but I'd definitely put tools in one given my experience so far
