Really interesting discussion. I'll admit, when I first saw Bun, I thought "oh boy, here we go again..." but after hearing Jarred speak about it, I believe it's addressing a yet-to-be fulfilled need in the JS ecosystem. It's cool seeing someone dedicated to using what they feel are the right tools for the job instead of just jumping on the Rust hype-train.
@@echoptic775 Sure, many have legitimate reasons because Rust is very good at certain things. But I can't tell you how many companies I've seen adopting it simply because it's popular. Disproportionately more than with other tools. If you're in the SWE industry long enough, you'll see this time and again.
