We live about 60 miles from Charleston-we’ve made many trips there over the years-with our children and then grandchildren. Watching your video brought back so many sweet memories-also some bittersweet memories. Our 40 year old son that surely enjoyed our trips there passed away last summer after a too short battle with cancer. Seeing some of the places he had particularly enjoyed brought such joy to this mama’s heart. Thanks for the memories! ❤️😊
I just want to say a special thank you for today’s video. Several years ago my husband and I went from or Myrtle Beach vacation to Charleston. It is just a gorgeous place! The beautiful houses, the Citadel, the waterfront…. We visited the marketplace and saw ladies weaving the sweet grass baskets and also did a tour of Boone Plantation. I believe the cotton was in the fields when we drove in. The beautiful tree lined drive with the hanging moss was amazing. I’ll treasure these ( photos) and memories. We’re retired now but with medical issues, we can not travel like we had hoped. Enjoy the time you and Pastor B can spend doing the fun things. Thanks sir letting me live vicariously t
Hi Bryant & Leslie Your hat is lovely & looks great on you 🌸 Wow the women of Charleston weave some gorgeous baskets💗and The history is amazing! Such a beautiful place
Thanks for sharing your get away with us. I enjoy watching the channel. Leslie your are such a gracious lady that truly have a heart for Christ and family. You and Brian did a wonderful job showing how two can enjoy each other and enjoy the beauty that the Lord has surrounded us with. I love the sunglasses, also please share where you got them 😎👍🏽. God bless you and your family.
It's always a pleasure to spend time with you and PB on y'alls little getaway to Charleston. You look beautiful in that hat. Those baskets we're absolutely gorgeous.
Would love to see Boone Hall. In our younger days we toured a lot of historical places but mostly in Va and Tenn. I loved that movie North and South but hate the dark history part. I think that biscuit has chopped ham in it. If you look at their website, it says they don’t put sliced ham on the little biscuits. Leslie, I’m not being hateful but I think you only like your cooking. 😂 The baskets were very interesting. I took a basket class one time but have only made the one basket. It truly is an art.
Hello Leslie and PB thankyou so much for sharing your experience with us charlotte is absolutely stunning gorgeous place I am so Happy you two Got to get away and enjoying your Vacation and relaxing!! Get you some rest so you can show us some more beautiful places God loves you and I do to ❤️🥰🙂
Awesome video, Leslie and Pastor Bryant! Thank you so much for taking us along to Charleston. It is beautiful. I’m glad they took that item off the bill, Leslie, because that isn’t right that they didn’t serve the crabmeat! I’m really enjoying this little trip with you! Love you guys, God bless you all 🤗❤️🙏
Leslie I am sitting here feeling bad for you because I want you to have agood meal too😢. I want to thank you both very much for sharing your trip. We are not travelers and I am loving this. Safe travels and anxious for your surprise...Mrs.Steve
So sorry you didn’t have a good culinary experience in Charleston. I love Fleet Landing! Couldn’t help but laugh when you said how expensive the baskets at the market were! Several years ago my great-niece was graduating from College of Charleston and I had planned to buy a large basket from one of the vendors in the market and fill it with Charleston memorabilia. It had been a long time since I priced baskets and I was shocked at the increased price. Thanks to a very nice vendor I was able to get her a basket but everything I wanted to go in the basket had to be scaled back. As a South Carolinian I thoroughly enjoyed your video!
Love all the beautiful scenery and the food you are enjoying! The baskets were beautiful and love the Ladies explaining it all! Thanks Leslie & PB! Excited for the news coming!
I think your ham biscuit was correct with bits of ham in the biscuit dough. Not sure but that is what it looked like. Not like a Bojangles ham biscuit. We’ve been to Charleston many times and did the “touristy” things you did.
I bought a sweetgrass basket 25 years ago at the Charleston market and I still use it as our dinner roll/ biscuits. It was scary expensive back then too.
I so enjoy visiting Charleston with y'all. I love that town! While we were there we went to the pink Huguenott Church (136 Church St.). After services one of the members held a class telling the history of the church. So much to see there.
The drive to that farm was simply gorgeous! As a child, I lived in a house built in the late 1700's and on a large farm, so seeing that home brought back good memories. Where I lived is now a winery and wedding venue. Those sweetgrass baskets were beautiful, especially that rice winnowing basket. When she was talking about what it was used for, I could just see men holding that basket and tossing rice in the air to let the hulls blow away. I can't wait to see what you and Pastor Bryant do in the next video!
So wonderful to go the Charleston trip with you and PB. The dinners you’ve been getting are too fancy for me. I really love southern comfort food and feel like South Carolina would have some great places for that. Have a great rest of trip. Can’t wait for your surprise.
I lived in Charleston a few years ago and when we moved away, several friends gave me authentic Charleston baskets. They did not last well. Kind of deteriorated after a FEW years….. not a long time. Had to throw them away.
I have watched the PBS show featuring the founder of Callie’s Biscuits. I ordered some of her biscuits from QVC. To me, they were heavy and too salty, not to mention overpriced. During the “on air” presentation on QVC she said her secret ingredient is cream cheese.
I am a subscriber of yours have lived in Charleston 45yrs born and raised in Myrtle Beach SC for 20. yrs and moved around because of hubby being in Navy landed here 45 yrs ago amd loved and and settled here. Hope you enjoy it. But hate every where you have eat so far except Poogans Porch. Need to try Hyman's, Magnolia's, Kaminski's for desert
Our son lives in Charleston and is a firefighter (Captain). We spend two months in Folly Beach in a condo and go to his home where he, his wife and 3 young boys live. His home is in West Ashley. We love Charleston so much! Our favorite restaurant is FleetLanding!
Those prices are ridiculous. I’m from South Africa and our different tribes weave baskets and they are nowhere near those prices. That’s highway robbery.
You can really see why the baskets are so pricy when you learn about and see how they are made. I have one from many years ago. Hyman’s Seafood was our favorite place to eat way back when we used to go to the area
Good evening for me.... Charleston can be an expensive town....glad y'all enjoyed your breakfast biscuits... I'm sorry yours was dry and not great... You should have gone up and had them correct yours....you paid for it... Lol... Loved the ladies making the baskets very interesting...they were gorgeous.... I love the old history of this town... Your not having good luck with your meals Ms. Leslie..... That's too bad.. maybe switch it up and get some seafood or something.... Yes y'all had a busy day again.... God bless y'all and hope your enjoying your time there I was hoping you and PB could relax a bit to.... Love y'all ... 🙏🙏❤️🥰
Looks like y'all had an amazing trip!! We went to Charleston South Carolina almost a week ago. We took our big Ford pickup to pull our camper which we left at Pirate's Landing in Myrtle Beach. We cannot hardly find any parking to get out & walk & look at things. Do you have any suggestions for people wanting to tour or visit Charleston. I hate the new parking machines.

Dont buy baskets down town. Wait and get them on the way out side the road in Mt. Pleasant
Hat is DARLING!!!
I think your ham biscuit was correct with bits of ham in the biscuit dough. Not sure but that is what it looked like. Not like a Bojangles ham biscuit. We’ve been to Charleston many times and did the “touristy” things you did.

Such wonderful baskets! Thanks for sharing your time away! So glad you are getting this time together. Very exciting.

This is beautiful thanks for sjstonh❤
Wow wonderful you guys are terrific to take the time to share thank you Leslie Pastor Bryant blessings ❤
If you want a more reasonable basket price go to Ohio to Amish Country. They are home made a very nice.
Sorry you've had bad luck with your food, I can SO relate...it seems I have the sort time when it comes to ordering food!
The baskets are very expensive! Buy something very small and you’ll still pay more than you think it would be. But having a souvenir is nice.
13:30 oh that’s right on! ❤️
Love the Notebook
We visited the Slavery Museum when we were there. I forget the name of it. It was eye opening and soooo sad!
Thoroughly enjoyed your tour.
So wonderful to go the Charleston trip with you and PB. The dinners you’ve been getting are too fancy for me. I really love southern comfort food and feel like South Carolina would have some great places for that. Have a great rest of trip. Can’t wait for your surprise.

My husband and I took a trip to Charleston about 18 months ago. We really enjoyed the Charleston Tea Plantation. If you go take the train your.
YES to the hat!!!
Love the hat Leslie! Looks beautiful on you!!❤❤ you wear it well!
I lived in Charleston a few years ago and when we moved away, several friends gave me authentic Charleston baskets. They did not last well. Kind of deteriorated after a FEW years….. not a long time. Had to throw them away.
I did care for them as they instructed.

There were lots of public parking decks that folks can use, but you do have to pay. They are often hard to spot, but they do have a lot of them.
Leslie your like me everyone can order good food except for me,😢😢😢
I was wondering did you have someone set you up with tours, visits, & reservations, & if so what was their names and where can we find them?
We just stopped by the visitors center when we got there and talked with them.
So did ever get you’re crab meat? Did they bring the correct dish & then take it off the bill ?
They took it off the bill
Hope you mentioned no crabmeat, or pay less
Jalapeño ?? Pastor Bryant doesn’t like Spicy 🌶
❤😊👍😘❤❤💙💝💐🌺🌷🌸🌼😊💕💕
Love the hat!
