  • Hi all, in today's video I am talking about the things I don't like about my 2019 Honda CBR 650R. I will make a follow-up video on things I DO like about it so stay tuned and turn on those notifications!
    In the video, I am trying a new style. More so than my classic videos of riding, I attempted making an informative one with text. Please do let me know what you think of it in the comments as it will allow me to have an idea of what I should and should not do! Thank you!

    About the bad seating position, I own a 650 r for almost 2 years now and also noticed how painful my wrists get after a longer drive. Then I found out that when originally assembling, the dealership put the levers too horizontal, that resulted in me having to swivel my wrist into an uncomfortable position when going full throttle. I fixed it easily by just lowering the levers to face more downward, worked like a charm.

    hi, first nice video and love the exhaust sound.
    I´m 1.85cm and i have no problem in my arms/wrists. Sorry to disagree but the only thing i hated about this bike was the dragon tail that i have solved by buying another on Aliexpress by 40 euros. Other than that, the only thing i miss on this bike is more 15HP, this bike deserved 105hp. Don´t forget that this bike is not a supersport, it´s a sport-touring so thats why the rear is slightly lower but nothing special to be honest, still think this bike is absolutly gorgeous! keep posting! ride safe!

      Is the aliexpress “quality” good enough? Im gonna buy the same rear seat cowl but I’m kinda sceptic about the quality of the 70-80 euro ones. But I don’t wanna spend 220 euros on a piece of plastic that’s from an original Honda dealer. So overpriced jesus christ.

    I'm really not sure why you're having issues with being uncomfortable on the bike, as it is known for being a very comfortable bike for commuting with. I went for a 7 hour ride on my 650R and was completely fine, no pain in the wrists at all. Also, the bike has technically existed alongside the 600RR for years as the 650F, this is just the updated to it, which is why this isn't at all a replacement for the 600RR.
    As much as I wish it did, this bike does not and was not meant to compete with bikes like the R6, RS660, ZX6 etc. This bike competes more with the R7, SV650, Ninja 650 and such.
    Otherwise, I do completely understand your other points, and enjoyed the video! Looking forward to watching more of your videos.

    • @cuddlycocaroach
      @cuddlycocaroach  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi and thanks for the comment! So for your point related to the uncomfortableness, that was solved. The reason for that was in the UK the speed limit is heavily enforced and I find myself in pain when sitting stiffly in the same position for long periods of time (>30 mintues), but recently on my trip to Turkey, I had 2 journeys that lasted 6 hours~ and I didnt feel the same pain at all! The difference was in Turkey there is no enforced speed limit so I am free to ride as i wish, and that led to different speeds and i felt zero pain. Although I cannot lie after 5 hours my arse did start to ache haha! Other than that i find the issue to be sitting in the same position for extended periods of time.
      As for the class of the bike, yes I agree that its not meant to compete with 600cc SS bikes. I just wish they upped the 500r to a morepowerful state to take the place of the er6 r7 sv650 class, and have the 650r compete with the SS class. Although I have found the 650r doesnt lack that much behind those bikes, as within the city it is more than enough and can compete extremely well with bigger bikes.
      Thank you for your comment as i really appreciated it!

    Great video made! I also own a cbr650 for 2 years.
    The only thing I disagree and I want to make it clear is that the cbr650r is not the bike to compare with 600. cbr650r is not a super sport, and it's barely a "sport" class bike. If anything is more like sport touring with uncomfortable seating position to taller people. Now, I have taken mine to the HW, city, canyon, rain and track. It gets the job done, it taught me how to ride, and now I grew out of it. The cbr650r is the bike that will get you ready for 600 or liter bike, but expect down the road you will get bored with it.

      Hey, I have a purple panda mic in my helmet by the cheek pads. The cable goes above the top pads around and comes out on the side to my gopro adapter. Hope this helps!

    I’m a new rider, why do you undertake everything on the left?

    • @cuddlycocaroach
      @cuddlycocaroach  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      So i'm an aggressive rider, therefore i under/overtake depending on the situation that i analyze beforehand. If its safe to do so i go through with it to get past the vehicle in front of me. I wouldn't advise it to a new learner though. Thank you for the reply!

      Yeah, its because of the regulations. NA doesn't have those so they were fine. Rumour is out that they're releasing an updated one next year that will fit the regulations, but will almost certainly mean loss in power...

      The sound is much more different and awareness of other vehicles. As for performance in the high revs I can feel a bit of a change even without an ECU Flash.

    Do you use tank grips?

    • @cuddlycocaroach
      @cuddlycocaroach  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I do! Its not that I can't grip it, its that when I do, I dont have the feeling of the bike's control being between my legs as I do with other bikes. Weird

    You are not suppose to put any weight on the handle bars with your hands. They are there for steering the bike, not to hold you up. If you have to use your hands to hold your body up you need to do some exercises to strengthen your core muscles.

    • @cuddlycocaroach
      @cuddlycocaroach  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes that is what I said in my video. More so then core, its legs. The core required for riding is minimal in most bikes and its more leg support, handling the bike with your legs, but on this it feels weird and you have to use your wrists. Also, on a bike like the R6 you can't use your core to stay upright as that would kill you after a couple minutes hahaha

      @@cuddlycocaroach Proper seating on that bike is a slight lean forward, elbows bent to be parallel with the handle bars. No bodyweight should on the bars of any motorcycle. Your legs keep you from going side to side. Or while leaning to adjust the way you are seated on the bike. But they do not control the angle of the torso. That is all in the lower back and abs (The core). I think the tank on the 650r is wider than the r6. So you may be squeezing it too hard. Idk. The only advice I can give is to follow the proper seating position I described above. Do not put any weight on the bars, then see what muscles start to burn. Lemme know if this helped. Have a good one.

    i guess the CB650R would fit for you. since you've said it that 40-50 mins. your wrist start to have pain and cramps.. Racing big bikes are for race tracks not for streets and like CB650R would be purely fit and relax using for daily and long riding because it deliver the relax and comfort riding position.

    No, dude, Honda didn't make a mistake discontiuing the 600RR. 600RR was a joke, from 2003 till 2020 has the same output, 116 HP. Let's remember how Kawasaki ZX6R has 118 HP and Yamaha R6 has 120 HP in 2002.
    Sorry to dissapoint you but that bike is a joke, like any other Honda bikes. Brakes are very weak, suspension very very bad and the electrichal wiring is a nightmare.
    Get ridd of that piece of shit and buy a real bike.
