A better way to summarise a book is:
Read the table of contents carefully, focus on the introduction, randomly flip through the pages, skim the important paragraphs, especially the first or last sentences, looking for any bold words, have a quick read of the last page.
I wrote a book review for my English teacher just like that. She never realised that I hadn't really read the book at all.

I read a book like these kids before. The book had a lot of pictures and the faster you flip through it. It makes the picture looks like it was moving.

Speed reading is a thing, and our subconscious minds read fast than we are aware of, but this ain't it. If you've ever been reading aloud and accidentally said a word from later in the same paragraph, thats what happened. I have no idea what these kids are doing, unless they have a photographic memory they are understanding none of it.
I can see that. Sometimes I think I saw a word but it just had a lot of the same letters in it. That said, I would have assumed the reason you say it without thinking you read it is because your brain is able to fill in blanks. So it naturally assumes what certain words will naturally go in the sentence.
Of course this isn't possible. We can only process information so little in such short amount of time. Even AI would took hours to days in training to build context and connect the information in a way that it's coherent.
It is a flip book, you flip faster creating animation. Usually children books are form of Flip Books
@@studyrecapped The books these kids are reading are not flip books. Flip books are full of illustrations that make up an animation when flipped fast. If there are no pictures, it can't be a flip book.

It is not a scam. It has been a technique since ancient times. The idiom is translated literally to "one glance, three lines".
A very basic form of it is taught for SAT reading too. It includes knowing what to pinpoint and what to filter out. For beginners, you can simply read the topic sentences and conclusion to know the general idea of the passage.
I hope that you guys will realize there is a big world out there and even a bigger history. Being skeptical to everything without the slightest pursuit will only lead to a small mind.

I used to read them when I was a teen. ( Forced by my mom before accepting anything on the internet). Stopped reading them because even if you don't agree you have to accept anyways or else you can't use it. There's a lot of s**t on those, like straight telling you they'll grab your info and do whatever they want, others say they'll never erase your account even if you ask, and etc. Almost all of them had something sketchy. At least it made me more aware of companies real intentions from an early age.
