Twilight SUP at Sandringham Harbour

Looking for some flat water and a more sheltered spot to paddle on Port Phillip Bay? In this video we do a twilight stand up paddle at Sandringham Harbour, on Port Phillip Bay, approximately 17.7 km from Melbourne CBD. Sandringham Harbour is a dog friendly beach located at the bottom of Jetty Road, off Beach Road.
This is a good spot for beginner paddle boarders, whilst the more experienced have access to plenty of open water once clear of the Marina area.
About Us:
We’ve been using our stand up paddle boards for just over a year now and we are totally addicted! In this channel we share with you our journey as we explore all the different places to paddle here in Melbourne, Victoria and the wider area (when we hit the road). We also aim to answer all the questions we have had as beginners to the world of stand up paddling.

Launch Location Location:
This beach is located at the bottom of Jetty Road, Sandringham. Jetty Road can get quite busy on the weekends, especially when there is a football game on at the oval on the corner of Jetty and Beach Roads. There is plenty of parking adjacent to the Yacht Club and a small amount of parking opposite the beachfront kiosk and cafe. These spots fill up fast, so best to get here early on the weekends. This beach is an off leash area for dogs, so keep that in mind and you will notice the sand is quite dark and the water a little murky here at times. The entry point we used is off the beach and it is quite shallow in parts. There are a lot of boats here but it was quiet when we did this paddle. There are lessons for SUP and Kayaks run here some weekends. You will also find SHQ Boardsports conveniently located nearby on Beach Road.
