Dark Knight and machinist ARE from the first expansion, but it's part of the free trial. If you want to do a bunch of scene skipping it's okay but when you get to the point at the end of the base game where it says you'll be watching a bunch of cutscenes in a row, watch em. Shit goes down.
the button to you left of the gear set button. its uh reccomended gear. so when you swap classes just click that button and it will auto put on your best gear for that class. Also after you do that. you can click on gear set and hti + then drag that new class set down to your action bar and BOOM click that puppy like its a spell and auto change your class and gear easily
Also the story is fucking amazing. the best story telling out there if you like anime you will love the story. A great way to go about it.. only pay attention to the story when there is a voice acted cutscene..just skip everything unless its voice acted.. after an expansion or two you will start to care about reading the non voice acted stuff.
You actually have access to dark knight and machinist on the free trial. The free trial lets you play through the heavensward expansion. Once you get there, you will be able to unlock dark knight and machinist. Have fun this game is amazing!
ok ok ! 1 last comment... go thru your setting and find the nameplate setting. hit minimal or hide all type shit. it will get rid of all the peoples fucking names and words all the damn screen. cleans the game up tremendously. also the combat gets wayyyy better once your lvl 60+ the trials will blow you away. also plug in or connect to a wireless controller bruh. you can do all the highest end content with a controller and sitting back in your chair
Don't listen to anyone regarding the story in XIV. They all have Stockholm Syndrome after having to cope with hundreds of hours of boring dialogue. There's some emotional high points but it's overall not worth the amount of time it takes to reach them.
I played all the way to Endwalker and never once connected with the MSQ story. It's bland, shonen anime, tropey blandness. Yawn fest the whole time. The gameplay is what kept me playing but even then, I burned out.
@@Frogstoney I mean, I didn't really agree with him, just posted my own experience. His opinion certainly fits a few FF14 people I know, but lots more are having fun.

How bout he doesn’t listen to you and your obvious disregard for anyone else’s opinion. Dude can play however he wants.

@@alaeacusmcfly4353 yea it’s fine having your point of view but saying everyone who plays ff14 has Stockholm syndrome is just stupid
