At the end of each FIM 6DAYS day, riders perform their own bike maintenance, such as tire changes, refueling, and inspections. Mechanics can only offer advice and prepare tools but cannot physically assist. Unauthorized help results in penalties, highlighting rider self-sufficiency and mechanical skills as key components of the competition.

The fact that FIM have such strict time limits on service when only the rider can work on mechanicals of bike really does show how much they are leaving riders open to being hurt or DNF an event due to missing something.
Practice makes perfect, as in anything. By now this is part of 6 days history, rider taking care of his bike. Many trail riders now a days just drop their bike off at the shop. Shocking.
If you can't change a tire or air filter you don't deserve to ride any motorcycle
@bradsanders6954 agreed, was just referring to the strict time frames in service, very limited time and you can see how fast they need to work just to do basic maintenance without any repairs or checking.

@@troycrimmin796it’s an endurance event. These rules are historic. They can work on the bike 15 minutes at night, 10 in the morning and any time in the day.
