    I like your work. I do things just a little different. I have the joint of the bangle extend off the block. Then take the block to the edge of the bench. I heat from the under side of the joint and pull the solder through. Just a different idea.

      Generally it takes about 5 minutes...or until the metal is clean from firescale.

    Thank you ...great tutorial !!! Love the Bangles !!! Have a question will the copper turn color by itself or does it not tarnish ?

    • @beaducation
      @beaducation  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Toni Earnest yes cope will tarnish very easily, especially if you live by the ocean.

    • @beaducation
      @beaducation  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Toni Earnest Hi Toni! Yes, the copper will change colors. If you would like to use a sealer, we recommend Renaissance Wax. You can find it here: www.beaducation.com/zen_products/2069-renaissance-wax-2-ounces

  • @jaykay415
    @jaykay415 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    If you textured the round wire bangle *before* cutting and soldering it, would it flatten too much? Or is there some other reason you didn't recommend texturing, *then* measuring?

    • @beaducation
      @beaducation  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +jaykay415 depending on how much you texture it, it will not flatten too much, it will still remain strong. When you texture, it will "grow" the metal so if you texture after you measure, you will have lost your initial measurement.

    Question. Why file the pinched in instead of using the flush cutters?

    • @beaducation
      @beaducation  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      A flush cutter would do the job well. Sometimes though, even though it says "flush" some cutters still lead a little pinch, so filing it flat is still needed.

    How long do you leave the bangle in the pickles?

    • @beaducation
      @beaducation  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      it all depends on how much pickle solution is in the bath, how hot it is and how much oxides you need to remove. Typically, about 5 minutes will do it. Check your piece and pull it out when it's pretty whitish and has not more oxides or fire scale. Hop this helps :)

    Won't copper turn your skin greenish?

    • @beaducation
      @beaducation  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Ya know, it depends on the person and PH balance of their skin. Copper doesn't turn my skin green but if one of my friends wears it, she will be great in minutes. You can also seal the copper with a metal spray on sealant like Krylon.
