I am taking a old 14 foot boat and turning it into a pond. Never had a pond of any size. And just happened to come across your channel. Thanks for all the information in your videos, beautiful to top!
Great video, It gives more peices and shapes to look for. One peice that I really like are forks. Anything with a large fork and they seem fairly easy to find. Again great topic, thank you for sharing with us.
This is great. Thank you! I try to take pictures of my favorite configuration so that I can remember when I put it in the aquarium. And my favorite is the arc or bridge type, where you can add small anubias or moss, and it provides an opening for the fish to swim through.
Love the pieces you picked, and your ideas for them. I think it would make a great little series if you wanted to do one. I'm always up for any of your series'. 😀
The driftwood that looks like a tree trunk is my favorite too I have a piece of driftwood that looks like a tree trunk that’s forked like antlers and on one side the branch split off and grew separately then grew back together to create a hole when the wood was still a living tree🌳
Love the shapes. This really does make it easier when looking at multiple pieces in a store or online. Basic shapes that you know work well. A series would be great, there are so many variables in driftwood that you could cover. Happy 🎂 Birthday, wishing you many more to come. 👍❤️👍
This video was exactly what I was looking for!! I appreciate the knowledge and examples you provided I have watched a lot of aquascaping videos and I haven’t run across one anywhere like this one. I have watched probably all your videos and listen to your advice as I’m working I live what your doing for the hobby thank you for what you do !!!! ❤
When using more than one piece I often have to take a picture of how I placed them together cuz I never remember how I got that particular design. Your tips are helpful as I tend to get confused/overwhelmed at the pet store when I see sooo many pieces. Thank you for the direction:)
I always liked the spiderwood that has a corkscrew Val kinda look that’s only 3-6” in circumference but taller and thinner maybe only a few branches. It fits really nice in vases and brings height to smaller nano tanks. I’ll show ya at the next show 😉
I dont think i look for anything in particular, i just look for s5uff thats interesting or esthetically pleasing like the piece you have in tgis presentation. That is very cool.
Such great ideas! My current favorite piece looks like a tripod or teepee (spider wood) with three wavy legs that it stands on going to a single branch at the top. (I guess if I flipped it, it would be like a claw). I like the proportions that is brings to one of my cubes as the fiscal point with some crypts and dwarf ambulia scattered around and through it. Happy Wednesday, Joanna! And was it your birthday this week? 🎉 if so!
Hi Noel! Oh yes, I know the claw shape!!! It’s a really fun one to scape with for sure and lots of fun to see the little fishies Interact with a through it! Bday was last week but I’m still celebrating 🥳 - thank you so much! ☺️
@@thesmallscape I thought so! I jotted down your bday in my “helpful fish tips” list last year after a livestream so I could remember, then promptly lost the list 😂 Happy belated! 😁🎂🥳
I have a hard time finding cool pieces. It’s one of those things I don’t like to get online either, but I got lucky with a site that does wysiwyg for 3 large pieces of ghost wood. I played with shapes for 2 months until I got something really nice and glued the pieces together. Glued down some moss and it is the centerpiece of my 75g.
Hi joanna big hello from London 🇬🇧 I was wondering how long should you leave driftwood in your tank before changing it to a new piece . As it must be decaying over time affecting water perimeters . I’ve had some in mine for around a decade but I was wondering if there is a recommended amount of time .🤔 my driftwood always gets stacked to make a pleco cave for my clown pleco called colin . He loves hiding under it and munching it 👍
How about "spider" shape. If you cup your hand with fingers pointed upward or turn your hand over with fingers pointed down like spider legs it can be "tree like" or sort of "cavernous" looking that fish can hide under.
Try Java moss from culture. I stupidly divided it and just threw it in 2 tanks, and thought it was just gone. Am I blessed with dumb luck? It hung around somewhere because both tanks have approx. equal patches. I will finally get enough to wrap onto driftwood like MD Fish Tanks does in about a 3 or 4 years perhaps. There are roughly 8 square inches and 1/2 thick total so far after 3 months and continually disturbing its location.
Watching your videos is like therapy for me. 😊
Aww! That is so kind of you to say. May it always be like that. Hope you are enjoying your week 🙂
I love this. Would not mind a series at all.

Crypts, driftwood- you've been speaking my favorite parts of the hobby lately!

This is awesome 👏 I’m scaping a 64 gallon low iron and was fighting with the chosen driftwood, good timing 🤩

Great vid! Really liked what you were doing at the end; reminds me of a tree split by lighting. Really digging the aquascaping tips!
Yes, well said - split by lightning! ☺️

What a clever video idea! Of course I’m partial to the “C” shape. 😉 If you want to do a series, I say go for it! Hope you’re having a great day! 😊🌱🐟💚
Happy to hear it! It’s a nice day out there - hope it is by you as well! 🌷☀️🌷

Fantastic, you make it hard to stick to my one tank declaration.
😂😂

Your "c" shape looks like a prehistoric skull. 🤭 Like all 3 of your choices. 👍🍄
Lol!! 🤭
Unfortunately I ve found this video to dark to see what you was trying to show us.
Were can I date a woman who likes driftwood?
Maybe at a wood shop class. Or a fireplace store
That first shape had a dog looking shape I the video.
Is this the new small scape shirt you was mentioning in the live? @primetimeaquatics
