I’d love to see an everything went perfect for Denmark or Sweden. Both had maximum territorial extents that were unrealistic to hold onto in the long run, so it would be interesting to see how you would keep the empires or get the best deal out of losing them.
the swedish could keep a hold on finland and estonia which have sizeable swedish minorities still to this day while most of the other territories would be given up since they are not anything remotely similar to the nordic countries
You should try making everything perfect for Colombia. They had Panama, Venezuela, and Ecuador under them at one point, meaning they could theoretically have the Panama canal and Venezuela's oil, making them an economic monster.
I know this sounds utterly ridiculous but I would love to see a version of one of these videos where you actually try to examine the geopolitical implications of this happening. Like not just how GDP and population would be shifted around, what would happen to the world if this were to actually, literally happen.
Now consider that modern Russia actually has a lower GDP than the RSFR (russian part of the soviet union) did in the 80s and you will see how impressive the Soviet Union's economic growth actually was and how absolutely awful modern Russia has been by comparison
HUGE fan from colombia here man! Suggestion: what if simon bolivar succeded in uniting the former spanish colonies with gran colombia at the hear? 🇨🇴🇨🇴🇨🇴🇨🇴🇨🇴🇨🇴🇨🇴🇨🇴
I'd love to see what if everything went perfect for Italy, as Italy has always had an interesting history post unification of them trying to become some huge Italian empire just to fail, so it would be very interesting to see how you would get them to be the biggest empire Italy can realistically be.
Yeah. In reality, they struggled to weaken Austria-Hungary in WW1, and in WW2, even with the colony of Albania they lost to Greece and were lifted by Germany like the rest of the european Axis.
i can understand the lack of slovakia content here as in 1945 they were 500% weaker than in 1939 i love to see the quality of your videos return keep up the good work
it'd be interesting to create a scenario where WW2 breaks out but with modern population and economies, like would Germany defeat the Soviets in this world or Japan holding off or winning against the US with their massive economy?
If i had to guess, unless China joins the fight against the US as a defacto ally to Japan. Japan would probably begin to be embargo'd by other countries that are allied with the US. And then slowly starve themselves off of Oil and probably loose in a similar fashion to WW2
I would like to see an What if everything went perfect for The Netherlands since they were also a colonial empire compared to portugal and had colonies in The Americas, Asia and Africa
2 ideas: What if everything went perfect for the Polish-Lithuanian commonwealth? (like to see it end at ww1, but hard to predict) What if everything went perfect for the Swedish Empire?
There's no realistic way Germany could have won the war due to having a serious lack of competent allies and sustainable resources. Even if they somehow won, it's even less likely that Germany could've held on to their new territories into the modern day due to occupied subjects being sick of foreign oppression and the Reich not being able to contain resistance attacks across their overstretched empire
Also in terms of other years that could be interesting... go further into the past! How about 1836? 1789? 1683? 1299? Let's see how crazy this can get!
I think an interesting one would be 1870, Germany not being United and Africa not colonised would be slightly interesting to see. Or do something around napoleonischen wars or the 7 years war. I’d assume in all of these scenarios that France Britain or China would be dominant in the world
@@iagomatos4304 I know that I more mean like the German empire itself didn’t exist so it wouldn’t be as economical powerful. I might be wrong though I don’t know how much to the German GDP states like Bavaria provide so if I’m wrong feel free to correct me.
I'd like to note that vichy france still retained administration over madagascar and french guinea for a time through 1942, with allied forces only taking over the island later in the year, and french guinea continuing to side with the vichy regime until 1943
What would be an interesting concept is if all the European nations regained all land they ever owned and than you would calculate what’s it GDP would be,it’s population, and other stuff. Of course a lot of the now annexed lands would be owned by two or more so you’d have to do each one not one the same map so that also means you can’t do a list of how the top 10 or around that would look
Great idea to have more, however the difficulty is finding interesting years, Victorian and early modern era is really the best ,any further would be two ubscure hard to do or uninteresting and similar to others
Don't do years, do scenarios. For example, modern day Deu with it's 1914 borders + sudetenland, Österreich and Deutsche swiss. In similar style other countries.
5:11 I know it won’t matter much, but they had some random Caribbean islands that the French owned and Greenland since Denmark died also maybe Iceland I think
Is this referring to the start of 1942 or the mid point of that year? If its the latter, the people of the Aleutian Islands might be a bit sad that they just missed out on being mentioned by a difference of a few days.
Would be interesting for like 14th century or 15th century, but doing all the municipalities, city states and well stupidly drawn borders would just not make it worth it in the end
I'd love to see something like 1812 or 1919 done in this format
YES
1919 would be boring because nothing much would change from 1914 to 1919 other than central power just having germany
Try "changing the map back to 1815"
What if we had the map of 323 BC in the modern world 🌝
Ngl I wanna see older timelines like 1756
I’d love to see an everything went perfect for Denmark or Sweden. Both had maximum territorial extents that were unrealistic to hold onto in the long run, so it would be interesting to see how you would keep the empires or get the best deal out of losing them.
I second this
I think Sweden could have kept going as long as you get the british to support them and Russia in a death spiral or really weak
Imagine the best for Spanish Empire, now that's big
the swedish could keep a hold on finland and estonia which have sizeable swedish minorities still to this day while most of the other territories would be given up since they are not anything remotely similar to the nordic countries
@@GwainSagaFanChannel swedification can do wonders 😅
You should try making everything perfect for Colombia. They had Panama, Venezuela, and Ecuador under them at one point, meaning they could theoretically have the Panama canal and Venezuela's oil, making them an economic monster.
Yes agreed
At that point just make it what if everything went perfect for Spain and have a fully in tact Gran Columbia and New Spain
Might result in the Nicaragua Canal being built instead.
@AzureWolf168because of Lake Nicaragua?
@AzureWolf168 And people in the late 19th and early 20th Centuries would be far less concerned about that sort of thing.
I know this sounds utterly ridiculous but I would love to see a version of one of these videos where you actually try to examine the geopolitical implications of this happening. Like not just how GDP and population would be shifted around, what would happen to the world if this were to actually, literally happen.
Germany and Japan would collapse… that’s what’s probably going to happen.
🧐
I like your words magic man
European Federation
it was actually what I expected from this video, not just statistics
The fact that modern Russia had a higher gdp than this Soviet Union made me do a double take when he mentioned it
Moscow alone has a higher gdp than all of the baltic states combined
Truly a bruh moment
@potato_nugget Moscow has 4 times more people then the baltics. It is also Russias financial center.
do 1947 Borders of the Cold War
Now consider that modern Russia actually has a lower GDP than the RSFR (russian part of the soviet union) did in the 80s and you will see how impressive the Soviet Union's economic growth actually was and how absolutely awful modern Russia has been by comparison

That sounds awesome!
Gran Columbia working out would've been so based. Even just leaving Panama with Columbia would be cool.
Love the little break in your seriousness at "99.72%"
I’m woke up and saw this video freshly released, immediately made my day better
Wake up guys! Possible history updated!🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
0o0
Let’s go!!
Yay
what did he update
Finally someone saying not babe

I love how Brazil keeps coming back to the top 10 even though nothing changes for us
THANK YOUR for this video!!!
Happy to see possible history listening to his viewers
I would like to see an What if everything went perfect for The Netherlands since they were also a colonial empire compared to portugal and had colonies in The Americas, Asia and Africa
This is exactly what i wanted thanks for this
Awesome vid bro
2 ideas:
What if everything went perfect for the Polish-Lithuanian commonwealth? (like to see it end at ww1, but hard to predict)
What if everything went perfect for the Swedish Empire?
To be honest both empires couldnt survive as an empire until ww1 a war would most likely erupt in the 1800s
It’d be cool to see something like Napoleonic or 30 years wars.
6:36 ah yes Japan overtaking Japan
Ah yes
Very interesting video as always! It was a pleasure to watch
Been waiting on this one
I believe 1880 would be an interesting year to cover
For other years, maybe we could go alot further back in history. German Unification under Bismarck in 1870, or the height of Napoleon's power
Its a good day when PH upploads 👍👍👍
Please make more. Here are some interesting years to start in 1803, 1618, 1960, 1783
COOL, I ❤️ Ur vids😊

Love to see you do the year 200, 750, 1000 and 1500
Could you do 1950 borders next?
Also in terms of other years that could be interesting... go further into the past! How about 1836? 1789? 1683? 1299? Let's see how crazy this can get!
please no holy roman empire

Something like 1815 or 1800 would be cool, despite the lack of countries in some regions, like subsaharan Africa
Any time before 1884 would leave out subsaharan africa
cool video love you next time do what if we had 1944 borders in the modern era and can you do something with Algeria next time
Maybe do one on the napoleonic wars(one before the begining and another at the height of french power)
day 5 of asking if Ireland won the rebelion if 1798
The European Netherlands looks great at 3:11
*I read the title as 1492, then saw the thumbnail and got confused* anyone else in the same boat
1914, Austria-Hungary would be seriously random
We need this but in 1918 or 1810 or maybe medieval times ( maybe post American discovery for easier research)
you could do 1812, 1815, or something like 1960 at the peak of the cold war
Hey im here just before the one hour mark! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I loved the part when Germany said: "Its germaning time" and germaned all over Europe
Truly one of the Empires of all time
Can you do year 5? If not, maybe at the height of the Napoleonic Wars.
what map does Possible History use
Do one during the Napoleonic Wars
What if Prussia formed super Germany from Victoria 2/3
Can u do a what if everything went perfectly for Ireland
I like this map so much
I’d love to see modern borders in 1939
Already happened
Hey man, with what aplications do you make this maps?
Great idea to have more, however the difficulty is finding interesting years, Victorian and early modern era is really the best ,any further would be two ubscure hard to do or uninteresting and similar to others
you could do one about 1806 or 1815 borders
Can you do what if everything went perfect for France starting after the napoleonic wars
napolic years would be intressting
You could argue that the north of France was only occupied for the time being by the Germans and most of it would have been given back after WW2
Do a what if history went perfect for Japan
I love it, coud you do this with napoleonic wars? like when napoleon has the most of europe?
Don't do years, do scenarios. For example, modern day Deu with it's 1914 borders + sudetenland, Österreich and Deutsche swiss.
In similar style other countries.
This would be a crazy world.
2:29 what happened to Athens?
It was under German military occupation
Japan: *Has a bigger economy than the United States*
USA: *Nukes Japan even harder*
You should do what if everything went perfect for Greece
a few years you could try are 1763, 1812, and 1648
5:11 I know it won’t matter much, but they had some random Caribbean islands that the French owned and Greenland since Denmark died also maybe Iceland I think
Perhaps you could try this out with some more ancient civiliastions? perhaps like the romans with todays gdp of those areas or the Macedonian empire.
man i cant believe italy only has a gdp of 2 million usd
A suggestion is 1789 borders or the year before the 7 years war
You forgot to mention that the Japanese also controlled Guam in 1942.
Nice
We need a what if everything went perfectly for the dutch Republic or the kingdom of the Netherlands
Can you make a video about what if everything went perfect for Spain after 1815.
Is this referring to the start of 1942 or the mid point of that year? If its the latter, the people of the Aleutian Islands might be a bit sad that they just missed out on being mentioned by a difference of a few days.
It's September 1942
You could do the countries during the Napoleonic wars.
At minute 4:11 the image of germany 1942 shows north italy already invaded
no, that’s the balkan puppets like Croatia
I think 1820 ish could make for a good video, the napoleon era or the chaotic post ww1 1919 too
how do you make theese videos
i like it but honestly everyones gdp would be smaller if you consider what kind of history would make this world, and many trajectories would change
Here within 2h when this has 6.9k views
How about some of the interwar years, maybe look at how japan expanded between the two world wars?
Big Bulgaria = Video Like
you could do some time in the napoleonic wars or 1861
Do of the year of 2023 I wonder how it would compare🤔
Would be interesting for like 14th century or 15th century, but doing all the municipalities, city states and well stupidly drawn borders would just not make it worth it in the end
maybe do one whith the roman empire at its height or the mongol empire
Hey, i'm not sure if you'll read this but what about the year 1800 or something? Something where the Spanish and Portuguese still have their empires.
idea. What if Scotland never united with England?
will you do "what if history went perfect" for Croatia, just like you did for india?
Then they would be apart of bosnia lol
Where did u get that idea🤣
Can you please make what if lndia was free in 1914
Do What if We Had Modern Borders in 1936?
A better world ......
:)
What if we have a modern old world with 184 AD borders (a year where I'd consider to be the transition of early and late ancient historical ages)
Good idea
Good idea
Good idea
Good idea
Good idea
I think it’d be interesting to see countries with their current borders, but their gdp and population growth be the same for the next 100 years.
I love to see 2023
Cant wait for the cold war one
Lore of What If We Had 1942 Borders In The Modern World momentum 100
