I wanna thank you so much for doing this video and demonstrating how to use this tape because I’ve been trying to figure this out and having all these bleeding problems I got very discouraged and now I discovered this and I am so grateful. You truly made my life so much easier. ❤

That's pretty much the same reaction I had when I discovered this technique for the first time! Glad it helped you.

Thank SG! I often run into this issue with sign painting (acrylic on wood), depending on how I'm applying the paint. I'll give this a shot, as I think it could help there as well!

Im confused. What is the transparent paint? Is it an acrylic white paint. is it clear? What brand sells it. Is the brand liquitex, we use this to wipe out errors. Thanks

One problem I've run into is when you mask off portions of a painting like this, you have a raised portion of the paint that sticks out, and sometimes it looks very obvious -- how to handle that? I think you pretty much have to live with it, or make sure the paint next to it is just as thick.

I agree and one of the things I've wondered is is a really fine grit sandpaper could be used to knock any ridges down before you add a final varnish coat

I've tried this, sorta, using the scraping of an Xacto knife, but the hump persists. I think sanding will just remove paint. The only thing I can think of is painting thinly, which isn't always possible.

What is the difference between liquid medium and clear gesso? Would clear gesso have the same effect? Thanks!

Great question! I suspect that the clear gesso is going to leave behind more of a 'toothy' texture layer but it will certainly be less expensive than medium.
