I was wondering about the pitch on the cabin roofs... my relitives living in rural maine told me that they can get as much as eight feet of snow on the ground at a time... had that happen several years ago... is the roof pitch enough to hold up that weight? note what backwoods people have seemingly never used is a wood fired steam engine to both heat the house and generate power all winter!! :) Did you say if the county road has power??? Thanks, Lewis
@randal horton Thing is you park your big wheeled truck in a shed a few feet from the county road... And / OR do what a LOT of Mainers do and go to town & the country store on your >>enclosed
Hi @Lewis. We keep roof shoveled off and the metal ones are easy to maintained because the snow slides off. We don't get the winters we used too and a snow rake can reach up and pull off snow if it does not come off the metal roof on it's own @Lewis.
steam engines today are very efficient ... Btw, its "you're." :)> and you forgot the word "much." Now, douglas, I did restrain myself from a snide comment :)@@douglasfowler2899
Well actually there is a yodel stove making outfit here in Gorham Maine so they are also locally made and yes they are top of the line wood stoves and that is definitely top of the line region East Grand salmon country

Private road but no big hills or twists for turns to access. You are not miles in... less than .5 mile in so get an old plow truck that is not registered but used for snow or how about an old tractor you use to plow and yard wood out @BryanMarine .
