Hin Mr. Ben! JUst to let you know, I took C1 test last November and I was able to pass it. I used many vocabulary learnt with your videos. I did take a perp course for tow years. However, I felt the necessity of enhancing my vocab. Your videos came just about time. My speaking grade was 204 . I believe it was like this mostly because of the vocabs used. Thanks for all. Never stop making these videos. God bless the work of your hand! Happy 2024.
Hi Ben! First of all I would like to thank you for the myriad of videos you have shared with all of us on your channel. The impact they had on my learning was truly immesurable. A few weeks ago I took my first CAE exam to fulfil the reuqirement for Master's degree application. I will say I was quite anxious, though I have lived abroad and used English daily over the last three years, I reckon the fact that I haven't "actively" learning English like I did during my highschool years was something I wasn't quite happy with. Anyways, I took about a month to prepare and I will say during some days it really was just marathon binging your videos as I find them quite effective way of learning and adding on to my Vocabulary and really just exam structure understanding. My goal was to hit 185 marks as that's the minimum requirement for the university I apply to, though I am thrilled to share I ended up getting 200 and a grade A with C2 certificate which I am really happy about. A heartfelt thanks for your help in my learning process Ben, I really apprecitate it
I've just seen this comment... Congratulations on getting an A jnbthe CAE exam. Fantastic achievement 👏 👌 👍 I'm glad my videos helped a little. Thanks for your comment Ben
Hello, I watched your videos in order to prepare for my C1 Advanced exam and I have just received the results! I passed with an overall score of 200 points (grade A, C2 level)! Thank you for your valuable advice! Sebastian from Poland
Happy New Year and thank you for this video! Probably the most famous "school" proverb in my native language is "You can't pull a fish out of a pond without difficulty".
I love this Video and I'll watch it a second time to write these Proverbs at the beginning of the short English story, I'm currently writing, thanks so much never heard them before but they all carry wisdom to the outside world. That was a wonderfull start 👌and many thanks you showed Amy, she is such a lovely dog🐕 More motivation isn't necessary ❤️ And I wish you all the best for 2024👋
Thank you and happy new year!. I have a couple in spanish When the going gets tough, the tough gets going - el que la sigue la consigue. There is no time like the present - no dejes para mañana lo que puedas hacer hoy
I used your videos as a guide to prepare for the C2 exam and I just received the results! I passed with an overall score of 222! I even managed to get 230 at Reading, UoE and Listening! Keep up the amazing work and thank you so much!
Awesome I also passed but with an overall score of 207 haha. In my case, I managed to get 230 at the use of english and 214 at reading while the rest was quite standard. I am really happy with my result anyway 😃😃
Happy New year 2024 mr.Ben.I really enjoy using idioms in both languages English and Spanish.one of my favourite is every cloud has a silver lining.the translation into Spanish is no hay mal que por bien no valga.cheers Julio from Dolores Argentina.
I love my Monday start on positive note! Actually, Ben, I started my year with your Essential Grammar course ❤. So, it is already a double icing on the cake for my English adventure.
Hi from Sardinia Ben! Very nice, thoughtprovoking proverbs! (#2 is my favourite) I knew them all, nice listening to your point of view about them...🖐️🤠
In Argentine "fortune favors the brave" is similar in meaning of "a la suerte hay que ayudarla" and "mejor que decir es hacer, mejor que prometer es realizar" is a saying, attributed to former president Peron, means more or less the same as "actions speak louder than words".
Many wishes for a happy new year, Ben! You are able to creat the best motivational videos of all youtube channels, and this one is particularly gorgeous. The 5 five proverbs sound quite the same in Italy, and i like to quote is " presto e bene non stan bene insieme", i.e. fast things and well-made things don't go along with each other, meaning of course that you have to do everything in an accurate way. Thank u again!
positive proverbs ;- actions speak louder than words, you cant make an omlette without breaking few eggs , fortune favors the brave , there is no time like present , when the going get tough the tough gets going...i hope this proverbs radiate your inner positivity
Hi, Ben! Oh My gosh, you were a kid when that song was released! I was a teenager then, and that's how I got to know that proverb... I feel old! 🤣 Have a wonderful year! 🤗💕🎉 PS: in Spanish we say "Al que quiere celeste, que le cueste" which pretty much conveys the same meaning as the omelette one... It refers to painting in ancient times when the blue pigment was very expensive.
Thank you Ben, just yesterday had a conversation with a friend about difficulties in life. All these proverbs apply to it. The first one, by the way, is from Allexander the Great, in latin “audentes fortuna iuvat” You are right, fortuna, in this case doesn’t mean Lucky All the best for the new year, and thanks again, you are as great as Alexander
I remember Danny, Michael and Katheleen vibing with Billy, late 80,s I think. At the time was very difficult for me to pronounce the proverb, I needed to sing it as well. Similar to " I wish you a Merry Christmas and a happy new year", if I don't sing it, I can't say it.
Good morning, Mr. Ben ! Thanks for reminding us proverbs. They are being used from time immemorial and helping us more about finding out the true meanings of life. Thumbs up !
oh I like these proverbs especially the first one which is a n extraction from the tale and There is no time like the present which is philosophical in insisting on the present which only exists for us The past is over future inexistent Thanks
Oh tomorrow is another Day I think of the end of the film-bevel of Gone with the fins where Scarlett O'HARA optimistically finishes the part of her life
Happy new year Ben. Since we're on the subject of proverbs, this is one that I always try to put into practice. "Waste not, want not" especially when it comes to procrastination.
Happy new year Ben! In Hungarian we have "Who wakes up early, finds gold." (Ki korán kel, aranyat lel.) It means those who are hard-working and who take action for what they want, will be succesful. I'm not sure if English has a proverb with the same meaning but maybe it's my lack of knowledge. It's similar to "Fortune favours the brave" but that's another proverb in Hungarian (bátraké a szerencse = fortune is the braves').
Fortune favors the brave ,probably if you to succeed you must be prepare to take the risk,eg establish a business which requires taking risks such loans etc.
Thank you for another year full of good tips and motivational videos to keep your followers moving forward. I wish you the very best for next year. May all our dreams come true!! 🥂🍾
"He who wills the end, wills the means" - I found this one out today. Is it still in use though? perhaps in a paraphrased form, like "if you will the the end, you should will the means"?
Hi Ben and a happy New year to you and Amy too! Thanks so much for your superb content and your original videos. About a proverb similar in my language, to one of the aforementioned , in Spanish we have : ‘ a pan duro, diente agudo’ ,which would translate to something like ‘ to tough bread 🥖, sharp tooth 🦷 ‘ . I love ‘refranes’ and my grandma used to refer to them a lot and every time someone mentions one or I even myself use one for a certain situation I instantly think about her and how witty she was. Have a lovely day 😊
You English and accent a4e quite easy to understand but I find it difficult to do the same while watching Hollywood movies and English series without subtitles. Why is it so? Could you guide me?

Yes, in English we say "The early bird catches the worm." I prefer gold to worms, though 😃
