It's even possible that Donna and Claudia were twins, with a strong connection, like the sun and the moon on the family sigil. Donna looks like she could be born in 1987 as well. And if she is dressed in black, it's maybe to mourn her twin sister, which death could have really impacted her, and not to grief her parents, who are not really refered to in the lore. Maybe her father gave Donna the doll after Claudia's death, and she since talks to her like she used to talk to her twin sister. I think Claudia is a sister/stepsister that probably died due to the haunted mansion and Donna brought back into the doll Angie as the doll speaks in a annoying childish voice.
Maybe it shows that her history is even darker, it would explain why the baby is portrayed as oversized and why Mia (in the tapes) says the baby is too big. Maybe her mother was 9 (sadly there are real stories that shows it’s possible) but died in labour because Donna as a baby was too big for her body to handle.
Dark theory: She was tired of Miranda's lies and purposefully wanted Ethan to end her life once she realised he could escape the baby fetus hallucination. That is why she did an easy hide and seek game instead of transforming. But the death seemed to painful and she kept running away as evidenced by the blood on the walls but eventually she managed to purposefully enraged Ethan to kill her.
@@emptyricebowl Why do you think that? Dimitrescu transforms into a monstrosity because her cadou assimilation is imperfect without regeneration, fish guy transforms because having an uncontrolled fish transformation is his whole gig and Heisenberg could "transform" sheerly because putting metal all around him is a practical form of combat defense (he doesn't literally transform, just makes a mech suit). Donna however had nothing to imply she'd be able to transform.
I personally think she couldn’t transform due to the fact that she split her cadou between the dolls leaving too little within herself to further mutate and transform idk tho
I'd say is because she didn't have the opportunity to transform. Ethan killed her early. Before Ethan stab her for the last time, you can see those string things coming out of Angie. I'm curious about what her deformed version looks like.
It's possible she didn't leave a crystal because she split her cadau between her dolls. All the other bosses transformed into a monster and then crystallized when they died, but Donna may not have a transformation due to a much smaller amount of the parasite inside of her, and they may not be enough parasite to crystallized either
@@sesslar2096 this is just my own speculation, but it seems like the cadou transforms along with the host. When the host dies and turns to ash, the cadou also dies and crystallizes much like the 3 sisters. I took the comment of 'everything would be better if Rose wasn't born' as Donna realizing that Miranda is going to throw them all away once she gets what she wants.
What's kind of messed up is that we see that after Donna says to not leave, Angie says the same thing but in a hostile way with different wording, which I think might be an indicator that Donna is actually really begging with Ethan when she talks to him before he stabs her, but Angie twists her words to make it seem like she's mocking him, which only fuels Ethan. Majorly fucked up.
@@Sayre777 It's still happening for him in his mind. Think of it like the Matrix, nothing that happens there is actually in the real world but your mind still perceives it that way.
@@Sayre777 That I do not know. That baby is also really random as it doesn't have anything to do with Donna's abilities. It's an anomaly as to why it even exists
This sequence of chasing Donna really is a madhouse. Just imagine Donna running away with a big ass doll in her hands, hiding in corners like a child, and then flailing her doll around like it was moving when Ethan found her, then doing a silly ass voice. It’s almost funny to imagine because of how goofy it would look. Of course, it’s more sad than anything else for Donna.
Angie is actually alive because she has the most Cadou donated to her from Donna. Donna actually can possess Angie to talk through her, but I imagine she usually just lets Angie talk.
Specially poor Donna and sad, desperate Salvatore. He got one of the worst fates from Miranda. I know he killed people and that he was a cultist, but I also think he was being manipulated and used while being desperate for love and acceptance. The fact that he wrote "sunny day" or "cloudy day" in the entrances of his diary just make me feel so sorry for him. He didn't deserve all the horror.
That's why I love this game. We think we are doing something right by defeating them but after learning their stories you realise that you could have helped them. Also the way it isn't as much of a horror as the other resi games but have the most tragic and horrifying backstories really sold it for me
It's sad that in Donna's point of view, she's hiding from Ethan. Ethan is the monster in Donna's eyes. But in the end, Donna can finally rest her soul along with her dearest Angie. Edit: bruh I just felt bad for Donna okay? ;-;
I wouldn't say its a funeral dress. It looks almost like she's wearing a stagehand outfit to give Angie the spotlight while she fades into the background.
It’s a mixture of both, it is a mourning dress but the other inspiration is also a stagehand outfit. The outfit for her works in multiple ways and I love it
I like to imagine that ethan is chasing donna down in the mansion while shes fuckin booking it around in her robes Nyoomin around with angie in her arms Just "AH FUCK HES COMING"
This makes the thing all the more tragic: she just wanted to play and used her killer dolls and the hallucinations as a motivation for Ethan and then finally in the end she realised what was happening to her
If you think about it ethan is just hallucinating that this is a game and donna just realised that ethan is trying to find angie like in the "game" But in her eyes she is running away from a psychotic man with a pair of scissors trying to kill her
@@rayhanrs1385 super down bad, and he’s crazy lol if he actually played the game he’d realize that’s a fake picture of her in the house because it’s stated in the letter since childhood she’s always had a big scar across her face which isn’t visible in that photo

I think Claudia Beneviento is Donna's sister or daughter idk, the years in the tomb (1987-1996) doesn't add up to be the age of a mother. Claudia died when she's 9 years old.
@@Pigraider268 I think that Claudia was Donna's sister and that the sun/moon motif have been symbolic of them being siamese twins(and the original reason for Donna's scar before the cadou made it worse). @@microwave4928 Agreed, Donna was a complete recluse and also seemed to have no intention of doing anything associated with adulthood. She plays with her dolls and seems entirely fixated on the fact that her "adopted" mother has lost interest in her for Ethan's daughter
@@slimjimpui now that you've said that, this makes more sense if they really are siamese twins, I hope we got a dlc about her and the dimitrescus these 2 lords are really interesting
Mind blowing fact: Donna was the real name of a student who was gifted the original Annabelle doll by her mother, on which the movie is based. And guess what, her roommate was named Angie. I guess that's why Capcom made this part scarier than other parts of the game.
I honestly feel really bad for Donna. She genuinely seems to enjoy having Ethan there despite knowing she has to kill him for Mother Miranda. She’s so lonely.
I had a small idea/theory if Donna found out that she was just a tool in Miranda's plan to bring back her daughter Eva would Donna had turned on her and help Ethan save rose? I mean we see and hear that Miranda never really cared or loved the four lords she saw them as just test subjects for experiments for the perfect vessel/host. It would be interesting to see the other lords turning on Miranda and helping Ethan stop her and try to lead the village the right way and maybe turn good. Just a thought
Donna probably could’ve killed Ethan during the boss fight by just stabbing him herself while he was blindly looking fit Angie. Might be interesting to see what was happening during the fight outside the hallucination. Like was Donna really unable to hide from Ethan?
She had killer dolls too. The dolls with knives were said hold cadou parasites so that she could control them from a distance. She could have killed himat anytime but she wanted to play game rather than strategically kill him like a logical human. Then again, all the other villains except Moreau just threw Ethan away and gave him a chance to live rather than just straight up kill him.
@@jvjv8093 if she was logical, she gives up the flask because what happened at that castle would send a message to the other remaining lords. Killing a dragon vampire lady should've been enough to convince anyone to give up the flasks.
You sure that grave keeper was the Gardener? Maybe in the past but with how things are in this messed up hidden village is, I'm more close to believing that but won't the guy be glad that the missing slab is back?
@@VideoGameSophistry It's not confirmed yet, but those were the speculations. Once you get back from the grave he'll be greeting you before you'd be able to fix the tombstone, as if he's protecting it.
That's my head canon too, it makes too much sense for the transformed garden keeper to guard Claudia Benevento's grave judging by how much he cared for them (Edited bcs it hardly made sense lol)
I think Heisenberg is more fitting for Pride, since he want to kill Miranda, because she robbed his "dignity". And Miranda, not able to move on, sacrifices everything and everyone to get her daughter back, Greed.
I'd say Donna is more of an Envy due to her wanting to be the daughter instead and Morau as the Sloth caz he showed sloth like features during the game like staring at the tv
I ended up keeping Angie, don't know. Maybe carrying her along the ride to kill the very one who used her as a test subject. It's oddly enough to be a nice friend to Rose, if we clean her up a bit, give her a cleaner dress, and then touch her up She'll look good as new.
I can’t help but love Donna and Angie, their story is sad and makes us understand why she would kill for mother Miranda, it’s because she is now her literal mother and she loves her. Even so we actually never see her hurting anyone, and in the note where someone is talking about how happy they are she’s here makes her seem as if she was legitimately kind, even allowing this person to see glimpses of their deceased wife. I think Donna might be the most loyal to her mother as she gave her so much.
@@jeremiahcrain7023 right before angie is stabbed the last time you can see angie trying to mutate into that monster form. She can transform, she just didn't get the chance, so that wouldn't quite make sense.
@@D7STOPIAN I'm not saying she can't transform just that she's the only one who didn't. The crystals are probably created when the Lord's our their allies mutate but she didn't so she couldn't create a crystal.
I really wish they would have added a few more parts with that much fear factor I mean I loved the game but they dumbed down the fear throughout a little to much only scary parts are vary beggining when going through dark woods with bushes moving all around you and the doll house the rest is a little to light on fear
Heisenberg would be a much better boss without getting into transformer mode. It is kinda lame and unnecessary in my opinion. His normal look is much much better
I loved the hallucination part of the lore. When you enter the mansion, its dolls hanging in trees. When you beat Donna and the hallucination stops, you see now that all the dolls in the trees was body all along.
I’m still confused if Angie is saying what Donna is thinking or if Angie is like a separate personality. Donna seems scared and timid whereas Angie is loud intentionally antagonizes Ethan but just lets him stab Donna without much of a fight
Maybe she uses Angie as mask in a sense? Donna seems pretty shy and quiet, so she uses Angie as a way communicate to others. Maybe Angie is more idealize version of Donna, or maybe it's more of a outlet for Donna? Not sure.
Okay but what if that though Donna can cause hallucinations, she can't control them. Imagine how terrifying it would had been for her to see Ethan run full speed after her
Much worse that Ethan wasn't holding any scissors after his hallucinations ended. He probably beatened her up so badly with his bare hands before she died.
The Beneviento house was _terrifying._ The Dimitrescu castle was intimidating (for me), to be sure, and had its creepy parts, but there was a kind of a adrenaline rush to it, trashing such a grand place to get items and dodging Lady D hunting you down (which admittedly was too easy and made me wish was more terrifying). Donna's house, on the other hand, was _full_ creepy. Creepy and eerie, it encapsulated that slow-burn dread of horror, the total uncertainty of what you might see when you turn the corner and look to the end of the hall. Going there straight after the castle it also feels claustrophobic. It's a _nice_ house, objectively speaking (at one point when I entered the master bedroom I legit thought to myself "ohhh I wouldn't mind living here if this wasn't a horror story"), but the whiteish-grayish walls, the total quiet, the dimness and shadowed corners, and the lack of shiny things to gawk at just contributed to the overwhelming eeriness of the level. I dreaded every door I went through and every turn I made. The devs did a good job at crafting the aesthetics and vibes of each location, and Donna Beneviento's house is a testament to it.
It kinda puts in perspective that Donna was trying to kill us to truly protect herself, not because she was evil. She was partly evil and that’s because she was manipulated by Miranda
The Beneviento House was honestly the level that scared me the most. Hell when it was time for me to meet that...fetus thing, I literally had to turn off my PS5 to calm my nerves a bit. Heck I told myself that if I had the option of dealing with killer dolls or werewolfs....I would take the wolfs.
Even without all of this detail, I felt bad for Donna because it seemed she was in a position she didn't really want to be in. Being alone is one thing, but being lonely is another
When you realize that the images of Mia holding Rose during Ethan's hallucination was actually Donna holding Angie. I actually didn't enjoy killing Donna, she was hurt and beautiful. RIP
@@SleepyKwee Its mentioned that Donna didn't like the scar, so its likely shed get any photos and pictures of her changed so that it's not visible, or perhaps the scar itself was not originally on the front of her face, but rather the side and the affected area enlarged once it mutated.
I fell in love with this character. Perhaps it was when I saw her portrait of maybe when I heard her speak but thinking about it everything revolving around her was just so cool and was honestly the best part of the game. Such a shame we couldn't see more of her
When the white light goes away when you kill Angie, you can't see scissors on Ethan's hand. You also cannot see stab wounds on her head. Maybe he was punching her or bashing her head on the floor. This feels more reasonable as a stab to your head will most likely kill you, considering the scissors it went through Angie's head. Just maybe.
no she had part of the cadou parasite mother miranda gave her that made her survived some attacks but since she shared it with some of her dolls she's not that bulky as the other lords (actually not bulky at all)
The gift that she got from Miranda that is mentioned in the notebook is the "Cadou" parasite, as "Cadou" means "gift" in Romanian and it gave her and the other house lord's superpowers. I'm also pretty sure it is the only time that the "Cadou" is translated in English on a notebook to say gift or is basically mentioned as a gift, which is the hidden meaning of that word.
Donna Beneviento is absolutely my favorite. Her confrontation to her is absolutely chilling. Yet her hyper personality as Angie only cements my adoration for her!
Bela,Daniela & Cassandra: Corpses controlled by flies Alcina D.: Giant Vampire Moreau: Fish-like suffering man Miranda: Satan Ethan: Guy with trauma Heisenberg: Bob the builder but horror Donna: Kid who needs a hug.
I have a fear of dolls, and a giant baby monster, and a mysterious mansion in the woods, and the dark, being drugged and haunted wells so um yeah I shit my pants while playing this part
Its like each lord is a part resident evil 8, donna is the scary part, the fish guy is the gross part, heisenberg is the combat part and demitrescu is the tutorial, that's how i saw the game
The Beneviento House was the scariest section I've ever played in any Resident Evil game. If there was any way I could describe how fucked up Beneviento was, it would be a massive understatement. And I won't even go into details on the Baby and the Dolls. Gotta give Capcom credit for almost making me sleepless.
There should be a buyable movie in the bonus section of the game, after completing the game, to watch from Donna’s POV while Ethan runs through the house trying to stab her.

@@alexblack4048 I guess it's possible, but it seems more likely that Donna who has a childlike character wouldn't have a daughter- for one thing she was a complete recluse even before the cadou experiment and secondly she appears to want to stay as a child herself as she laments the fact that Miranda's "motherly" attention has rejected her for Rose
@@slimjimpui ok that makes sense yes, but why would she so heavily decorate Claudia's grave specifically? Unless it was made by the parents, so maybe Claudia was her sister. Alcina is physically 44 but she's way older because she was infected in the 1950s and she doesn't age because she has regen abilities, Heisenberg looks to be in his 40s but he was kidnapped as a child so I think he does age and Alcina calls him little brother. If Claudia was her sister that would mean Donna is literally in her 20s or early to mid 30s if she was born somewhere between the ages indicated on Claudia's grave stone that are 1987-1996, the games story happens in 2020/2021. But the grave being so decorated makes no much sense to me, why is it surrounded by other gravestones?
@@alexblack4048 In the gardener's notes; it's remarked that Donna gave him the infamous yellow flower(that induces hallucinations) to plant in the garden but it was the gardener who decided to plant them specifically by "Miss Claudia's grave" Maybe the plant itself could be very invasive. As for why there are graves surrounding each other- this is characteristic of high status families in parts of Europe. Where I live in England there's a neighbouring village where a rich family have their own private gravesite and all the gravestones are in one little garden very close to each other
I am. So excited for heisenberg. This series is making me feel more and more for the characters. Yes, they’ve done bad, but you get connections to them once you know their stories. While I doubt anyone could ‘fix’ them with their company, I do wish they had proper friends. They deserve better. Each of them.
I honestly think its so sad that this had to happen, Like if it wasnt for the fact that Donna is trying to kill you you'd feel really guilty after stabbing angie. She was just a kid that wanted to play with her doll and help others.
I also realised that after you kill Donna the scissors are no where to be seen which means that the scissors could have been a hallucination as well. To make Donna’s death worse If the scissors were a hallucination then Ethan was actually just beating her to death with his bare fists.
I'm glad you covered Donna, she was a real mystery to me. Also she was real beauty 😊😳, sad to see how she turned out. Thank you for covering Village content.
It's easy to miss, but when you first enter House Beneventio there are some static shadows that look like adult humans. Maybe this is a remnant of the ghost family concept?
Claudia was more than likely her daughter, probably with the gardener if I'm honest since Donna has almost a motherly concern about Rose's wellbeing. I'm sure she would've discreetly helped Ethan ( if she wasn't already with her hallucinations ) find her.
a thing that i like about the beneviento part of the game is that it forgoes going full "spooky haunted doll mode" and instead does its own thing until near the end

@@jvjv8093 I don't think she was mentally stable enough to truly understand what she was doing. In that moment she was a child acting on instinct. Hiding behind the doll that protected her.

Very comedically dark
I believe the voice actually comes from the doll tho
Yeah poor Donna was just one of many victims of Miranda and killing her a totally set her free from pain
Angie is actually alive because she has the most Cadou donated to her from Donna. Donna actually can possess Angie to talk through her, but I imagine she usually just lets Angie talk.
When you realize the 4 lords are just victims after all. Rest in peace for all poor souls
I think Claudia Beneviento is Donna's sister or daughter idk, the years in the tomb (1987-1996) doesn't add up to be the age of a mother. Claudia died when she's 9 years old.

Her voice work made Angie much less creepy for me. I found her to be oddly adorable.
I wonder if she is VA for spinel from Steven universe's movie

@@ismaelgingles9409 i guess they can't miranda is stronger then all of them
Donna probably could’ve killed Ethan during the boss fight by just stabbing him herself while he was blindly looking fit Angie.

Y'know it's weird that she doesn't have a "core" unlike the rest of the lords, you just have angie...like, where's donna's crystal?
Might be because of Miranda's notes and how Donna sort of weakened her cadou by splitting it into several of her dolls

At 11:05-11:10, you see Angie “sit” mid air before flying off. This is where Ethan stabbed Donna and she tries to run and hide.
And at 11:25 Angie is like whimpering, that means Donna is in pain after Ethan stabbing her.. I guess

I’m still confused if Angie is saying what Donna is thinking or if Angie is like a separate personality. Donna seems scared and timid whereas Angie is loud intentionally antagonizes Ethan but just lets him stab Donna without much of a fight

Much worse that Ethan wasn't holding any scissors after his hallucinations ended. He probably beatened her up so badly with his bare hands before she died.
I'm gonna be honest. I felt bad killing the four lords. And after learning more about their lore and back story, I feel even worse about it.
Since Angie is kind of like a child, she makes her boss fight like playing hide and seek.
VGS: Donna and Angie are the first lords he meets.
Me: Who’s gonna tell him about Heisenberg?
That was my first thought 😂 heisenberg was the one who captured him
And hell, if Heisenberg doesn't count, there's also Lady Dimitrescu
It kinda puts in perspective that Donna was trying to kill us to truly protect herself, not because she was evil. She was partly evil and that’s because she was manipulated by Miranda

Just maybe.
no she had part of the cadou parasite mother miranda gave her that made her survived some attacks but since she shared it with some of her dolls she's not that bulky as the other lords (actually not bulky at all)
That actually sounds more dark 😰
The gift that she got from Miranda that is mentioned in the notebook is the "Cadou" parasite, as "Cadou" means "gift" in Romanian and it gave her and the other house lord's superpowers. I'm also pretty sure it is the only time that the "Cadou" is translated in English on a notebook to say gift or is basically mentioned as a gift, which is the hidden meaning of that word.

This was the most stressful part of the game. It wasn’t that difficult but it CREEPED ME TF OUT.
They soooo underrated, donna & angie deserves so much more.
The actual monster among monsters is Ethan Winters, he killed each one of them in the group/family, twice
He killed in self-defence and he didn't carry out sick experiments on others. He has the higher moral ground.
I love the Duke saying “Porcelain dolls are so popular right now”... I always think about it as a Conjuring- reference. I mean the franchise has 3 movies just about Anabelle. (Still not as creeps as the real life version if you ask me...)
It’s cool to be here before your channel explodes. Great work.
I think she knew her duty when she said "I WONT LET YOU LEAVE" to Ethan.
The power of Donna is literally making you high
How did you know I wouldn’t be asleep and was looking for something to watch, more specifically “I have been waiting for soooo long” for this video 🙏🏻❤️
2:49 "Donna and Angie are the first lords he meets"
*Flashback*
Heisenberg: Well well, didn't think anyone was left! You must be pretty tough, huh?
*End of flashback*
Just finished watching all your village videos! Happy this came out right before I was planning in heading to bed!
